Their Second Chance at Love by Kayla Tirrell is a heartwarming Christian romance about love, redemption, and second chances. Erin, a single mom struggling to make ends meet, is surprised when Logan, a man from her past, returns to town to fix up his childhood home. As Erin works toward buying the house, both are forced to confront their pasts and the feelings they still have for each other. Tirrell's writing beautifully explores themes of forgiveness, faith, and new beginnings, making this a touching read for fans of inspirational romance. With heartfelt moments and a strong sense of God's faithfulness, this novel is a reminder that love can blossom even in the most unexpected circumstances.
Kayla Tirrell’s Their Second Chance at Love has just become one of my favorite new books!!!
This has to be one of the sweetest love stories I have ever read. The romance genre is often known for big, grand gestures. However, this book proved, you don’t always need one. Logan, was patient when courting Erin. He understood that while he had been in love with her for over a decade, she wasn’t in the same place . His display of self-restraint was beautiful and perfectly represents love that developed slowly is just as romantic!
I am the newest fan of all things Kayla Tirrell. She will be an auto-buy author for me moving forward. She effortlessly incorporates her faith into her writing. In addition, she had the perfect pacing when telling the story and had phenomenal character development. I hope the book community discovers her work and latches on to what a talent she is.
Special thanks to Netgalley, BooksGoSocial, and Kayla Tirrell for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
This book has amazing potential. I love the small town scene and the aspect of a second shot at love. There are certain aspects, however, that confuse me. For instance, I thought the daughter was a teen. As it turns out, she is not. There were other aspects of the story that were not believable. Also, there are some details the author narrates from the third person that I believe the characters could have expressed. But that just may be my love for dialogue shining through.
This is a great option for Christians searching for clean fiction.
My first book my this author and won’t be my last. This was such a sweet romance that held my interest throughout. I enjoyed the characters and how they interacted with each other even when hurt - disappointed and confused. I loved the aunt and how she meddled but not full force. The Christian component was natural and not disjointed from the story.
Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
A love story about the lives of Erin and Logan and the story of their past and how the rest of their lives will play out for them.. Erinchildre Samantha and Parker are adorable and we all need an Auntie Betty in our lives.
Their Second Chance at Love is a well written romance. I throughly enjoyed the plot and character dynamics. My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my advance copy. This is my unbiased review.
Erin wants to buy Aunt Betty's Victorian house, but it needs work. At the same time, Erin needs work to earn the money to buy the house where she and her children are living. She has been commissioned to make a wedding cake, and her dreams fall apart when the handyman, Logan, Aunt Betty has hired and Erin's son throw a football inside the house and topple the cake. Erin falls on her own sword to right the wrong she is ultimately responsible for, but ultimately it costs her the money she needs to buy Aunt Betty's house.
Logan has been gone from town for several years because he had unresolved feelings that came up when his best friend and Erin's husband died of cancer. He couldn't come to terms with the feelings he was having, so he thought the better choice was to leave.
Kayla Tirrell has woven together a novel that explains how God is at work even in the background of our lives. She also shows what second chances are like in God's family. Their Second Chance at Love is a bit of a light-hearted book with some depth to it. It moves the heart in ways that are unexpected. This is a strong four star book.
Books Go Social provided the copy I read for this review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
A sweet Christian Romance. Logan left home unexpectedly years ago, but is now back to fix up and sell a house before moving on to the next chapter of his life. What he doesn’t expect is to find Erin, the reason he left, and her family living there.
This is a beautiful second chance romance, with great faith and forgiveness storylines.
Devoured in one sitting.

This was such a sweet read. The characters came to life. So hopeful. I'd love to read more from this author.
This is a wonderful book that was a joy to read. It's a sweet heartwarming story that is full of emotions.
I loved it and highly recommend this book.
I received a complimentary copy and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
I enjoyed this story of a young man who runs away at a young age not letting anyone know why. Ten years later he comes back to help a family member. Will the truth come out? So glad the author turned this into a book even though it was turned down by Love Inspired. It is the publisher's loss because this is a really good story. Highly recommend!
Erin and Logan were best friends in high school. They even went to the same college. That is where they became friends with Jake. Erin and Jake end up getting engaged. Logan secretly loved Erin and couldn't handle seeing Jake and Erin marry ,so he left. A decade later, he returns to make improvements on "Aunt Betty's" home to to get it ready to sell. He is unaware that Erin (now widowed) and her 2 children are living with Aunt Betty..
I liked this book. It was a sweet story and a quick read. It shows how God will get you through your darkest days. It showed how Logan was capable of things he didn't think he was capable of. It was a bit predictable but still enjoyable. Aunt Betty was a great character. I would recommend but probably only to believers in God.
Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy.
4.5 out of 5 stars
I received an ARC via NetGalley and BooksGoSocial and am voluntarily leaving a review. The book's blurb is straightforward. Their Second Chance at Love is told through Logan and Erin's pov and is an uplifting second chance romance. This is a Christian romance but, as long as you don't have negative feelings towards God, you can still enjoy this story even if you aren't a believer. Being back in the town he grew up in is the last thing that Logan wants. It holds heartache that he is forced to confront in the form of childhood best friend, Erin. Losing her husband and raising their two children alone has been a difficult adjustment. She's still trying to keep her head above water and Logan's reappearance doesn't help that. Because of their past, there was a familiarity between them that made it easy for them to care about each other - despite the years and what had passed- but their romance was a slow burn. I liked the tiny bit of angst that existed between them as they got reacquainted. I liked the way that Logan proved himself with his actions. Their romance was a clean one consisting of sweet kisses, that were more descriptive than saying "they kissed" but weren't steamy, and no foul language was used. Overall, this sweet novella is one readers will like.
Kayla Tirrell is a new to me Author and this book was a delightful read. I’ve found a new Author that I enjoy and I’m sure I will be reading more of her books. I loved the characters and connected with them early in the book. The story was about second chances, forgiveness, overcoming grief and romance. Once I got into the story I didn’t want to put the book down. It was inspirational, heart warming and I loved the ending.
One of my favorite characters in the book was Aunt Betty. She really wasn’t an Aunt to the other characters in the story but everyone thought of her as an Aunt. Aunt Betty was a caring person who helped a lot of people and had a lot of love to pass around to those who needed it. The two main characters were Logan West and Erin Carlisle. They grew up together but the years separated them. Logan left Frostford before Erin married his best friend. Truth was that Logan was running away because not only was Erin his friend but he loved her. He couldn’t stick around and watch her marry his best friend. Erin’s two children , seven year old Samantha and 4 year old Parker were absolutely adorable. When Aunt Betty needs help Logan returns and doesn’t realize that he will be seeing a lot of Erin again while he’s helping his Aunt. Logan still has feelings for Erin. She is hurt and angry that Logan just up and left 10 years ago and never kept up with her or Jake in all that time. She hasn’t a clue why he up and left just before her wedding .
I recommend this book to readers of contemporary romance, Christian Fiction, woman’s Fiction and clean read. This book is a standalone. Their Second Chance at Love is scheduled to be released on 2/5/24.
I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions expressed here in this review are my own.

This was my first time reading a book written by Kayla Tirrel and I cried during many moments of the story. It was a book that didn’t have a lot of extra drama or other characters but focused mainly on one storyline and the characters developed in it. I enjoyed the read very much and will be looking into her other books.
There were quite a few typos in the book but other than that it was a great read.
A delightful story of forgiveness and loving compassion. A reminder that there is life and love after facing death of a loved one. An encouragement to me.
Swoon! I read this book in 1 day…such a sweet story. Watching the MMC interact with the children was precious and we all need an Aunt Betty in our world!
The ending felt a bit rushed…but everyone processes grief and moving on differently and it certainly wasn’t enough for me to take a star away in my review. When reading I’m looking for characters I love, some laughs and swoony moments, and a HEA. This book definitely delivered! I love a good single mom romance.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. Highly recommend!
A very sweet, cute Christian read. The author brought me to tears a few times, with all sorts of emotions!
"Their Second Chance at Love" is a sweet best friends/after a loss romance. Erin and Logan were best friends, then Logan and Jake meet and later on Erin and Jake end up married and have 2 children together. Jake realizes too late he's in love with Erin and takes off. The story picks up 10 years after Erin and Jake get married and about a year after Jake passes away from cancer. "Aunt Betty", the woman who took care of Logan after his parents died as a child brings Logan back to his hometown in Colorado to help her get the house ready to sell so she can move to Florida with him. What Logan doesn't know is that Erin and her two children have moved in with Aunt Betty to help them out after some financial struggles.
The characters and story are very realistic. They have real life struggles that they are dealing with, emotions that are relatable and even the children have ways of coping that are realistic to losing a parent. If you are looking for a realistic friends to lovers and what happens after the loss of a spouse/parent this book is for you.
Sweet Christian romance
Years after Erin’s husband Jake passed away, she is living with her childhood friend’s Aunt Betty, a foster mother to Logan. Erin and Logan were friends throughout school and college, including Jake in their circle when they met him at college. Erin and Jake fell in love, and Logan left the area.
Now Logan is back, years after Jake died. Erin doesn’t understand why he left, and is scared that he will sell the house that she so desperately wants to buy from Aunt Betty. Against her best judgment, her children start to form attachments to Logan, and so does she.
I enjoyed this book. There are Christian themes and commentary, but not too much. This was a fast, nice read.
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.
