✨ARC Review✨. Thank you NetGalley. All the opinions expressed are my own.

First of all, this book was hilarious. However, all the physics talk in the beginning was a little off putting and I found myself skipping over them. This was such a fun and easy ready. I, especially, enjoyed Serena and Henry switching bodies and them navigating their new realities. Highly recommend checking this book out.

This was my first read from Sarah Ready, and I didn’t realise there was a book before this one! That said, I had no trouble following along, and Switched works perfectly as a standalone. Ready does a fantastic job of exploring the comedic and heartfelt implications of such a swap. Watching Serena navigate Henry's structured world and vice versa led to numerous laugh-out-loud moments, as well as deeper reflections on identity and empathy. The chemistry between the protagonists is palpable, and their journey from misunderstanding to mutual respect and affection is both engaging and satisfying. However, there were moments when the pacing felt a bit uneven, especially during the initial setup. Once the body swap occurs, the story gains momentum and keeps you hooked, but getting there required a bit of patience.

Overall, Switched is a fun, heart-warming read that offers a fresh twist on the romantic comedy genre. If you're looking for a story that combines scientific intrigue with a touch of magic and a lot of heart, this book is definitely worth your time. I will definitely reading Sarah Ready's other books.

This was, like, next level STEM romance. Not only do you have two human beings existing in the world of STEM, but then you take it a step farther into the sci-fi/fantastical realm of literally switching bodies with the other main character?? So interesting!

Honestly, Serena was such a chaotic narrator and I was kinda here for it in a way. Not necessarily chaos in a bad way, but just so amusing to see how her thoughts bounced around and what exactly she’d come to think or say. The footnotes were an interesting touch and very on brand for the way Serena (aka Ducky)’s mind seemed to work. Not sure how it will translate into print, but for digital, the ability to bounce back and forth between main plot and footnote was a fascinating addition.

Now despite those intriguing aspects, I did have a hard time staying with the book with everything going on between the footnotes, the setup, etc. I enjoyed the difference to a point, but my easily distracted brain took waaaaaay too long to read. Like “nearly a year-long pause before returning” kind of too long to read. It’s just a lot and even after the pause and starting the story over again when I returned, my brain just took forever to connect to it.

The scientific references—while endearing in the characters’ enthusiasm for the subject—was hard to wrap my own brain around as someone not well-versed in most things scientific. I found myself skipping over a lot of the internal monologue trying to decipher the actual storyline for the romance that was promised in the book. Only to find love-at-first-sight (and subsequent first “sleepover”) which gives in to instant panic mode by the FMC—because she seems to be terrified of love and just found out he’s going to be her new boss—where she comes up with what has to be The Dumbest plan to get Henry to not pursue her. Utter chaos.

The story did get more engaging around the same time as the synopsis-mentioned body-switching moment. Certainly gave the whole “getting to know you” moment a whole new meaning which was hilarious. It’s two years later. They’ve been working together, though emotionally distantly. Freak storm hits while near a particle accelerator and BOOM! Body-swap. Once the romance got to romancing and the characters began working together to fix their situation while simultaneously learning about each other through the other’s literal eyes, the story ended up being rather sweet.

If you like opposites attract, sci-fi shenanigans kinda similar to Freaky Friday (only him and her versus mother/daughter), all the STEM talk, and a quirky yet chaotic narrator who’s a pro at the fourth wall break, check this one out.

Serena and Henry's Freaky-Friday-esque romance was the perfect follow up to Ghosted. I love how Sarah Ready takes such a unique approach to science and love while using that line between reality and possibility as a jump rope.

I typically LOVE sarah ready books but I think this one was too far fetched for me. I’d recommend all her other books but I can’t say this was a favorite for me.

Switched by Sarah Ready is a delightful and quirky romantic comedy that explores love, identity, and the unexpected consequences of science. When two polar opposites, Serena Otaki and Henry Joule, meet at The Large Hadron Collider, sparks fly—but not the kind either of them expected. After an accident at the collider, they find themselves mysteriously switched into each other’s bodies. As Serena navigates Henry’s meticulously organized life and Henry grapples with Serena’s free-spirited chaos, both are forced to confront their preconceived notions about love and life. With witty banter, endearing characters, and a fun premise, Switched is a heartwarming exploration of how opposites can attract in the most surprising of ways.

This book was everything I needed and wanted. It was fun, engaging, and had a swoony type of romance that I will recommend to everyone. I went into the book without reading the others in the series, but that didn’t stop me from having a good understanding of the story and characters (which I was worried about). Now, I can't wait to read more books by Sarah in the future.

I'm absolutely delighted with this book! I enjoyed the first installment of this series and the second one was as good as the first one! The romcom vibes and the supernatural stuff 'magic' mixed with the skeptical minds of our both protagonists was so fun and so interesting. I adore Henry and Serena <3 Definitely will be reading the rest of the series!

I love a Freaky Friday theme, and Switched by Sarah Ready was a fun read. Characters Serena Otaki and Henry Joule are opposites who realize they are soulmates when some magic intervenes.

Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for sharing this book with me.

**"Switched" by Sarah Ready** is an engaging and heartwarming romance novel that explores themes of fate, love, and self-discovery. The story follows two main characters, who find themselves unexpectedly switching lives due to a mysterious event. The narrative is filled with humor, emotional depth, and sweet chemistry, making it an enjoyable read for fans of contemporary romance. Ready's writing is charming and accessible, and she skillfully develops the characters' personal growth throughout the book. While the premise may seem familiar, the author’s unique approach keeps the story fresh and captivating. Overall, *Switched* is a delightful, feel-good novel that will leave readers smiling.

I was really excited to dive into Switched after the previous books in the series, but unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. While I still appreciate Sarah Readley's writing style, this particular installment didn't capture my attention the way the others did. The pacing felt slower, and I struggled to connect with the plot and characters as much as I did with the earlier books.

The premise of the story had promise, but I felt like the tension and romance that hooked me in the past were lacking here. The stakes didn’t feel as high, and I found myself less engaged with the romance plotline. The characters, though still interesting, didn’t have the same depth or development that made me root for them before. I kept hoping for the same magic that I had felt with earlier books, but I just didn’t find it in this one.

Overall, Switched wasn’t a bad book, but it just didn’t pull me in the same way the rest of the series did. If you're a fan of the series, you might still find something to enjoy, but for me, it didn't hit the mark. Hopefully, the next installment brings the excitement back!

I can't say I didn't like this book, hence the 3 stars. But...
The blurb let me believe this would be an equal split POV as both MCs are mentioned so strongly in it. Turns out it's just the heroine's POV throughout, which felt lacking as there was so much the hero could've covered, too.
I read on mostly to find how the body swap would be reversed, and this kept me going despite Serena getting rather grating on the nerves at times. There's also things they do as each other (a staunch vegetarian 'having' to eat meat - it almost lost me there, but again, I read on to find how it ends). It felt a bit off and icky at times to have a character seeing themselves as a love interest - like physically, Serena was 'digging' herself even though Henry was in her body - which felt very weird at times. Lots of scenery descriptions which also take away from the progression of the relationship. A huuuuge twist with Henry that's never explained or exploited (again, where his POV would've been so important!) Though the science was well done and didn't feel too obscure and flew over my head completely.
It felt like a lot of potential which was a tad squandered away. Still, it did keep me reading to get to the ending, so it's getting 3 stars overall.

This was such a fun read and I will definitely read more by Sarah Ready! It's a theme you see often in movies but it was the first time I'm reading a book with this topic. I enjoyed it and will look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

love love Sarah Ready, especially the Romeo Series. The first book in this series, Ghosted, took a bit longer to interest me, but I am glad I stuck with it and decided to carry on with the series as this 2nd one delivers all the feels/goods. thank you #netgalley

There is the charm and personality to this story. I’m not usually into science and romance blended in a story, but this one had the human at the center of it all. The graphs and lists are a nice touch that brought out so much fun in the story structure. Overall seems like a good light hearted read.

*I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher; the review is my own.*

It has been a little while since I read the first book in the series, Ghosted, but I quickly remembered why I've enjoyed Sarah Ready's books. Her writing is very . . . real and has a natural quality that makes me feel like I'm listening to someone tell a story. Or, rather, it feels kind of like I'm telling the story (but a lot better than I ever tell any story).

Overall I liked Serena and Henry. Though I could understand Serena's fears about love and marriage completely overtaking her life and changing everything about her, it truly just made me sad for her (because I am a very happily married stay-at-home mom who has no regrets about the life I'm living). Still, I can see how she would have those fears. What I didn't like was how she chose to live her life because of them, seeking physical pleasure in one-night stands and refusing to allow anyone besides her parents and her friend Jillian to truly get to know her. Although he only had one chapter of his own, I was a Henry fan right from the start. He was just so optimistic. Except when he wasn't, and for that I don't blame him (poor guy).

Something I really liked about this book was the way it explored love and how true, real love does not diminish people (or "anglerfish" them, as Serena called it)--it helps them to find and understand themselves better. Seeing Serena and Henry come to understand one another better as they were in each other's bodies was . . . I don't know. "Enjoyable" isn't the word I'm looking for (though I did enjoy it). I guess I appreciated that they each had things to learn, and they did. Sometimes it was funny, and sometimes it was awkward.

Looks like I've got ARCs of the third and fourth books already on my Kindle, so I know what I'm reading next.

How it ends:(view spoiler)

Note: Some innuendo. Vague flashbacks of sex. An unwanted encounter with a topless woman. Some unsurprising physiological responses. One chapter of sex (skip chapter 41).
