I do not know the Belvoir Estate, but I love ospreys so reading about osprey conservation efforts was quite interesting. While I enjoyed the pictures and academic research in the book, I felt a bit like I was reading a report and not a book. I think the personal parts and also the literary parts could have been a bit bigger in this one, that way it would feel a bit more like nature writing and a bit less like half a PhD with personal insights. I of course rooted for the ospreys! It was also quite funny to be reading about osprey roots when flying over one of them!

I love reading book about conservation efforts, nature, and animals. It was heartwarming to see how dedicated the author is to his cause. I especially enjoyed reading about reasons behind migration, the migration routes, and how the bird were nesting. It is also so great to read about how many people care about the ospreys. Naturally, there is this other side, or the other people as well, the not-so-good-ones thinking they have all the rights in the world, but they are luckily just a minor part in this book. A great read for people interesting in conservation of bird species, and people who might think that one person can't really do anything.
