Review: This is my first @SarahReady book i have read and i am sure that it will not be my last. The pace of this book moved with ease and Serena as a character could stand on her own. The interaction between the reader and the main character kept me engaged and was refreshing to read. This book is a fantastic palate cleanser for those that are used to reading some emotionally heavier books or when coming out of a reading slump.
This books was everything.
It was so fast paced and easy to get into. Right from the start there’s drama which i love.
If you want a freaky friday romance book this is the one for you!
It was easy to follow along and a pretty fast read. You get to see the characters “overcome self challenges” i would say.
I loved how the characters helped eachother through what they were going through and they understood how it felt since it was happening to the both of them.
The tension between these two characters were unmatched. it kept you on your toes wondering.
this book was super unique i’ve never read anything quite like this. and i would definitely read more from this author
i read half this book and listened to the other half via an audio book and both were so good.
OMG I'm obsessed with these books!! I was sure this one couldn't be better than Ghosted (the first one that I just finished a couple days ago) but somehow it was?? Or maybe they're equally good, I don't know, I just know that I absolutely loved this book!!! Apparently there will be a third called Fated which I cannot wait for so I hope it's coming out soon even though technically this one isn't even out yet😂
If you read Ghosted -- the book before this one, though both can be read as standalone novels -- then you already know a little bit about Serena, basically that she's a Star Trek fan, lives in Geneva, Switzerland and is the love 'em and leave 'em type who doesn't plan to get married or fall in love. She's a California girl, super smart and funny and her one true love is physics. In Switched, we meet Henry, the love interest, who is all for love and marriage and has a big loving family that he's very close with. He's also a physics genius like Serena and after a chance encounter he's convinced she's the woman he'll marry. Well... at first. But life, and mostly Serena, have other ideas and they settle on their one night together being a mistake, which of course it is since they are complete opposites and it turns out Henry is Serena's boss -- which she finds out very shortly after their time together. Fast forward about a year and a half and, thanks to some crazy science, the two have switched bodies. The feelings they thought had been put behind them are very suddenly a complicated mess that they have no choice but to solve together since, you know, they ARE each other.
*One Night Stand

There's so much to say but how to say it without giving everything away?? First, Henry is an uptight British man from a big family who loves tea and organization and Serena is a free-spirited only child who detests tea, obviously coffee is the superior choice, and is more organized chaos than anything else. I love how they are opposites but also have their love of physics in common. I was nervous at first because it seemed like it would be instalove and in a way it is but more of a "recognizing your soulmate" kind of way that isn't easy and lovey-dovey from the jump. I love getting to see Jillian from Ghosted a little bit and that both besties have experienced completely impossible life-altering situations. The scene where Serena realizes she is very much not in her own female body is hilarious and honestly most of her scenes are. The descriptive writing and characterization is fantastic so kudos to Sarah Ready for writing funny, heartwarming, romantic, kinda suspenseful novels! Also the visual aids/doodles and the footnotes were perfect! Almost every scene had me smiling or laughing to myself and it just is a really happy read. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a feel-good, entertaining, funny romance with likable characters, banter, chemistry, magic and "Freaky Friday" references. Sarah Ready has officially become one of my new favorite authors.
This book has me wishing I was a science girl or Star Trek fan but alas I am not. This did not at all diminish my interest in the book or enjoyment of it but for any physics and Star Trek fans out there, run don't walk to your nearest bookstore or library on February 20th to grab this beauty.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book on NetGalley provided by W.W. Crown an Imprint of Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Sarah Ready is a rom-com genius - I would read anything she has written! Ghosted was one of my absolute favorite reads of 2023, so I was delighted to learn that it was the first book in a series. I was so excited! I could not wait to read the second book. And boy, did Switched deliver! I loved Serena and Henry's story so much! It exceeded all my expectations and will stay one of my top reads of 2024. This magical romantic comedy was amazing - a beautifully written love story for the ages. It's sweet, humorous, and heartwarming all at the same time. I enjoyed the fast pace of this nerdy, opposites attract romance in all its 'Freaky Friday' body switch goodness. This concept made for some hilarious moments. Sarah did a fantastic job of showcasing the difficulties that Serena and Henry faced while they were in each other's bodies. The reader is taken on a journey of discovery as they follow Serena and Henry's adventures and witness the many humorous and unexpected moments that arise from their predicament. I couldn't help but fall in love with these quirky, adorable characters as they found their way to their true love story. This unique storyline had me 100% invested. As with Sarah's books, this story will stay with me for a very long time - it's that good! Pick this up if you love a delightful rom-com full of science and geekery!
A Freaky Friday romance of 2 physicists, one that thinks love at first sight is a thing and the other not so much. Very slow build even with the audiobook but I did enjoy it once the switch happened.
Like the first book, Ghosted, very nerdy and STEM focus which I enjoy. This can be read as a stand-alone or apart of the series. They do bring up the characters from the first novel a couple a times.
At first I loved to second view towards the end but I had 2 issues. 1. I wish it was a different narrator or this other listen to the previous voice to ensure that they are matching accents. 2. The chapter felt like it dragged, they were needing to fill space for this one person and half of it seemed to mimic the same book we just read.
𝚃𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚊 𝚑𝚘𝚗𝚎𝚜𝚝 𝚘𝚙𝚒𝚗𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚘𝚏 𝚊𝚗 𝚊𝚍𝚟𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚎 𝚌𝚘𝚙𝚢.
I have only recently discovered Sarah Ready and I continue to be impressed with all of her books. The science in this book was a bit over the top for me (yep, I didn't understand half of it...lol) but it set up the story perfectly.
I would recommend reading, Ghosted, before Switched.
Thank you to NetGalley & Sarah Ready for the eARC, I will definitely be recommending this book/series!
I’ve always heard that the feeling of finding a great love is electric, and that’s exactly what happens when Henry and Serena meet in a bar and experience a night to remember. The only problem is, a freak storm causes an electric current to run through Serena and Henry, and when they wake up, they’re in each other’s bodies.
Sarah Ready’s writing reminds me of what it was like to be a kid, waiting for the new episode of my favorite Disney channel show to premiere at 8:30, despite the fact that my bedtime was always 8. It brings on a sense of anticipation; it keeps you on your toes, waiting to see what comes next with a sense of excitement as you go on the journey to get there.
I’m a lover to books that depict women in STEM, especially romance novels. I loved that Serena, the FMC, was as humorous as she was intelligent, as caring as she was witty, and as thoughtful as she was beautiful (which she noticed a lot from Henry’s perspective lol).
Switched was a fresh story that held my interest from beginning to end. I truly loved these characters 🤍
First off the writing in this book was beautiful. I’ve added so many quotes from this book to my reading journal because, wow.
You have a smart, strong FMC and a smart, secure MMC and the combo of was magnetic. While reading their story you just KNEW they belonged together. This is 100% opposites attract, the MMC is not afraid to go for what he wants and wears his heart on his sleeve while the FMC is fearless in everything EXCEPT commitment and it is for that reason that they were perfect for each other.
If this sounds interesting, if you love freaky friday and if you also want to learn about science (i felt so smart while reading, another plus) then give this book a try!
4.5/5
This was such a lovely romance, I was smiling throughout it. It reminded me of all the teen body swap movies but with a new modern and adult twist of course. Serena and Henry are very different but I could feel the chemistry they had instantly. Even if I don't understand half of it I love all the science talk as well, always a plus to have women in STEM representation. In the beginning I wished she had been more honest with Henry and not so mean but I understand she did it because all her relationship fears. Their interactions were funny and heartfelt, specially when they have to meet each others family and navigate being each other. It would have been nice to have some chapters from Henry's point of view and see how he reacted when he woke up switched. This was really enjoyable and will definitely check out the author's other works.
Thank You to NetGalley, W.W. Crown and Sarah Ready for the opportunity to read this and leave an honest review.
Oh my goodness, I loved this book so much! Sarah Ready was already at the top of my favorite authors list, and this one moves her up even higher! Switched has some major Ali Hazelwood vibes, with lots of sciencey nerd-talk, which I love! I laughed, cried, laughed some more, and absolutely couldn't put this book down! Figuring out my next book after reading this one is going to be tough, I may just have to read Ghosted again;) Switched is absolutely a book I will be adding to by bookshelf and recommending to all of my friends. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
For lovers of Ali Hazelwood, I highly recommend reading this cute and quirky book about science and love!
Thank you to Net Galley, the author, W.W. Crown, and Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC for allowing me early access to this book.
Some aspects I loved:
-All the STEM reference, similes, and metaphors like:
“His touch is hot, and I light up, my blood magnetized and rushing at the speed of light.”
“His expression is perfectly neutral. Neutral like Switzerland, a neutron, or a pH of 7.”
-The Freaky Friday-like main plot line was very unique and well done. It led to some funny parts of the novel. For example, the MMC experiencing period pain in the FMC’s body for the first time was absolutely hilarious.
-The characters, despite their flaws, were very likable and relatable. I’m also a scientist and could really understand Serena’s fear that love and change would prevent her from progressing in the career she loves.
Parts of the book that could have been better:
-While I thought the writing was overall really great and beautiful, the term “smashing atoms” was used way too many times in my opinion.
-While I understand this is a paranormal romcom and obviously some aspects are supposed to be unrealistic (exhibit A: switching bodies during a crazy storm), I thought the most unrealistic thing in the book was the heavy instalove in the beginning 🫣. I think the fallout and slowburn through the rest of the book makes up for this though!
-I would have loved more of Henry’s point of view! ❤️
Overall, a great 4 star read to start off the year! I definitely plan on reading Sarah Ready’s first book of this series, Ghosted, after really enjoying this read.
I highly recommend for people who enjoy the following:
-STEM romance 🧪
-Paranormal romance 👻
-opposites attract 🧲
-forced proximity 🤝
-workplace romance 🏢
-fake dating 👫
-MMC falls first 💗
When i realized this was a sequel to Ghosted.. Oh my! did i jump for it and as always Sarah ready didn't disappoint
Thank you Netgalley for granting me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.
Synopsis:
This story is about Serena and Henry whose first encounter with one another starts with a little scene in a Geneva Pub, For Henry, it's love at first sight and a woman he wants forever
For Serena, commitment is not a word in her dictionary, she comes up with a scheme and gets rid of Henry
But the universe has other plans for her
1. Henry is her new boss and
2. Thunder, storm, sparks, stars collide and the universe comes to a halt and
then magically they switch.... Serena is Henry, Henry is Serena
what i loved:
1. Their chemistry .. sweet, captivating, sweetly alluring that i found myself envying and laughing throughout their encounter
2. I loved that it centered on relationship at a much deeper level unlike other plots where romance and intimacy lead, Their story focuses on understanding, commitment, emotional connections, growth and lastly intimacy
3. I loved how family impact was portrayed in the book.. how upbringing can greatly affect how you view a certain things in life
4.I loved the writing style and how characters and emotions were told throughout the book
5. As a tea lover, an obvious one ... All the tea cravings
What i didn't like
1. Just like in Ghosted, what bothered me was how Serena had so many theories that sometimes she went completely off topic but as the book progresses i understood her character and the portrayal of her chaotic mind and also that it comes with a job
2. I wish we got Henry's POV as well instead of just a peek.
so it's obvious that i loved this one very much and it gets a 4 star from my side
I'd recommend it to anyone who's life is a little too serious lately and definitely needs a good laugh and maybe a miracle (an impossible one like this one)
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of Switched by Sarah Ready. As much as I tried, I just could not get along with the writing style of this one. The constant fourth wall breaking really took me out of the story and the footnotes got confusing quickly. The dialogue and word choices were cringey at times. Overall it was a quick rom-com with a magical twist and I would recommend if you’re a fan of the ‘body swap’ trope, as this is the main premise of the story.
Wow, this book surprised me how much I couldn’t put it down. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC. Great love story with many twists and turns and laugh out loud moments. I loved both of the main characters even them being total opposite. I absolutely loved this book and will look for other books by this author.
It took me a little longer to get into this book compared to its predecessor, Ghosted, but it did hit the same emotional arcs and was incredibly written. I wasn’t certain this should be a series as Ghosted was one of my favorite reads last year but this book held its own. I loved it!
This is a unique take on the switching trope. It has some cute moments that definitely make you feel for the characters, but there are some odd inconsistencies with the switching. As long as I didn't think too much about things like - they had the cravings, thoughts, and memories of the other person, but didn't get their accent and had to learn to fake it - it was a more enjoyable read. Although, I did get secondhand embarrassment for them as they experienced uncomfortable realities of the other person's body like having a period.
As far as the characters go, I struggled to connect with Serena initially, I found her to be ditzy and a bit insufferable, and her behavior does not fit the intelligent STEM woman that she is supposed to be. On the flip side, Henry is adorable and I felt bad for him and thought he deserved better for most of the book. Luckily, Serena does grow after being switched, so I'm glad I kept reading to see that happen and it made the HEA feel more plausible.
Overall, it's a silly take on the women in STEM and switched tropes. Just don't think too much while reading it and you'll enjoy it more.
Sarah Ready has been on my radar for a while now, and seeing the opportunity to read an early copy of this new novel, I had both an e-arc and and ald this title, and after listening for a few chapters, switched to the ebook (while both narrators are talented, the ebook has footnotes and diagrams that the audio is missing).
Despite a slow start, I really enjoyed this Freaky Friday / science-y romcom a lot. Engagingly humorous and well written, the longing in this one was spot on.
This was my first time reading the author’s work; it won’t be the last 😍
Thank you to Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC and NetGalley for the ALD and DRC
I am seriously amazed by Sarah Ready. She has the amazing ability to create such unique storylines.
Switched is Freaky Friday inspired, but a man and woman swap. To say it's hilarious is an understatement. This might be Sarah's funniest book yet.
I both read and listened to it and it was fabulous in both formats, the audio production was superb and may have made it even more funny.
Highly entertaining, laugh out loud funny and a good dose of LOVE
“Switched” is a fun, body-switching story sure to be loved by fans of romantic comedies. Serena (FMC) is a quirky, nerdy, free-spirited and permanently unattached physicist who loves Star Trek, coffee, and her cat. One day, she meets Henry (MMC), a hunk of a Brit who loves his hot tea, organizing, and is on the search for the love of his life. After an enjoyable meet cute, they soon realize that they are too different to be together… until an electric storm causes them to switch bodies and changes their lives forever.
Reading this book made me feel like Serena was a loveable, if sometimes chaotic, incredibly stubborn friend. I loved her passion for her career and physics. As a self-proclaimed nerd, I found it really fun that Serena had a lot of nerdy hobbies and passions. There were some details regarding physics and theories that I was unfamiliar with, however I think that the author did a great job at briefly explaining them and giving them context without sounding too confusing. I thought the footnotes and diagrams were a fun addition to the story.
Switched is the second in the a series, however it can easily be read as a standalone. There was a brief mention of the first book (Ghosted), however I didn’t find anything confusing or unexplained having not read the previous book.
As a fan of rom-coms, I really enjoyed this book! The writing style was friendly and funny, and I felt like this book was a great escape from daily life. I recommend this book for fans of rom-coms, women in STEM, opposites attract, and (of course) Freaky Friday!
Thank you very much to the author (Sarah Ready), the publisher (W.W. Crown an Imprint of Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC, Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), and Members' Audiobooks), and NetGalley for providing an advanced copy of both the ebook and the audiobook for me to review!

Narrated by Kelsey Navarro Foster and James Anderson Foster
I listen to this book thanks to W. W. Crown, an imprint of Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC, Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Members' Audiobooks
In the audiobook, I found it challenging to maintain the flow of the story whenever the footnotes were introduced. They were distracting and took away from the overall experience. However, the narration was simply outstanding, and the protagonists were fantastic. The plot was straightforward and easy to follow, making for an engaging and enjoyable listening experience. I recommend purchasing the book.
This quick and delightful romantic comedy starts off at a rapid pace. The way Henry's worlds collide is hilarious and thoroughly enjoyable. I loved how the book revisited Jillian from the previous book in the series. Switched is reminiscent of Freaky Friday, with additional funny moments that will make you laugh out loud. The cross-world travel in this book adds to the fun, especially when Henry's brother is getting married and is in Serena's body, forcing Serena to step in as the best man. There are some lovely moments where we see how different Henry and Serena are, yet how much they care for each other. I loved the connection they had with each other's bodies. It was great to see Daniel and Jillian from the previous book in the series make an appearance, which made me smile. The romance aspect of the book was fast at times and slow at others, but it worked well due to the short time skipped.
