I started this book with high hopes, as elle kennedy is an author who's work i truely love, however it really was not for me. I found the representation of london to be quite hard to connect to as being from near london myself it was an extremely stereotypical representation. I also found all the main characters to be slightly irritating.

Obsessed ! Anything elle kennedy writes is right up my street, she cant do no wrong in my eyes ! This was a highly anticipated read for me and she knocked it out the park with this

DNF @ 40%. This book unfortunately, didn't work for me on this occasion. I had never read anything from Elle Kennedy before but I was excited to delve into her writing after hearing such incredible things and don't get me wrong, this was FUN. It's always so interesting seeing through the eyes of a character visiting a place you know like the back of your hand, for the first time. I think Elle Kennedy did well explaining what the UK was like, I couldn't however get past the pacing. I definitely want to try and read this again at a different time, but for now it didn't land quite how I would've liked it to.

DNF. I unfortunately couldn’t get into this. The British-isms were too cringey for me, and I found the FMC to be very young and immature, as well as a Mary Sue.

I enjoy Elle Kennedy's books but struggled a bit to get into this one. I did enjoy it overall though

As expected, this was another great read from Elle Kennedy.
She's easily one of those auto-buy/auto-read authors for me now.
I wasn't sure that I was going to be a fan of the love triangle trope but it worked well and she did a nice job of writing a British story too.
I maybe didn't connect with the characters as much as I have in previous books by this author but it was a quick and easy read.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love Elle kennedy’s books and have yet to find out I haven’t liked. This book doesn’t disappoint. Elles writing style is so good. I love a romance novel and this ticked all the boxes for me. Loved the love triangle aspect. I loved the FMC Abbie and how confident she is. The other characters are likeable. I did find this different to Elles usual books (which if I am honest I prefer) but I still enjoyed this one. A cute, entertain book that I recommend to my fellow romance lovers.

I absolutely love Elle Kennedy but I really struggled to get into this. I think it was the age of the characters. Unfortunately, but definitely a ME issue!

Really enjoyed this book! It's a different vibe to the hockey romance books I've read of hers, but I ate this up!!

I surprisingly loved the love triangle trope and I love the plot line throughout!

This has to be one of the only Elle Kennedy books I’ve ever put down. I don’t know why but I just didn’t love it. I felt the FMC was a disjointed character, I didn’t love the love triangle trope (I felt it just was a bit meh) and I struggled with the British stereotyping. I ended up not finishing this ( I did buy it and maybe I will but I’m not rushing for it)

I absolutely adored The Dixon Rule so happily jumped into Girl Abroad expecting a similar vibe, but I think that's where I went wrong.

Turns out I'm not a fan of a love triangle so this one didn't hit the spot for me & I didn't particularly like one of the love interests so it fell a little flat for me on the romance side.

However, I did love Lee & Celeste as side characters & would have happily had more of them. And the mystery element, with Josephine & the painting, was what drove me to keep reading. I needed to know more of her story.

If you are a fan of love triangles you might get on better with this one than I did.

A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable. The plot is one that is engaging and I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.

I want to thank NetGalley for approving me for an ARC of this book. Special shout out to @bex_boys_and_books and @archerofpages for the buddy read!

🔺Love Triangle
🏘️Relocation
💞Forced Proximity
🥰Friendships

After loving Elle Kennedy's recent releases I couldn't wait to start this one. This style differed from our usual Kennedy books and I loved the mystery surrounding the painting. As a personal preference, I'm not usually into love triangles as a trope, so this one did fall flat. However, the fun friendships and ease of reading made it more enjoyable.

Girl Abroad follows the main character Abby as she moves from America to a London to study abroad. This is her year to get away from an overbearing parent, gain independence and find her own way. On this journey Abby also falls for one of her roommates but also a local musician. Was the love triangle slightly predictable? Yes. Was it still amazing and did it suck me right in? Also yes!

Girl Abroad was a great read. A story about growing up, independence, love and loss. One you will pick up and not want to put down.

It’s very interesting, beautiful and sincere. If you looking for an opportunity to think about yourself and life, you can have a chance.

The set up for this was interesting with how Abbey was away from her father and had her first taste of freedom.
I immediately liked Jack but really didn't take to Nate so I couldn't buy in to that relationship. I'm not a fan of dating them both and found it surprising that that seemed okay. A little disappointed.
Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review.

Elle Kennedy NEVER misses!! Girl Abroad has officially made me a love triangle GIRLIE. I usually hate this trope as I don't like the unknown aspect but I devoured this book!

At this point I fully believe that Elle Kennedy can do no wrong. I did not think I would enjoy this as much as I did. Normally Americans writing British characters really annoys me but Elle did such a great job of writing funny, loveable characters.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy of this arc!

Wow, my first Elle Kennedy book and I really enjoyed it! This book definitely lives up to the Elle Kennedy hype - which I’m so glad about.

Abbey just always seemed to be looking for more and wanting to step out of her dad’s shadow and I’m so glad she got to do that in her travels! This love triangle trope was done very well because it could’ve went down the wrong path.

I think abbey picked the right guy, for me with my connections to the characters. I just wish we got to see them more together at the end and feel as though the guy she did pick we didn’t see them together as much in more of a couple capacity before she picked him.

Overall, it was really well written and I also loved that she solved a mystery too, the side plot was a really good narrative route to go down so the whole plot wasn’t based around a trope! A solid 4 star!

A great romance book, I really enjoyed the romance tropes and found myself rooting for the couple and wanting to continue reading way past my bedtime! Thank you net galley for the review copy!
