I made a point to read the 1st book in the series before listening to this book and I do think it helped.

Good points: the writing was very well done and the narrator was excellent. I enjoyed listening to it! The story flowed easily and went right along.

Bad Points: Male and females should not swap. I don't even think this is a heterosexual couple thing, I think this is just across the board, It was just weird, gross, yucky, and so many other adjectives!! And swapping bodies shouldn't mean your personality and what makes you who you are changes. I am still me! It was just yuck having Serena fall for Henry while Henry looked and acted like her (suddenly he likes coffee, like her, instead of his usual tea) and liking how her hands felt caressing her (while she was in Henry's body). I just couldn't get past it. She falls in love with Henry as her, not Henry, in my opinion.

I am giving 2 stars because the writing was very good and the flow of the book was good.

The style of writing for this isn't usually my cup of tea -- the first person sometimes quasi-breaking a fourth wall -- but it worked here, probably because it was somewhat necessary to pull off the crazy plot. I wasn't sure if I would be able to suspend disbelief with the premise, but I found I eventually was able to because Ready's capable description of the experience from each perspective worked so well. And of course, I laughed out loud endlessly at the period pains, so frankly, the book was worth reading just for that.

Serena Otaki is a self-proclaimed science geek, happily single and focused on her work—until a mishap at a bar leaves her stuck to a booth seat due to some freshly applied varnish. With no warning sign in sight, Serena is relieved when Henry Jones comes to her rescue, offering his coat to help her get unstuck. What starts as a flirty encounter quickly escalates into a steamy night, but Serena isn’t ready for anything serious. However, when an unexpected electric storm, combined with a bit of science, causes their consciousnesses to swap bodies, Serena and Henry find themselves navigating each other’s lives. Now, they must work together to figure out how to reverse the switch—and learn a lot more about each other in the process.

I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Kelsey Navarro Foster and James Addison Foster, and their performances were both charming and engaging. I could easily connect with the characters as they experienced the body swap and dealt with family dynamics. Serena’s humorous comments and footnotes to the audience added a unique touch, but at times, they detracted from the main story. They provided valuable insights into Serena’s life philosophy but occasionally pulled me out of the more emotionally-driven moments between her and Henry.

I listened at my usual speed of 1.5x and found the pacing to be just right for the audiobook format. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience that blended humor, romance, and a touch of science fiction in a fun, lighthearted way.

I couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for Henry. He falls for Serena, but she’s either unable or unwilling to look past the physical, until, of course, she ends up in his body and can no longer walk away. The humor in their body swap is undeniable as they navigate each other’s lives, dealing with family dynamics and unexpected situations along the way.

Overall, it’s a lighthearted and romantic read, full of laughs and heartwarming moments.

This is a unique and fun read that held my interest from start to finish. The story is well-crafted, with interesting characters that I enjoyed getting to know. The author did a nice job in creating vivid imagery that made it easy to immerse myself in the world they crafted.
Serena and Henry are both physicists, both completely loving what they do. But where Serena is completely content in her world of atoms, messiness and chaos, and has no plan of finding that special someone, Henry thrives on cleanliness and orderliness and is ready to settle down. When Henry and Serena meet, there undoubtedly is an attraction between them and sparks fly. But they are total opposites and completely wrong for each other. Then, during an electrical storm, something freaky happens and they switch bodies. Now is when the magic happens and they get a true glimpse of each other's lives.
The pacing was just right, balancing suspense, and emotion, with a touch of sci-fi which made this an entertaining read.
The plot twists were surprising but felt natural, keeping the story engaging without seeming forced. Each chapter left me eager to see what would happen next. I listened to this as an audiobook which made the experience even better. The narration was done well and really brought the story to life.

Another fantastic instalment from Sarah Ready - I love each book in this series as much as the last!

This was surprisingly good! Freaky Friday but with a sciencey romance twist. It gave me Ali Hazlewood vibes and satisfied my need for a light rom com that didn’t take itself too seriously.

Why are there not more people talking about Sarah Ready and her books! Switched is the second I have ready by this author and both times I was instantly drawn in why the fun storyline, likeable characters and great writing. Switched is a fun semi paranormal/fantasy type of romance and a premise that had me questioning how it would work. Freaky Friday but its between our two love interests? How? It shouldn’t work as seamlessly as it does, but it does. I was never confused as to which character was who and I LOVED how Serena and Henry were able to get to know one and other by literally seeing through the others eyes and understanding each other on a cellular level.

This story was so well done and flowed beautifully. Switched had be laughing out loud, gasping in surprise and full on fan girling over the story. I highly recommend this one, low on angst but high on the rom com aspect. I love how enjoyable Switched was, I truly did not want to put it down! I will continue to reach for this author’s work, because so far I have not been disappointed.

This was another fun magical (?) rom com. I thought the concept was super interesting: a Freaky Friday but with a romantic interest. The parts where they lost me a little were breaking the fourth wall (just not something I enjoy), the weirder experience of swapping bodies with someone of the opposite sex, and the seemingly immediate knowledge of love during a first meeting hookup. It should be a red flag if a guy you meet in a bar tells you you’re “the one” with sincerity - but I do understand it’s not meant to be realistic. I I otherwise enjoyed the cast of characters and their journeys.

First, I love Kelsey Navarro as a narrator! The first time I heard her narration was Sarah Ready's French Holiday. I laughed so much listening to that book, that when I saw this author/narrator combination again, I immediately clicked request.
I did not read/listen to Ghosted, but feel Switched can be listened as a stand alone book.
I enjoyed both the story and the stellar narration.
I'll be adding more Sarah Ready books to my TBR.

Having already read the eBook, I decided to dive into the audiobook version as well. While the narrators were decent, I found them to be just okay.

This book was a really fun read. The romance was cute and I loved the concept of a body swap romance. It was great to get a dual POV and understand the characters thoughts throughout the process.
It had a really great ending and tied everything off well.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and am really glad I listened to it.

What a great book. The audiobook was just what I needed to get through those crazy car line times. It had just the touch of magic and spice that I needed and the book moved quickly. It was my first read by Sarah Ready and it definitely won't be my last. I think they chose the perfect match for the narration to keep me intrigued. A great continuation of the series and I cant wait to read more of the series and see where it leads.

This book is like Freaky Friday meets romance! The concept is really fun and Sarah Ready creates great character. The narrators were excellent and I was engaged through the entire story.

Another great story by Sarah Ready! Switched is the second book in the Ghosted series, as main characters Serena and Henry have a Freaky Friday moment and switch bodies.

I thought this was an interesting concept for a book and I think it worked quite nicely. An enjoyable read/listen for sure.

This is a late feedback on Netgalley from me for this! This was my first Sarah Ready book and for sure wasn't my last. This story hooked me into her writing style and I know own almost all her books 🤣❤️ this story was so good and very funny at times. Got Freaky Friday Vibes plus some Ali Hazelwood STEM!

I have to say that I am not a fan of the instalove trope.
Still, even if they fall in love at first sight, it takes a while until they finally decide they should be together.

There are some funny moments, a lot of physics information that I did not understand and magic (switching bodies).

The narators did a good job.

I loved the first book in this series, with this being the second. Such a fun romcom for the summer months and mix it with Freaky Friday and this is the outcome. Look forward to more from this series.
