Thank you Netgalley, Gemma Rogers and Boldwood Books for the eArc of The Good Wife.
I have listened to a fair few of Gemma Rogers books in the past so I leapt at the chance to read this one. Gemma has a tendency to build her characters well within her storylines. They always feel very real. The Good Wife is no exception. This narrative is told by 3 POV, all first person. Tom, a high achiever who will do anything to get where he needs to be in the corporate company he works for. Chloe, his wife who was swept away by his charm, charisma. and he ability to provide. And Savannah, a beautiful women who attends meals and parties of Toms boss and current CEO.
It's clear from early on, the relationship between Chloe and Tom is far from perfect, He controls her, breaks her down and the rule of 10 comes into play in so many ways. I can see that for anyone who has been in any sort of coercive, controlling relationship could be triggered. Gemmas writing makes their marriage dangerous, claustrophobic and all I wanted to do was reach into the story and yank Chloe to safety!
As Tom's control becomes vicelike, Chloe hatches a plan to make her escape. Will she leave in one piece?
This is one of the best Gemma Rogers books Ive read so far. It's raw in places, the characters and dynamics are believable and well written and I devoured it in one day!
5 Star !

I loved reading this book, wow! What a page turner it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout with all the twists and turns. The characters were great, the book itself was so enjoyable and suspenseful, and the style of writing was perfect.
This is my first time to read a book by this author.. but I do have a lot of her books that I have bought but haven’t had a chance to read yet. I will be making them my priority for the next lot to read.
I would highly recommend this book and its author to anybody that enjoys reading psychological thrillers.
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a honest review.

My husband Tom is always watching, controlling my every move. He chooses my clothes, my hairstyle, even what and how much I'm allowed to eat - just ten mouthfuls. I've become isolated from those I love, forbidden to work and stuck at home to fulfil his every whim. My identity along with my life is long gone. I am slowly suffocating, But I know Tom will never, ever let me leave. But a chance encounter with Savanah changes everything. Tom just couldn't tear his eyes away from her. I hoped she might be my saviour. What if I asked her for help? Paid her to steal my husband away? Could my husband's desire for another woman be the answer to my prayers, to my freedom?
What a sheltered life Cloe has to live, Her husband is a control freak, picking out her clothes to wear, how she styles her hair, she's not allowed a mobile phone, she has no friends. I immediately disliked Tom, he's evil and manipulative. Once I knew what Tom was like, I was scared for Chloe. When Chloe meets Savanah to ask for her help, my stomach was churning for her. There is quite a lot of descriptive sex, especially in the first half of the book. The story is told from Tom, Chloe, and Savanah's perspective. This is one twisted read, and I could not put it down.
I would like to thank #NetGalley #BoldwoodBooks and the author #GemmaRogers for my ARC of #TheGoodWife in exchange for an honest review. .

Just wow! Gemma Rogers does it again! She knocks another one out of the park. This was a fantastic look into the darker side of life. I loved the characters and what each one brought to the ‘table’. A web of secrets, lies and deception woven into a brilliant thriller. Lots of creepy and cringe worthy behaviors. Totally loved it.
Thank you NetGalley, Gemma Rogers and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read and review this cracker of a book.

What a story, a psychological thriller that will keep you on your toes till the very end.
Thank you to NetGalley uk and boldwood books for letting me read this.
There is a lot of violence and manipulation in this book, I hated Tom with a vengeance and just wanted Chloe to be ok.
No spoilers from me, Gemma is a fantastic author and her other books are definitely worth a read

Wow. I could not, would not put this book down … There are so many twists and turns to this story… A must-read for those who love thrillers with so many turns, you have no idea where you are.

This book is certainly a page-turner. Some aspects are quite unbelievable, such as Chloe not being able to find a way out even though she knows that she is about to get murdered. Also, we never learn who the attacker is. That said a truly riveting book.

Hooked me right from the start and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Loved this book and the ending.

The Good Wife by Gemma Rogers pulled me in from the very start and did not let go. Carve out some uninterrupted time for yourself when you crack this one open as you will not be able to look away.
Chloe's marriage to Tom is one of control and abuse. Tom decides what Chloe wears, the amount she eats, and the distance she can travel from their somewhat isolated home. But a chance meeting at one of Tom's work dinners with escort Savannah offers Chloe an opportunity to escape Tom's clutches once and for all. The lovely Savannah has caught his eye, and it might just be the distraction that his wife needs to make her move.
This is a pacey thriller that kept me glued to the pages. Gemma Rogers is a relatively new author to me, and I will be adding all of her titles to my TBR immediately.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an ARC.

Oh my goodness what a book I have just read, I just love these domestic thrillers.
One of my favourite authors who never disappoints, a great storyline and what a horrible person Tom was
This was a definite page turner for me with lots going on and the ending was 'true desserts'.
Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for this brilliant ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending.

I think this is truly one of the best books I've ever read! Wow!! I stayed up until 3am last night reading it and finished it during work today because I just literally could not put it down. The abusive husband trope has been done many times but this was such a unique story and there were so many addictive layers to it. I don't think I've ever hated a character as much as I hated Tom but seeing the way everything played out was so satisfying. I would give this book 100 stars if I could!!

The synopsis is right, "appearances can be deceiving." But what is not deceiving is the brilliant writing and storytelling of Gemma Rogers. I found this book to be instantly gripping, hard to put down, well thought out and pure reading enjoyment. I love books that keep me on my toes, turning the pages and wanting to know what is going to happen next! Gemma Rogers delivered all of those things with [book:The Good Wife|201750747].
Chloe tries to follow the rules that her husband, Tom, has laid down. He picks out her clothing, how many bites she can take of her food, and when to get her hair done. He wants her to be a "good wife". But is he a good husband???
After a fateful meeting with a woman named Savanah in a restroom at her husband's company event, Chloe comes up with a plan! But will she be able to pull the plan off? I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen.
Gemma Rogers knocked it out of the ballpark with this book. I enjoyed the pacing, nothing felt rushed or drawn out. I also enjoyed the characters. I felt for Chloe and had a good time booing and hissing at the vile and controlling Tom. Rogers did a great job showing how Tom isolated and controlled Chloe, how he left her feeling trapped with no way. Rogers also did a brilliant job of showing Chloe's feelings of isolation, desperation, and the joy of having small wins.
Addictive, shocking, hard to put down and tense! I can’t wait to read what Gemma Rogers writes next!
Thank you to Boldwood books and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

Wow, where to begin? I read this book in one sitting. Well, two to be more exact but only because I needed to sleep. It's riveting, dark, and full of suspense. This book definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat. There are some dark scenes in this book (related to domestic violence) which make your blood boil and truly hate the male lead. It's like watching a trainwreck you can't tear your eyes away from. The ending was great, which is really important to me. I firmly believe that the conclusion of a thriller is just as crucial as every preceding chapter.
In short: The Good Wife is a fast-paced thriller that will keep you up at night. Highly recommended!

OMG this one gave me nightmares and weird dreams. Our girl Chloe met and married her husband at 23. He is ten years older and wanted a wife he could train and control. She is isolated and has no means of escape. He now wants a child.
At a dinner for his work colleagues she find a woman who might be her way out. Savannah.
Savannah is a high class escort and she knows some thing Chloe doesn't.
She agrees to help.
Tom is Chloe's husband and he is the worst.
The whole situation gets really really messy before it ends.
I love the ending!

Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC. This was my first read by Gemma Roger’s and I absolutely loved it. It’s not your typical Psychotic husband (Tom) meets (Savannah) escort and his wife is jealous (Chloe). Instead Tom’s wife seizes this as her opportunity to escape him. The husband, Tom was so horrendous and despicable and Chloe is determined to make him fall in love with Savannah so she will be free of him.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ excellent read!

Looking for a good psycho husband book? Then this is for you! Filled with plenty of psycho husband material your blood will boil! You so t pit this down though because you just have to know what comes next. This was my first read from this author and it definitely will not be my last. Great characters, loved the length of chapters. Well done I’ll be sure to mention to my local library I work at I have a lot of patrons that will love this!

I absolutely loved this book , even thought it was on the usual theme of abusive husband it was a very different story . It had a lot of tension all the way though and I couldn’t wait to find out the outcome . I’ve always loved this author but this book was one of her best . I would definitely recommend it to my friends and followers. 5 stars from me , I can’t wait for the next book from her .

Thank you Boldwood Books and NetGalley for an early copy of The Good Wife. Way toooooo much sex, the first half of the book was just tooooooo much but if you can get past it, the second half is worth it!!! What a despicable character Tom was, atrocious. I felt for Chloe and I liked Savannah. They never did clear up the last part which I didn’t like. It wasn’t one of my favorites,

this story is so good a very addictive read. Chloe is married to Tom. you think they have the perfect marriage. but nope he so controlling. Chloe can't do anything. without his permission. until the night when its Tom s boss meal party when Chloe clicks that her husband has slept with a prostitute. and Tom has obsessed with her Savannah. Just thinks of them as making money. so, Chloe comes up with a plan to leave Tom will she do it I so recommend this book.

Gemma Rogers does it again with The Good Wife. This was a fast paced thriller that had me up into the night because I could not put it down.
This book is told by the 3 main characters; Chloe and her husband Tom, and then Savannah. The characters were well written and having the 3 POV's made it even better.
Clear your schedule because this one has it all; dark humor, suspense, and so much drama.
I was completely drawn in from beginning to end. This is Gemma's best book yet!
Trigger warning- This book does have some domestic violence in it.
