What a wonderful and engaging book!

The illustrations (that cover!) are absolutely beautiful and I love the attention to detail in all the insects and their dwellings.

My little loves all things nature and we have a lot of books about the outdoors, creatures, animals etc - we will definitely be adding this to our collection! She is only 3 so was most interested in the photos and basic information, along with the little stories - but I know this is one of those gems which will grow with her for sure. As she gets older and learns how to read herself, I can already see how she will be able to learn new things each time she reads it, and engage with it in different ways.

Thank you to the author, Frances Lincoln Children's Books and NetGalley, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Luna the ladybug guides the reader through this amazing children's book, and looks at all kinds of different bugs. Lots of facts and interesting details, interspersed with stories and legends that people around the world have told to explain their understanding of the natural world. The illustrations are fantastic - this is a book that will be taken down and read again and again. I also loved the section at the end, with activities to help ladybugs.

This was an adorable and informative introduction to insects. With Luna the lady bug as our guide, readers learn about the characteristics that all insects share, as well as some differences between insect species. There are special sections for the largest and the smallest insects, and sections for unique characteristic that make some insects super special. Young nature lovers will likely enjoy learning about insects while reading this book.

What a lovely little book!!
My kids love bugs so this book was a hit. We learned so many new things, and the illustrations were beautiful.

This is great! I like how the topics are organized. Each page compares one aspect of bug features, such as what different bugs use to smell, or how different bugs build. This compare and contrast helps kids learn not only individual facts, but about how the insect world works together in its diversity. Though there is quite a bit of information stuffed into this relatively short volume, it feels bite size and not overwhelming. For older children, real photographs might be an advantage, but these colorful, cute illustrations are perfect for engaging young ones. My five year old and I are having a lot of fun reading this together (I might even be enjoying it more than her!), and I think older children reading on their own would also appreciate this book. What a gift to gain a little more wonder for the masterful creation we see all around us, especially the creation that is right under all of our noses.

My 4yo loves learning about bugs and sea creatures so I picked up this for review and I fell in love! The illustrations are adorable. The cute mini facts on every page were fun to read and I even learned a thing or two myself about bugs! I immediately pre-ordered this on Amazon and I can't wait for her to read it herself!

This book is fantastic -- beautiful and so informative! If you love the Usborne type books, this one will be right up your alley. The illustrations are gorgeous and engaging and help readers understand the content. The book covers a lot about bugs but in an engaging way where there are no large chunks of text. I think this would be an amazing gift for kiddos who love bugs, particularly with a bug house, bug kit, or even just a magnifying glass. It would be a perfect addition to any public library, elementary library, or elementary classroom, particularly for units on nature or bugs! Definitely recommend and want to purchase!

5 plus plus
This is an amazing educational and informative book on insects (no worries no spiders here, spiders are not insects). It is very well done with short paragraphs with poignant information dispersed and well designed on the page with illustrations to make absorption of all information easier to read. It has great legends, short stories, and fables to go with the scientific facts and interesting facts that I didn't know about. The book doesn't have many pages but explores many themes and subjects related to insects in a succinct but efficient way. There's even a page dedicated to awards, best builders, or even best teamwork. The way the science is presented with cute illustrations and witty presentation makes this a very useful resource and even the most deadly yucky insect is presented to us as cute and indispensable. Ladybug Luna is presenting us the insects, in and out of water, tiny or gigantic, there is plenty to respect and plenty that lives in a perfect ecosystem with us. I recommend it to every classroom, house, or library. A series to keep close.
Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this e-Arc.

The Secret Life of Bugs grabbed my attention at first because of the beautiful cover. I love the bright colors! The rest of the book is equally gorgeous. Educational and fun books are great for little readers. The world really does need bugs, and this is the perfect telling of that fact. My two nephews would love this book.

I appreciate the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a sweet nonfiction book about bugs. The stories added are a nice touch and there is also a lot of information about each bug featured. I think this would work best for younger elementary kids. My 8 year old was ready for something a little more in-depth whereas this held my 6 year olds attention. If you have a younger kid who like bugs, this would be a good book for them.

This is one of the most educational books I’ve read in a long time. I learned more about bugs and insects in the last 20 minutes that I did all through my education!
I’m already contemplating what wildflowers will help the little critters in my region for spring!
Follow Luna the Ladybug as she takes you through several insect facts and adorable cultural stories about the colors of butterflies to making do with what you have just like the ants. I loved the art and it was bright and colorful which is my favorite.

This is the perfect book for any budding entomologist. The information is presented in a way that teaches the information but also keeps the child engaged with the text. This would also be the perfect book for teachers to use as a reference for a bug unit.

I love the fact that this book highlights how much we need insects. Easy way to engage children and cause interest and excitement about bugs. I would recommend to any teacher or parent. This is the type of book you buy and give away in mass. So happy to hear that this book is one of many in a series. More please!!!

This book brings you on an adventure with Luna the ladybug, where she tells you all about herself and her insect friends.

This was an incredible and informative read. The book has a few short stories in, which I enjoyed. The pages were filled with facts and illustrations about bugs and I think a lot of kids (and adults too) can learn from it. Everything was explained really well and even the more difficult words were easy to understand.

I would definitely recommend this to teachers or parents with young kids or even to libraries who are looking for books for the younger audience.

Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
