I don’t know if it’s the Montana air but whatever it is that Devney puts in her stories, I’m hooked. Devney does it time and time again! 5 stars. No notes ✨

Thank you so much to Devney Perry, Montlake + NetGalley for the chance to read this before it’s published. It’s out on 4th June 2024 💜

As hard as it to believe I have not read very Devney Perry romances but this one called out to me. Wes and Indya were hard characters to forget. I enjoyed reading about their past and how it impacted their future. This was a new thing for me and I really found it to work in this book. Their journey from friends to enemies to lovers and the small town aspect were highlights for me and have made a Devney Perry romance lover out of me. TBR and Enjoy!

Devney Perry has done it again; this book captivated me, and I finished it in just a few hours.

The tension between Indya and West was perfect. As I read, I kept thinking, “Just give in to each other already!” but at the same time, I savored every minute of the tension between them.

I laughed, cried, and even blushed at times. I devoured every bit of it.

Not only that, but I found the story to be very well constructed. The characters had depth, and the flashbacks added a lot to the narrative.

Thank you so much, NetGalley, and Montlake for this ARC.

Crossroads is the first standalone in Devney Perry’s new Haven River Ranch series and I loved this one so much. This is small town Montana, childhood friends to lovers turned enemies to lovers, forced proximity, second chance, all on a western ranch setting!

Indya grew up enjoying summers at a Montana ranch with her family every year. On one of those summers she first met West when she was 8 and he was 10 and they pal’d around together during her trip. West’s family owned the ranch and his grandparents were the ones to start it. We see over the years Indya and West’s friendship and relationship grow and evolve as they become teens and into their early 20s. Now it’s been 4 years since she’s returned to Montana but she’s back, as the new owner of his family’s ranch!

This was just the epitome of what I have loved with previous Devney Perry books, the Montana setting, the cowboy hero, the family and side characters, and all wrapped up with this delicious slow burn, second chance. Honestly no notes, it was perfect! I’m so excited for this new series.

I received an ARC, all thoughts in this review are my own!

Meet Indya and West, a pair who have been right person, wrong time up until the time the book takes place. I loved the flashbacks and Indya's Dad's love of Montana. The chemistry between West and Indya was *chef kisses*.

A wonderful start to the Haven River Ranch series and extremely keen for Jax's book.

Thank you to Devney Perry and Montlake for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars rounded up. It’s been a long time since a book made me cry, but this one got me. Granted, not necessarily directly tied to the romance relationship but definitely in part to moments between Indya and West tied to Indya’s overall story. Second chance is not one of my top tropes, but there was something very poignant and touching about the way Devney Perry wrote this one that really worked for me.

Indya and West’s story is told between the present day and an evolving past timeline spanning Indya’s summer vacations to Montana with her family from the first year they met until the last time they saw each other. Their time together was brief each year she visited and wasn’t always happy, but it was real. Given the turmoil Indya was facing around her father’s prolonged illness, it was easy to believe and understand how she would have been able to develop a strong emotional attachment to West in the limited time they had. West’s own family situation made the reciprocal true for him as well. Their connection felt true and undeniable despite their time apart.

Indya was an amazing woman. She’d been through a lot of challenges and heartbreak in her life, and she persevered through it all in often selfless ways. She was very obviously an intelligent business woman while also having a tender heart. It was lovely to see her present day relationship development with West and him becoming the person she could allow herself to be truly vulnerable with. West was a Man with a capital M in the way he came around to support her and had no qualms about admitting he was wrong in his snap reactions to her showing up as the ranch’s new owner. In their present day, it really felt like they built a strong foundation on the framing that was shakily constructed in their past.

There seemed to be a lead into the next book in the series at the end of this one, and I’m already looking forward to it. Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

A new series by Queen Devney Perry?? Sign me up! If you don’t know her, she wrote the indigo ridge series which I loveeeeeed.

In this new world, we meet Indya Keller as she returns to Montana (something she swore she would never do) as the new owner of her beloved family vacation spot on a mission to save the ranch and resort. Her childhood friend/crush/everything, West Haven, might not want her there but she’ll do whatever it takes to save the ranch for him.

This is:
+ childhood friends to lovers
+ past/present timelines
+ small town
+ family & grief
+ dual pov

I really enjoyed Crossroads. I honestly find it hard not to enjoy any of Devney’s books. She writes small town romance so. dang. well. She does a great job layering romance and deeper themes.

Because it’s dual pov and past/present timeline, you get to see West and Indya grow up in each other’s orbit while simultaneously experiencing Indy’s return to Montana after years away.

The ending made me so happy and overall the book was a great read.

Thank you to @netgalley and @devneyperry for the advanced copy! 🤍

It’s official, West Haven is my new favourite cowboy! West and Indya meet when they’re 8 and 10 at Crazy Mountain Cattle Ranch, where Indya’s wealthy family chooses to vacation each year. We follow a past and present timeline, in the past we see flashbacks of them over the years as they build their connection to one another. I am such a sucker for a childhood friends to lovers story!

This was my first Devney Perry book, and I loved it start to finish! She somehow injected the relaxing, happy feelings of a Montana ranch resort vacation into this book. This should 100% be on your summer reading list! That’s not to say there wasn’t lots of emotionally charged moments as well, this book has a little bit of everything to keep you turning the pages while simultaneously wishing it wouldn’t end.

*check trigger warnings*

Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for the advanced copy! All opinions are my own.

3.5 * my first from this author and certainly not my last. i love a second chance romance so that coupled with the dual timeline and the childhood friends aspect ticked off a lot of boxes for me. however, i didn’t feel as connected to west and indya in the present timeline vs. the past so i couldn’t fully commit to a 4 star rating. overall, this was enjoyable and i’m excited for jax’s book so i’ll definitely be tuned in for that.

Some of Indya's favorite childhood memories were in Montana, but now she is back, and this time she is no longer a guest. She is the owner. And the boy she secretly loved is now her employee. She must navigate turning around the ranch and lodge she loves, and figuring out if she wants to run to or from the boy she has secretly loved!

Indya is trying to be strong for her family, in her moments as a young girl, and event when she is older. West always did what he was asked, when he would push, he would be shut down. But when it came to Indya, he fought for what he wanted!

I have now found the only way I want to read second chance romances, dual timeline!!! This book came out so much heavier then I imagined! I think I saw it coming, but reading it hit like a ton of bricks! I would not want a minute of this book to be any different! Watching them fall in love, then fall in love again made my heart just so happy! And watching them navigating to get both of what they wanted!

The stolen moments and little twists and turns are what did me in, and watching them meeting the past clashing with the present! So much of both of their pasts come into play, and loved seeing them both put the things that didn't serve them into place, but facing the things that hurt and scared them!

BE READY TO CRY FOLKS! This one is a tear jerker!

Drop everything and read this book. Nothing prepared me for just how beautiful and moving this story is. Devney Perry’s ability to weave a completely fresh and original love story has never been more apparent than this first installment of the Haven River Ranch series. I’m ready to run away from home and head to Montana!

Perry manages to break your heart and sooth your soul at the same time in Crossroads.
Getting to experience the years of Indya Keller's life through her travels to the Crazy Mountain Cattle Resort was a joy. From a small child to the woman she grew in to, The CMC played a pivotal role in her life. It was only fitting that she return as an adult to save the place she and her father loved so much. To West Haven, Indya went from the little girl that he didn't want to play with, to the girl he loved, to the woman he loathed. What West saw as a betrayal was far more than he could have ever imagined. What begins as hatred and resentment slowly build in to respect and renewed love once West gets the burr out of his saddle so to speak. The stories of their childhood are so heartwarming that it gets you through the hard moments of their adulthood. Indya makes amazing upgrades and changes to the newly renamed Haven River Ranch while Indya and West also renew their feelings for one another. What's the one thing that could ruin everything? Blaine Hamilton, Indya's ex-husand. Will Indya stay on the ranch where she was always meant to be with West or will she leave it all as she intended so he can live in peace on his ranch?
Crossroads is a touching story of young love all grown up.

Thank you to NetGalley and Amazon publishing for the ARC of this book! I have read quite a few Devney Perry books in the past and I was pretty sure that this one would be a bit for me! I can say that it is my favorite of hers that I have read!
Indya is the heir to a large real estate company in Texas and she spent her childhood traveling to a ranch in Montana every summer for vacation. While on vacation, she met West. West is the oldest son of the ranch's owner and a few years older than Indya. The book follows them as they grow up from around 8 and 10 to early and mid twenties as they form a friendship and also fall in love. It flashes between the past and present day where Indya has recently taken over ownership of the ranch due to it being in financial trouble. Despite the fact that they haven't spoken in years, Indya and West fall back into a familiar rhythm and realize that the love is very much still there.
I am an absolute sucker for a second chance romance and this one was done really well. I enjoyed how the past and present were woven together and also the dual perspective of Indya and West. Their love story was raw and real and also fun to read. Highly recommend!

Holy cow. Best Devney book I have ever read. We get the typical Devney amazingness. Mixed with grief and heartbreak and beauty. Set in Montana. With the past hanging over them. Childlike love. And "my girl can cry whenever the (bleep) she wants." And man that's so refreshing. This book. I'm going to be dreaming about it for days so if you don't like it, don't tell me! 500 stars DP and your best work yet

If there’s one thing Devney knows how to write, it’s Montana cowboys. *swoon* This book gave me the feelings of Indigo Ridge with those same vibes and I love IR!!

This book goes back and forth in time from when Indy and West first meet at ages 8 and 10 to the present time. You get to experience their interactions over the years and see how much they enjoy each other’s company while Indy’s family comes for one week each summer at West’s Montana resort.

As the years go by, their attraction does too, but how could it ever work since they live long distance? They live their lives separately until that one week in the summer when their roads cross.

After not being back in Montana for 4 years, Indy is back on the resort FOR GOOD. But West feels betrayed by Indy’s decision to buy the ranch. It was supposed to be HIS ranch, when his father retired. Will they be able to work together to make the resort what it used to be? But also, navigate their own personal feelings for each other.

There’s so much heartbreak in this book, that it had me teary eyed. Devney knows how to make you feel things for her main characters and it was such a beautiful ending. I cannot wait for Sunlight and to read Jax’s story next!

First person, dual POV: Indya & West
Rating: 5⭐️
Spice: 2 🌶️
Trigger warning: this book does deal with a family having cancer and the loss of a family member.

I finished this about an hour ago. Took a shower. Had a meltdown over Taylor Swift surprise song o’clock. And I’m still trying to figure out exactly what I want to say because this was just so good!

I don’t want to spend too much time summarizing, the one from the description is done well.
I do want to spend time telling you about how much I loved our MCs.

Indya has lived with her father battling cancer most of her life. Her and her parents spend 1 week a summer at the ranch, which is her father’s favorite place. While spending time there, she meets West and they become friends that eventually leads to more as they get older. But we start the whole book with them as sort of enemies. You don’t know what happened for sure and I absolutely loved how Devney Perry flowed this storytelling. But you do know Indya mostly out of the blue purchased West’s family ranch while he had no idea just how bad the financials were because his father kept him mostly on the dark.
They haven’t seen each other in years and the first time they lay eyes on each other, after missing their true chance to be together years prior, is him finding out she was the new boss.
I was hooked from the beginning.

I loved the tension between Indya and West. She was a strong woman for what she has been dealing and he was a broody cowboy for his own issues. They both inadvertently dealt some blows to each other that had derailed their paths to each other, but I think it just made them stronger in the end.
You can feel the heartbreak they have both been living with and then the new heartbreak of them being around each other as adults and coming to terms with what happened between them.

I honestly feel like I’m just word vomiting now, but this was just so damn good.
The last 25% had me emotional.
I knew what was coming, but I also didn’t, and I just wanted to hug Indya and tell her she was doing a great job & the right thing.
And West had me melting with his broody cowboy attitude and his well timed “baby”s. THIS MAN. Might be my favorite Devney Perry man.

Devney Perry is the queen of small town romance and this book is her best and shaping up to be my favorite series of hers!

They story was engaging and I really loved it. The tension and storytelling this book felt new and I loved their dynamic. I really liked that this felt like a Devney Perry story but with a unique storyline. I loved the past lovers, secret romance, small town boy and city girl romance. I really liked how we see the relationship progression from childhood to adults and the moments together from the past and them meeting again in the future. so when she takes over and buys his family ranch and decides to help them turn it over, he's not pleased with his father or her but I liked that being together again reminded them of how good they are together and sadly how much time they missed together and how differently their lives went but they were always meant to be and they always come back to each other. Now they are both more mature and get that chance to form a life in the place where they fell in love and felt the most happy. I loved the side characters. the longing, the tension, the hurt, the pining. this is truly my favorite book of devney this year and top of hers of all time. I loved their story and how perfectly it ended for them and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. Crossroads is so good and I cannot wait to reread it in paperback on release day. fans of devney will love this book and I cannot recommend it enough! This is a must read story this summer!

She’s done it again! Devney Perry yet again has me packing my bags because I’ve decided to move to Montana, get a job at a resort, and find myself a cowboy.

Crossroads brings us the story of Indya and West, a love story spanning years between these childhood friends who turn into so much more. Each summer, Indya and her parents visit West’s family’s ranch/resort in Montana and we follow as they grow up and fall in love. With dual timelines, the present day story brings us Indya’s return to the ranch with the bombshell news that she’s bought the ranch from West’s dad.

The two butt heads as Indya makes changes to the resort and I was living for their banter and tension. They were immediately both drawn into each other again and it was just a delight. Their story packed a real emotional punch as well, there is a lot of grief and loss Indya especially has to work through but West does as well.

I loved the setting, the side characters, and it sets up really well for book two which I’m already ready for!

I loved this beautiful story! One thing about me is I take my bedtime very seriously and the fact that I stayed up until 1 am to read it, basically in one sitting, tells you how much I really really loved it!

Crossroads follows Indya Keller and West Haven. It starts with Indy returning to West's family ranch/resort as the new owner, years after he broke her heart.

I really enjoyed this book. It is really heavily focused on their characters and the relationship between West and Indy. This takes place in the present day, with interspersed chapters of each year Indy's family came to stay at the ranch.

Indy is such a strong character. She is determined and focussed, and is so loving. She quietly gives up so much for those she loves, especially her dad and West. The full extent to this is the big reveal at the end of the story.

West is initially against Indy's presence at the ranch, but he pretty quickly comes to terms with it and agrees to help her make the improvements needed and get the staff on her side. I love how he stood up for Indy even when he was still mad at her, and how he was always there for her when it mattered.

I wish there had been a bit more from the Blaine storyline, and I also feel West's dad should have been in the story more.

Overall, this was a heartfelt story which made me cry and swoon in equal measure!
