This cookbook was great for me because I have been wanting to get back into baking for a while now but since I'm so busy I hardly have the time. It has helpful information about the ingredients and equipment needed for the recipes in the intro. I liked that the timeframe was included for each recipe, meaning rather than just saying the entire process would be 1 hour, it was broken down into 'hands on, rest, prove/chill, and bake' along with the total. The notes were for help with the recipe and the 'Why not try...' was for eating suggestions or alternatives to the recipes! Tips were expert help for the wayward baker.
The recipes were easy to read and understand. I loved the layout & it had real photos of the finished result--which I LOVE! Two recipes I really enjoyed were the 'Husband Tart' and anything with 'Biscoff' in it!
Thank you to NetGalley, Quarto Publishing Group – White Lion, and Carnival for the ARC! ♥

This cookbook is full of classic recipes with shortcuts that make them quicker to bake. With enjoyable classics and creative recipes, this cookbook has you covered with all flavors and for all occasions.

Who says baking has to be hard and time consuming? Not with this handy baking bible. Lots of fun, easy and delicious recipes to choose from! I thank Netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group for the opportunity to read and review this cookbook.

As I am passionate about cooking (and eating) I read many cookbook and I can say, that this is a good one.
Each recipe gives the hands-on time, as well as the total time, so no miscalculations because of resting. You know how many serves you'll have, the ingredients are usually not hard to find and the recipes have a little description or story as well, which I find really cute (but only when it's a little one, I'm not a fan of reading whole pages about the history of that recipe before I can actually find the recipe). Not every recipe has a photo, but the ones that do, are really pretty.
The main measuring system is the metric one, but the quantities are also converted to imperial for each ingredient (but I still think that it's better to buy a scale and measure in grams)
The chapters are organized by the time of the day when you'd eat that recipe, from the start of the day, to the late night snacks.

I really enjoyed flipping through the pages of this book. The pictures are great and the recipe I tried tasted very good! The desctriptions are easy to follow and the ingredients are easy to get. Overall a great book!
I love baking and I very much enjoyed reviewing a copy of this book. Lots of tasty sounding recipes and beautiful photos to go along with it. Definitely a good book to add to your baker's cookbook collection.

I'm a huge fan of Great British Bake Off but not a huge fan of overly complicated time consuming bakes. This book is perfect for me. It keeps the recipes real simple and easy to follow, not needing loads of fancy ingredients. I did try a few bakes for a social event and they were delicious (including my first attempt at baking bread). I'll definitely be using these recipes again in future.

I think most people are part time bakers and this cookbook provides easy to follow recipes for stress free baking. Plenty of pictures. Can’t wait to make the blackberry meringue pie.

This cookbook contains beautifully photographed recipes for both savory and sweet bakes, including bread, pastries, cookies, and cake. Some recipes are the standard staples you'd expect in a baking book, but the recipes that are new spins on old favorites are the ones that shine. One fine example is the Red Pesto & Mozzarella Bread Scrolls, a savory version of cinnamon rolls or Swiss rolls. Another fun spin on a classic is the Savoury Baked Cheesy French Toast.
Recommended for all home bakers.

Bad idea to look into this book when you're stuck at home without ingredients to try the recipes out !! Those pictures look so yummy you'll want to dive into baking at once !

Can wait to get a hot off the press copy of this book. Wonderful collection of recipes. First impression when initially browsing the pages was “I want to make all of them”. Beautifully illustrated. Measurements are given in oz and grams. The layout of the recipes is very organized. Instructions are very clear and precise.
Great for beginners and non beginners. Definitely added to my repertoire of breads and sweet snacks.
I definitely recommend this book.

Such a fun cookbook! This book has so many drool-worthy recipes with beautiful pictures, it's hard not to want to start baking. Just like the interesting and fun title, this book gives you so many recipes and they are straight-forward, simple, and easy to follow. This book will be one of the many cookbooks I own that I will reach for and consider gifting to friends and family. So glad I got to read this!

The recipes are separated into chapters based on the time of day you would enjoy them - breakfast, lunch, afternoon, after dinner, and late night, but a few seemed like they were in the wrong places. This is a good collection of recipes, and each lists the time they take. I enjoyed the color photos which were included on about half or so of the recipes. Ingredient measurements were also in grams.
I like the idea of this book, but I am not sure how these recipes are more "part time" than finding any other baking book and choosing items from there that have lower time required. There didn't seem to be any time saving tips or unique preparation methods. Overall, though, it is a good collection of baking recipes.

Although I haven't prepared any of the recipes yet they look great. The instructions are detailed and the ingredients are easy to purchase.

'Part-Time Baker' offers a variety of simple, no-stress baking recipes. You’ll find things like Chocolate and Hazelnut Loaf, Savory Baked Cheesy French Toast, lentil-inspired “Sausage Rolls”, Vegan No-Bake Chocolate and Pistachio Bars, Mini Pina Colada Loaf Cakes, Peach Melba Eton Mess, Molten Salted Caramel Brownie Skillet, and Funfetti Frosted Cookies.
Broken down into five main sections (start your day, elevate your lunchtime, afternoon tea, after-dinner desserts, and late-night treats), the book features both sweet and savory recipes coupled with clear, concise instructions and helpful tips. Many of the recipes are quick and easy to prepare and offer both cup and weight measurements. Most of the recipes have photographs and thankfully, don’t require lots of crazy ingredients and/or baking equipment.
This book would be ideal for a new baker or someone who likes tasty treats but doesn’t want to spend a lot of time making them. Seasoned bakers may be turned off by some of the hacks (for example, Cheat’s Almond Croissants where the recipe starts with store-bought croissants and adds a home-made almond paste.)

This was a great cookbook for me. I always want to be creative but it all seems overwhelming. This book made it so easy that even I can handle it. My favorite was the Ultimate Chocolate Brownies and the Mini Pina Colada Loaf Cakes. We really enjoyed trying these recipes. They are detailed and well explained, very clear to understand the page and how to follow and includes mouthwatering photos. You will enjoy this book and will want to bake everything you see. Enjoy.

A nice edition to a collection of baking-focused books. While not for beginners, the beautiful photographs are enough to provide inspiration and the easy graphics referencing hands-on time are quite helpful.

I was eager to read Part-Time Baker, expecting to find recipes that were quick and efficient and perhaps small batch, but delicious. And Part-Time Baker delivers. However, at least for me, this was something of a mixed bag as I did not find all of the recipes to be equally enticing.
I did find the layout quite attractive and appreciated the clear text and the photographs.
I was also impressed by many of the recipes that are included in the book. that include a number of delicious but quick recipes that I will try, such as the honey and oat loaf, chocolate brownies and hot-cross buns. Some of the more savory lunch ideas looked very good as well. I was also impressed with the cake section, and will be trying the lemon and passion fruit cake soon!
I was less thrilled with the number of "shortcut" recipes that get to the table quickly by utilizing store bought ingredients like puff pastry dough and croissants and fancy them up with, well, often mostly a more sweet things. So, for example, the author suggests adding chocolate, raspberries, and pistachios to puff pastry, and a very sweet home-made almond paste and sliced almonds to store-bought croissants. Honestly, I am not sure why I would do such a thing as it would be much easier to just buy a delicious almond croissant or a raspberry pastry at a good bakery. This may have to do with where the reader is located, but I would rather take the time to make my own from scratch or buy really well made pastry-shop versions--I have no desire to spend time fancying up a mediocre store bought croissant with raspberries and chocolate. I was also mildly repelled by the chocolate twists which add milk chocolate and instant custard to puff pastry slices. and was extremely dubious about the short-cut bagels, which contain very few ingredients, including cream cheese.
A further number of the recipes just seemed overly sweet to me or simply did not hit my own palate preferences, but I can imagine that many of these quicker recipes would be delightful for busy young parents with a sweet tooth or anyone who is fairly new to baking. They are clearly written and the author has provided a wide selection of offerings, really something for just about everyone. So ultimately, I would give this one a solid B+, with the recognition that that others may enjoy the recipe short cuts more than I do.
My thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.

The vibrant and beautiful pictures draw you in from the get go. The majority of recipes are accompanied by a stunning picture, I have read other recipe books before, but there is something about the visuals of this book which make you want to try every recipe.
But it was the cinnamon sugar popovers with honey that stole the show. The recipes were relativelty simple and straightforward and this is what makes the part time baker. The recipes realise that we all do not have chef standard kitchens and the time to dedicate ourselves to chef standards. We all are part time bakers, unless you are a qualified baker. We all dabble with dough, and battle with batter. This recipe book holds a collection of recipes which will soon be my go to for sweet treats and also tried and tested savoury bakes.

I am a cook book addict and love baking. Due to the title of this book I thought it would be run of the mill and nothing very exiting. It is far from that. It has fabulous recipes and lots that I want to bake, there are lots that I have not seen before and great favour combinations that I cannot wait to bake and eat. I will be buying this book.
