If you are a regular visitor to the blog, you will know that I am a Lisa Gardner fan. I am yet to find one of her books that do not wow me. The introduction of Frankie Elkin in 2022 has kept me eager for the next story. I even have my husband reading this series. I love this character and simply cannot get enough.
Still See You Everywhere, the latest thriller in the series take you on a gripping journey into the dark realms of a female serial killer’s past. Frankie Elkin, a seasoned expert in locating forgotten missing persons, faces her most challenging assignments yet – to find the long-lost sister of a notorious murderer on death row.
The Beautiful Butcher, Kaylee Pierson, had terrorised the nation with her gruesome acts, leaving eighteen men dead. Despite her tragic upbringing, the media had dubbed her heartlessly as “the devil”. With only three weeks until her execution, Pierson reaches out too Frankie, offering a lead on her kidnapped sister in exchange for help. The catch? Finding the living is a rare outcome in Frankie’s line of work. Intrigued and unable to resist a potential rescue mission, Frankie delves into the case. Leilani, a five-year-old girl, vanished twelve years ago in Hawaii, with Pierson’s ex-boyfriend, Sanders MacManus as the prime subject. Fresh evidence emerges on a remote Pacific Island, the site of MacManus’ latest project. Frankie must infiltrate the isolated base camp, navigating a web of strangers harbouring dangerous secrets, with no means of calling for help. As if the challenge weren’t daunting enough, a storm adds another layer of complexity to Frankie’s mission.
The author weaves a tale of suspense, blending psychological tension with a race against time. The characters are intricately developed, with Frankie Elkin standing out as a resilient and resourceful protagonist. The story’s remote setting adds an extra layer of claustrophobia and isolation, enhancing the suspense as Frankie confronts a group of potential suspects.
Lisa’s Gardner’s vivid descriptions bring the island to life, making you feel the tension, fear and uncertainty that Frankie experiences. The plot twists and turns, keeping you guessing until the final page. The author builds the suspense, creating a sense of urgency that propels the narrative forward while leaving you unable to put this book down.
This book is a riveting thriller that explores the darkness within human nature while showcasing the strength and determination of its protagonist. Lisa Gardner’s storytelling prowess shines in this tale of mystery, danger and the unyielding pursuit of justice.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House UK for an ARC of this book.
This was an unputdownable book which I loved from start to finish.
Frankie Elkin searches for missing people. She is taken to a remote Hawaiian Island to find the younger sister of a female serial killer who is awaiting execution in 3 weeks.
I felt as if I was on the island with the great descriptions of the flora, fauna and extremes of weather. Plus some examples of the Hawaiian language!
The tension builds, the many twists occur and I could feel the heat building, not only from the tropical climate.
This was the third of the 3 Frankie Elkin books.....and I will definitely now read the first two!

I have read nearly all Lisa Gardner`s books so was excited to get to read this one, but it was disappointing, it was more a book on nature describing all the animals than a mystery book and so did not get all the way through it.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC and I give my honest review.

Overall I loved this storyline, I found it slow going for the first half then it picked up pace and I didn't want to put it down. Amazing twist near the end! I definitely didn't see that one coming!

I have been a huge fan of Lisa Gardner from book 1 and I really enjoyed the first 2 in the Frankie series. This one I did enjoy once I got into it but it’s definitely not my favourite.
The story of Frankie being hired by a female serial killer to find her missing Sister ( who isn’t infact missing) I found to be a little far fetched. But that aside, I really like Frankie and I do look forward to more of her adventures and this one did keep me gripped at times. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this advance copy.

So this is the third book 'starring' Frankie Elkin. who is a nomad and enjoys finding missing people in America. It was not until I finished the book that I realised I had missed the previous two. However, the book stood alone and a quite exciting read with superb characters and a storyline involving a death row serial killer, her younger sister and the FBI. Oh, and Frankie!

Frankie’s adventures take her to a isolated island, Pomaikai, seemingly part of the Hawaii territories. This island/atoll was being developed by a billionaire owner, as an ecological hotel complex. At this stage it is so easy to spoil the new reader's enjoyment as quite a bit happens. Enough, I would say, to be a TV drama?

Apart from a mysterious book title, I loved the read and devoured the book quicker than normal.

Looking forward to Frankie 1 and 2.

Thanks to Net Galley and Random House UK Cornerstone for the chance to read and read and review. the book.

Frankie specialises in finding missing people but even she is surprised to find herself meeting a serial killer on Death Row, the Beautiful Butcher, who urges her to track down her younger sister Leilani who, according to the serial killer, is being held captive by a millionaire - the Butcher's ex-boyfriend no less.

Frankie's mission sees her travelling to a tiny isolated island near Hawaii, where the millionaire, Saunders MacManus is planning to build a luxury resort. Here she encounters a group of people all working for MacManus in various capacities – as cooks, as an engineer, an architect, an environmentalist amongst others. But the island is very isolated from the outside world with almost no internet connection and soon after Frankie and one of her co-workers discover a body, things take a very strange turn (or three!) indeed.

I struggled to get into this at first but then it swept me along at breakneck speed. It really is a proper page-turner but rather more flawed than I was expecting. I’m a big fan of Lisa Gardner but I didn’t feel this was one of her best – it seemed a bit odd to me that Frankie would be asked to track down the ‘missing’ sister of a serial killer by the serial killer herself when in fact the younger sister is hardly missing, given that it seems half the world knows she’s the ward of MacManus. But there are quite a few plot twists which mean that you’re kept guessing until the very end …

I would like to thank #NetGalley and #RandomHouseUK for an #ARC of #StillSeeYouEverywhere.
This book is number 3 in a series.
Frankie finds missing people as a hobby. Against her better judgement she takes on a case involving a serial killer. What is the story around the beautiful butcher and her sister?
This was a different book than I thought I was getting into, more humorous in parts, and almost verging on chick lit vs thriller in parts. This drew me to the book so much more. The author made this book especially easy to read and addictive, I couldn't even put it down while brushing my teeth!!
I haven't read the other books in the series, but I will certainly be adding them to my TBR list after reading this. Also I don't feel that I lost any of Frankie's past by not having read her other adventures.
I highly recommend this book.

I've been enjoying this series so far. This was no different.
Frankie is an interesting character who honestly needs some help.
The story in this book did intrigue me but didn't captivate me the way book one in the series did. I didnt find myself trying to figure it out but I still enjoyed the ride.
There were plenty of twists. But I'm also left unsure how I feel about the ending, while it makes sense for those characters I still feel it was a little easy.

Lisa Gardner never disappoints me. This her latest novel has all the hallmarks I expected. The plot is really clever with lots of twists and turns. I was hooked from the start.

Another exciting read from this author about a woman on death row desperate to find her missing sister before she is put to death. This turns into a twist and turn of a novel where no one is to be trusted but you won’t be able to put it down.

When serial killer “The Beautiful But her” is given a date for her execution, her lawyer recruits Frankie to try and locate her sister, who has been made the ward of a multi-billionaire who just happens to be the killers former lover. So far so complicated. Set on a remote island somewhere off Hawaii, it soon becomes apparent that locating the sister isn’t the plan at all.

I’ve not read the first books in this series, but this didn’t detract from this thriller (and I am going to go and read them now). It’s super fast paced and thrill a minute. Excellent.

LISA GARDNER – STILL SEE YOU EVERYWHERE ****

Frankie Elkin is an alcoholic who searches for missing people, often dead, to give the families some sort of peace when they know the truth. But this is not the usual sort of missing person. The Beautiful Butcher, in prison for slaughtering eighteen men and about to die at the hand of the state, wants her to find her young sister, who has been abducted by a billionaire. And quickly, before she dies.

The bulk of the remaining story is set on an atoll off the coast of Hawaii where the crabs are so large that they can lift a ten-year-old child (it’s true, look on Google) and the only communication with the outside world is through satellite phones.

Without wanting to give away plot twists, mayhem ensues, and the body count towers higher than the wind-swept palm trees. It is an engrossing read, full of twists and turns and reveals, which would make an excellent blood-thirsty Netflix series. The first-person heroine is sufficiently flawed to be believable (well, almost!).

If you like roller-coaster rides, a different setting which performs as well as a character, this is for you. With Lisa Gardner you are in the hands of a master craftswoman. Sit back and enjoy the ride. At least readers don’t get butchered or shot.

"Her mission: to find Lani, the missing sister of a Death Row serial killer known as the Beautiful Butcher who is awaiting execution in just three weeks’ time. According to the Beautiful Butcher’s sources, Lani is being held captive by her millionaire ex-boyfriend on the island. The only way to gain access is for Frankie to go undercover. But can Frankie really trust the word of a serial killer?"

Lisa gardner is an author who I have seen and been recommended by many friends and thriller lovers! I have been slowing making my way back into my thriller era and am so happy to discover other authors who have also written phenomenal books in this genre! I really enjoy books with complex, well written characters, and will be most definitely reading more books by this author!

So happy to get another outing with Frankie. Not so keen on the giant crabs or the serial killer and family but this is a good read with adventure, humour, horror and a little romance.

The book was action packed. Complex, well written characters. Brilliant setting for the tense, edge of your seat book

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the advance copy to read.

This was my first book from this series and I struggled to connect with the character around 15%. So I decided to go back and read the first two in this series which made for a much better read.

Frankie is a refreshing main character who is flawed, real and honest. I really enjoy that she cares so much for others and selflessly searches for missing people.

This installment in the series was set in a beautiful location. The secluded island setting was great and the crabs really made it quite eerie.

The plot was fast pace, delivered brilliant and the twists were unexpected. Towards the end there is a lot of action that was depicted really well.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more from Frankie.

Another Lisa Garden that does not disappoint!
Absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was fantastically written. The characters were amazing and brought this story to life. I could not put this one down. So many twists and turns and shocking moments along the way. I loved every minute of this one. The jaw dropping revelations kept coming. Non stop rollercoaster of surprises. This one is a must must read. This book would have got a bonus star from me if possible.

Serial killer Kaylee Pierson is a matter of weeks away from execution. Her one regret is that her younger sister, Lea, went missing the night she fled an abusive relationship. Convinced that Lea has been held captive by her abuser for over a decade, Kaylee asks Frankie Elkin for help tracking her sister down. Frankie is an expert in finding missing people, people everyone else has given up on.

The name Lisa Gardner is well known by fans of thrillers. When I checked the author's back catalogue I was surprised to find that it must be well over ten years since I'd read anything by the author. This certainly wasn't deliberate, as I've mentioned in a previous post there are so many brilliant female thriller writers around at the moment it is sometimes difficult to keep up with writers you enjoy.

The description of Still See You Everywhere certainly appealed to me; a serial killer, a young woman being held captive, someone going undercover on an isolated Hawaiian island. I certainly wasn't disappointed by the opening chapters of the book.

We quickly meet Frankie Elkin, a wanderer who takes on jobs when she decides. Frankie is driven to help find people society has given up on. I could not help but compare Frankie to Jack Reacher, another wanderer who has his own moral code which results in him helping the small guy.

Frankie has been tracked down by the attorney of a serial killer, Kaylee Pierson, The Beautiful Butcher. Kaylee is not the type of person you want to get on the wrong side of, particularly if you're male. She has no remorse regarding what she has done and fully accepts she's about to die. Her only regret is that when she fled her last relationship she left behind her little sister. Desperate to re-establish contact with her sister and make sure she is safe and well she requests Frankie's help. The main problem is that her last relationship was with a tech billionaire who has an isolated island off the coast of Hawaii.

The island is in the process of being made into an exclusive ecologically friendly resort, so Frankie has to go undercover as a worker on the island. There are only a dozen other workers on the island so it should be easy for Frankie to track down Lea if she's there.

I am sure we've all dreamt of relaxing on a beautiful tropical island. After reading Still See You Everywhere I can state categorically that this is no longer a dream of mine, it would be more like a nightmare. The description of the floor constantly moving was enough to unsettle me, followed by instructions about hanging your shoes up to prevent spiders, geckos or scorpions from hiding in them. The deciding factor was when I Googled "coconut crab"! I've seen a picture of one before and thought it was a film prop, to discover they really exist was shocking and enough to stop me dreaming about tropical islands.

The descriptions of the natural dangers on the island, along with a storm and someone trying to sabotage the building project made for a pacey story. Unfortunately, the momentum of the story ground to a halt a couple of times when Frankie started dwelling on the past. This didn't add anything to the story, it was just rambling.

Chaos reigns in the conclusion, with some spectacular twists. I did feel that this nightmare scenario could have lasted longer, making for an even more frightening and panic-ridden finale.
