I wasn't a fan of the story or the artwork. I also agree with another reviewer here that the comparisons to The Promised Neverland and Monster are way off base. Not for me, unfortunately.

When a mysterious virus called "The Sleep" reemerges, Officer Adam Garfield finds that after a (somehow not that devastating) injury, he's not going to be able to retire with pension -- no, the military has even more uses for him! Including connecting with a legendary "diver" to become his "companion," a pair that goes into the consciousnesses of folks affected by this virus to try to bring them out of it. But after so long with new cases, what's really going on?

I like this sort of speculative sci-fi story, and as a two-volume-in-one omnibus we get more of a feel for the world and the first seepings that this virus is more than just a random reoccurrence. The characters are interesting even being a sort of standard newbie go-getter (kinda) pair and a more experienced tired/suspicious guy, but they bounce off each other well, especially toward the end of the omnibus when the real investigation begins.

It's always hard to rate one volume out of a series (in this case three two-in-ones) but I'm interesting, and I'd like to know what happens! The marketing's a little weird on this because "for fans of Monster and The Promised Neverland" ... I don't know, the vibes aren't really similar! But it's good! And worth a read especially at such a short series it's nice to know it'll be wrapped up without dragging on! Also the art is good so it was a little big of a shame the scans for NetGalley were so crunchy it was hard to appreciate ... but that doesn't detract from the work itself!

Unfortunately this was not for me. I enjoy manga and the variety of genres. King in Limbo sounded interesting but I didn't like the plot or the style of the artwork.
