I really wanted to love this book but I just couldn't get attached to it. Hopefully someone else loves it in all the ways that I couldn't.
Burning Hope is a beautifully written book. I throughly enjoyed the plot and character dynamics. My thank to the publisher and Netgalley for my ARC. This is my unbiased review.
What a wonderful read! This is a beautifully written story that is full of faith, love and moving forward through the messy part of life. This is a book everyone needs to read. 5 stars all the way!
I received a complimentary copy from Shanty Grove Publishing via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
An interesting book with an amazing storyline covering so many topics. The reminder about Hope is both subtle and direct throughout, and very encouraging to the reader.
Burning Hope is a story of a young lady who finds herself wrapped up in her own need for perfection and the good and bad that comes with that. She kicks against the family and "picture perfect" world she has always known in order to taste and see the things of society that often draw Christians in, especially at the season of life where young adults leave for college. Lori McAfee does a great job of peeling back the veneer and cutting to the heart of sin, walking the reader through a love story that is far messier than we like to think it will be, and reminding us that forgiveness and healing are just a step away.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Burning Hope was beautifully written, this is a story of hope after one thinks life is just throwing you curve balls left and right. . I believe that anyone who reads this book could relate to the main character in one way or another. I loved how the story of Gabby's unfolded.
Thank you Netgalley for an ARC copy of Burning Hope.
Burning Hope was such an unexpected read for me! When you read a romance novel, you expect certain themes and story lines. When you read a Christian romance novel, you know you will likely find a theme of grace and redemption. While Burning Hope absolutely encompasses those themes, it does it in a way you didn't know you needed. So often, we don't get to see the "messy middle" of the story. I loved how the author made Gabby and Griffin navigate the twists and turns of life, while not avoiding the pain that involves. They need to go through the challenges that threaten their relationship to each other and their relationship to God. I love that this book wasn't a book that simply told us that God is good and He will get you through. While that is true, that sentiment doesn't always make the trials easier. I love that the author brought this truth to light and showed that there is only one path towards redemption.
Burning live was an amazing read. It was some very complex parts to the story that added a lot to the book. I loved the themes of faith and love. I would highly recommend this book!
Burning Hope is a compelling novel that explores the complexities of love, faith, and the human experience. The story of Gabby and Griffin takes readers on a journey through the challenges that threaten their connection to each other and to God. The story skillfully explores the universal desire for love and acceptance, coupled with the inevitable struggles of feeling abandoned and ashamed. The book beautifully navigates the delicate balance between romance and faith, illustrating the entanglements that can arise. Ultimately, Burning Hope delivers a powerful message that facing our pain is the path to redemption and hope. Through the gentle breeze of grace, the characters discover that love has the transformative power to heal the invisible scars left by the blazing flames of their past.
