The bright colors and interactive component will make babies/toddlers love it. I think it would be a wonderful board book.
This was a cute book, a good read with little ones. The illustrations are bright and colorful. Thank you for the opportunity to read!
Our 8-month-old adored "At the Farm" by Jess Hitchman! This interactive board book quickly became a favorite in our household. From lifting the flaps to discovering the friendly farm animals to giggling with delight at their reflections in the mirror, our little one couldn't get enough. The colorful illustrations and catchy rhymes kept our baby engaged and entertained during every reading. It's not just a book—it's a cherished part of our daily routine that brings joy to our little one's day!
We love the animals in this beginner book. Lots of fun colors and things to look at on the farm. It is fast becoming the toddlers' favorite.
This is a great read-aloud for the 1-2 crowd. They'll love getting to high five the animals and practice their farm animal noises!
A fun interactive book that allows children to high- five the animals as they learn their names . Children will enjoy lifting the flaps to reveal the animals .
The illustrations were colorful and beautiful.
This is a fun book for babies and toddlers! The colorful pictures help to keep the child's attention. The rhyming words, high five pictures, and flip the flap will keep babies and toddlers entertained as they get to interact with the pages and animals. I also love the 'mirror' at the end for baby to view him/herself.
Another adorable board book, this time on the farm. Colorful illustrations with interactive text, this is sure to be a hit with babies and toddlers. I love the addition of a mirror on the last page. My little ones always enjoyed looking at themselves when they were that age. This would make a great baby gift.
Cute little book, perfect read before a nap. My 2 year old brother loved it🥰
Cute illustration. Good for learning the basic farm animals, interactive and funny. Which toddler wouldn’t love a good peek a boo🫣🤪
Thank you NetGalley❤️
One of those ultra-colourful things I declare are not books, but things designed to get the very young hand used to holding actual/other books, and the eye engaged and coordinated with their use. There are just five instances here of large flaps to lift in order to both answer the question and complete the rhyming couplet, and they centre themselves around high-fiving farm animals and perhaps getting a surprise or two. It's a perfectly decent tool to get a young mind receptive to book use – and as a result would have to be pretty bad indeed to get a low mark. This isn't bad at all.
I think this book is cute and playful. I like how the animals are all hiding as if they are playing peek-a-boo with the viewer. I feel that a child would have fun flipping the flaps up to see which animal is hiding from them.
This features one of my 2.5 year old twins' favorite phrases: "only joking!", which made this book at huge hit. Like another of Jess Hitchman's board books that we recently read (In the Jungle), this one centers on high fives (in this case, lifting the peekaboo flaps to high five the various farm animals). I liked In the Jungle better, but I have no complaints about a book that makes my kids laugh, high five, and ends with my favorite phrase: "Time for bed."
Excellent illustrations, as well. Will definitely consider buying.
At the Farm was a cute, short read. The interactive flaps would keep baby's/toddler's attention. The choice of farm animals were great. High five author!
The art is cute, very simple which is perfect for a young audience. The rhymes are fun to say and the flips are a lot of fun. My kids would have loved this book.
4 stars
This book is SO cute. I love how it has the pages that flip open. The interactive high five is super sweet. I can see a child getting excited to high five the farm animal.
Very cute and appropriate for a baby or younger toddler storytime! There are points of interaction for readers, such as high fiving the sheepdog, cow, and horse, and lifting the flaps after guessing who might be hiding behind the hay and corn field. The flaps are big enough that kids can help with lifting the flaps without worrying about ripping the pages.
Hi Five Me! At the Farm is a lift-the-flap board book that is perfect for babies and their parents to read together. The illustrations are simple and won't overwhelm the youngest readers and older babies-toddlers will enjoy lifting the flap to reveal the hidden animals. The rhyming and repetitive text is simple and straight forward. I especially love that the last rhyme has a mirror to include the infant reader in the story. Overall, this is a cute book for children and caregivers to enjoy together!
Such a cute book! My nephew loved it and actually hi fived all the characters. The mirror at the end for him to see his face made him squeal with laughter.
Adorable Book! I read this to my toddler and 7 month old and both enjoyed the concept and illustrations. The high five aspect keeps them involved in the story as well as laughing. Highly recommend for kids under 5!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of At The Farm in exchange for a honest review!
This book is so cute and very interactive. This book shows children what animals are as they lift the flaps and interact with the book through out. A perfect gift for a small child and family.
