I am speechless. This book was so so so good. The chemistry, the longing, the understanding…it was beautiful! My heart ached for Serena and Henry. Everything was just perfectly woven together for their story. Also, going to Google is Sarah a scientist because the level of detail about CERN, different theories, and such was incredible. I can’t recommend this book enough!

Kelsey was fantastic as always. The number of voices she had to maintain was mind blowing and she executed it perfectly! James was a nice addition to the story (he just narrated one chapter).

Sarah Ready’s second novel in the Ghosted series is a real gem. It’s fun, frothy, flirty and doesn’t take itself too seriously- everything you look for in a romcom. I’ve never read Sarah Ready before, let alone the first in the Ghosted series and it didn’t matter a jot, I loved it.

This is very much a romcom with a smattering of sci fi (body swap / Freaky Friday-esk story line) with two main characters who are physicists and both love science. One loves the idea of love and can’t wait to embrace all that entails into his life, and one who absolutely, definitely hates the idea and sees love as a takeover rather than a merger and has no time for any of it in her career driven life. After a one night stand where their world’s collide Henry believes he’s experienced love at first sight whereas Serena believes she has had a great night of unbelievable sex and a ‘bit of fun’. And then they find out Henry is actually Serena’s new boss and in an experiment gone awry the inconceivable happens and Henry ends up in Serena’s body and Serena’s in Henry’s. And so the whacky begins with Serena and Henry getting to know each other literally from the inside out.

I was sent Switched as an Audiobook in exchange for an honest review and the narration was most excellent, it truly bought the book alive. The writing and narration work hand in hand, the writing makes us like and embrace the warmth of the characters and the narration makes us love them.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of Switched by Sarah Ready. As much as I tried, I just could not get along with the writing style of this one. The constant fourth wall breaking really took me out of the story and the footnotes got confusing quickly. The dialogue and word choices were cringey at times. Overall it was a quick rom-com with a magical twist and I would recommend if you’re a fan of the ‘body swap’ trope, as this is the main premise of the story.

Well, if you love all things science, nerdy, and flirty - this is for you! Unfortunately, I do not. I was very much looking forward to this, especially based on others' reviews. I SO tried, but I didn't get far. The conversations were way over my head, and I just ended up having no idea what was going on. I plan to try again when perhaps when I have more mental space to take it in, and in the e-book format (there are apparently footnotes that don't lend well to audio).

The narrators, Kelsey Navarro Foster and James Anderson Foster were both excellent, though. I would seek them out for sure.

This was an audiobook for me and while the narration was great, the content was not for me. It's definitely more heavy on the language and innuendo than I would prefer. It was a DNF for me, but only because of my sensitivity level. The concept seemed super fun, and it's too bad I was unable to finish it.

I enjoyed reading this story and it was very entertaining. There are some nerdy sidebars and analogies used throughout the book as both main characters are physicists. They didn't bother me at all and I enjoyed them but it could be offputting for some. While the switched bodies trope has been played out in many books, movies, and TV shows, I thought it was really neat that the author included little aspects that you don't usually see. For example, getting your period, and other body functions, but what I found most interesting was the things the person's body craved and memories were experienced by the other person in that body. I thought those were neat little twists on the trope that you don't typically see. I also got massive secondhand embarrassment in situations experienced by both main characters. Overall, I thought this was a very entertaining read and I didn't want to put the book down.

A fantastic audio book to make any listener’s day. All you really need to know is the book title says it all. ‘Switched’ for adults; and Zelda is back!!! (Listen/read Ghosted and you’ll understand why this pleased me so much.) Sarah Ready writes super entertaining adult rom-coms that are so much fun to escape into. She gives us so many observations of the human condition that had me laughing again and again. Thank you to W. W. I tried. I tried so hard to love this - but I didn't.
I WANTED to love this because I adore Sarah Ready. But this one was a fail for me
Didn't finish - listened to 33% and I just could NOT continue.
Narrators were amazing - some of my faves.
Different strokes for different strokes and this one, well - sadly, it's just not my jam.

I am seriously amazed by Sarah Ready. She has the amazing ability to create such unique storylines.

Switched is Freaky Friday inspired, but a man and woman swap. To say it's hilarious is an understatement. This might be Sarah's funniest book yet.

I both read and listened to it and it was fabulous in both formats, the audio production was superb and may have made it even more funny.

Sarah Ready has been on my radar for a while now, and seeing the opportunity to read an early copy of this new novel, I had both an e-arc and and ald this title, and after listening for a few chapters, switched to the ebook (while both narrators are talented, the ebook has footnotes and diagrams that the audio is missing).

Despite a slow start, I really enjoyed this Freaky Friday / science-y romcom a lot. Engagingly humorous and well written, the longing in this one was spot on.

“Switched” is a fun, body-switching story sure to be loved by fans of romantic comedies. Serena (FMC) is a quirky, nerdy, free-spirited and permanently unattached physicist who loves Star Trek, coffee, and her cat. One day, she meets Henry (MMC), a hunk of a Brit who loves his hot tea, organizing, and is on the search for the love of his life. After an enjoyable meet cute, they soon realize that they are too different to be together… until an electric storm causes them to switch bodies and changes their lives forever.

Reading this book made me feel like Serena was a loveable, if sometimes chaotic, incredibly stubborn friend. I loved her passion for her career and physics. As a self-proclaimed nerd, I found it really fun that Serena had a lot of nerdy hobbies and passions. There were some details regarding physics and theories that I was unfamiliar with, however I think that the author did a great job at briefly explaining them and giving them context without sounding too confusing. I thought the footnotes and diagrams were a fun addition to the story.

Switched is the second in the a series, however it can easily be read as a standalone. There was a brief mention of the first book (Ghosted), however I didn’t find anything confusing or unexplained having not read the previous book.

In addition to the ebook, I also had the pleasure of listening to the audiobook version of Switched! The narrator had a great voice and added a lot of personality to Serena. There was a small part of the story told from Henry’s POV, and I will admit that the narrator’s voice seemed to sound much older than fit Henry’s description. While I found the footnotes and diagrams to be a charming addition to the ebook, they didn’t translate well to the audiobook. Because I have both versions, if I was listening to the audiobook and heard a description of a diagram (i.e. “Here we gave a graph…”), I could go back later to reference it in the ebook. If I only had the audiobook version I feel that these descriptions may have been a little more confusing than helpful.

As a fan of rom-coms, I really enjoyed this book! The writing style was friendly and funny, and I felt like this book was a great escape from daily life. I recommend this book for fans of rom-coms, women in STEM, opposites attract, and (of course) Freaky Friday!

This review is going to look a lot like my review for Ghosted. The beginning was promising with some witty banter which I’m always a fan of. But then it just got too “insta-lovey” which made the romance hard to connect with and took away from my enjoyment of the book unfortunately. This will be a fun read for a lot of people and I’m bummed it didn’t work for me.

Love isn't in their future. Until an electric storm causes an unexpected event at the particle collider and suddenly—they've switched. Serena is in Henry's body. Henry is in Serena's body. And both life and love are suddenly very, very complicated.

This book took me a little time to get into. The start was super cringe but quickly pulled me in and before I knew it I was invested in the body switching Sci fi romance!
It was funny, especially the initial scenes after the switch. I definitely laughed out loud a few times!
The narrator was great but I didn't love her English accent for Henry. I think I would have preferred to have the male narrator speak for Henry throughout rather than just at the end.
The development of the romantic relationship was great, and well paced.

In the audiobook, I found it challenging to maintain the flow of the story whenever the footnotes were introduced. They were distracting and took away from the overall experience. However, the narration was simply outstanding, and the protagonists were fantastic. The plot was straightforward and easy to follow, making for an engaging and enjoyable listening experience. I recommend purchasing the book.

This quick and delightful romantic comedy starts off at a rapid pace. The way Henry's worlds collide is hilarious and thoroughly enjoyable. I loved how the book revisited Jillian from the previous book in the series. Switched is reminiscent of Freaky Friday, with additional funny moments that will make you laugh out loud. The cross-world travel in this book adds to the fun, especially when Henry's brother is getting married and is in Serena's body, forcing Serena to step in as the best man. There are some lovely moments where we see how different Henry and Serena are, yet how much they care for each other. I loved the connection they had with each other's bodies. It was great to see Daniel and Jillian from the previous book in the series make an appearance, which made me smile. The romance aspect of the book was fast at times and slow at others, but it worked well due to the short time skipped.

It took me a bit to figure out who was in whose body, as I did this as an audio book. Once I got the hang of it, I loved it! It is a STEM based book. I cracked up at a few things, the way she describes some of the scenes is hilarious. Butterfly negligée’ and Henry is all I am going to say. Haha I have only read this series by Sarah Ready but I can’t wait to read more of her books!

I was really close to DNFing this at the start. It felt as though I was at a physics lecture and I was having a bunch of technical anecdotes thrown at me. I'm really pleased that I pushed through though, because once we got to the switch, it became more of your standard romcom. I really enjoyed the dynamics between the characters as they navigated their commitments in each other's bodies. The audiobook was pretty well done too.

This was a cute twist on Freaky Friday. I don't know where the body switching idea came from but I will always associate it the movie Freaky Friday 🤷🏻‍♀️ I was honestly entertained because they even mentioned the movie in the book 😂

I knew this was a STEM romance but I wasn't prepared for the funny and cute things they would say. I loved them! One of the first ones I came across:
"That makes me feel as if I'm sitting next to a generator, plugged in and buzzing with delicious stroking energy." Chapter 2

Did I ever think I would giggle at a line that compared her to a generator? Nope, but here I am 🤷🏻‍♀️

I also really enjoyed this narrator! I think she kind of had a hard one to work with here since she had to do the different accents and try to make them sound like the same person's voice but with or without an accent. (I realize that may be confusing but it will make sense if you read/listen to this one!) She really did amazing!

I would've liked if there was a bit more in Henry's POV than there was, alllsssoo would've liked a littttle more detail on Geneva. I've always wanted to visit Switzerland and was hoping for a bit more on the town/country.

This was such a fast-paced, funny, charming story with very great characters. I really enjoyed them both, but Henry just had something about him that made me love him that bit more; the side characters were also a very good addition to the story, the were all very likable in their own ways, It hooked me right in and had me interested all the way to the end; I found the footnotes especially to be such a fun addition.

However, the romance aspect felt a bit rushed and not flashed out enough to me; I'm also not a huge fan of the instalove trope so that also threw me off a bit, but it wasn't enough to take me out of the story. Also, the ending did feel a bit rushed, but I can't figure out what exactly was about it I didn't really like.

I listened to the audiobook and it was so great! The narrator was lovely, she truly brought Serena to life with all her quirks and magnificently embodied her personality.

Overall, it was a very cute book, I had so much fun with it and it was easy to overlook what I didn't really enjoy; I think the narration played a key role in it, as it made it so much fun to get through. I would absolutely recommend it.

I really enjoyed this book. At first, I wasn't sure about it, and it felt a bit slow, but once I got into it, I ended up loving it!

The story is about Serena and Harry, who end up switching bodies, and then they spend considerable time trying to switch them back. I found this story really interesting and funny, and it was really entertaining.

I thought the audiobook was fantastic, and the two narrators did a great job.

I highly recommend this book!
