I've not read a James Patterson in a while, it looks like not much has changed while I've been away!

This is an instalment of the popular Women's Murder Club series, featuring Sargent Lindsay Boxer et al.

As with all James' novels, the story is fast-paced and told in short snappy chapters that always have you thinking 'just one more...'

The story is fairly complex and split between three separate cases all going on at the same time - but as the reader you are able to keep track of what's what.

Fans of James' books will love this and if you've read the series so far then you'll get a lot of the little details and mentions of other characters/stories along the way. If this is the first book of his you've ever read, it still works as a standalone novel.

Continuing to do what he does best, great easy read!

The 24th Women's Murder Club book. Thoroughly enjoyed this fast paced crime thriller.. 3 different crimes took place, you'd think it would be confusing but it wasn't. I enjoyed the courtroom aspect of one case .

The latest instalment of James Patterson’s Women’s Murder Club follows a slightly different path to many of the others, with the main focus being Yuki’s prosecution case. The victim suffers from a psychological disorder, and so her memory of the attack is compromised. As with all his stories, however, there is still murder to be investigated and problems to overcome.

I’m a huge fan of Patterson’s books and this is another joy to read. Highly recommended to all.

The Women’s Murder Club is out celebrating at one of San Fransisco’s top restaurants when a scream breaks out and interrupts the party. Sergeant Lindsay Boxer rushes to the aid of a woman who appears to have been assaulted and promptly makes an assault. Fellow Murder Club member Assistant District Attorney Yuki Castellano takes on the woman's case.

While Yuki tackles a case which turns out to be more complex than she could have envisaged, due to the victims' diagnosis of Dissociative Identity Disorder (formerly multiple personality disorder). It is a gamble as to just which personality will give evidence in court on the day.

Meanwhile, Seargent Boxer has moved on to trying to solve a case of a murdered husband a wife. Murdered in the same manner, but in different locations, and at different times. What is the motive, and who did it? More importantly, who is next?

If that is not enough, while Boxer is busy on her case, her husband, Joe Molinari has been pulled in to consult on a cyber hack on a hospital, which threatens the lives of hundreds of people if they can’t figure out who the hackers are in time, and avert the threat.

The Women’s Murder Club books do work as stand-alone reads, but in this case, having read the previous ones to have an idea of who the characters are and what the background story is would make this a much easier story to follow. As it stands, the three different stories struggled to integrate well together, leaving the story feeling somewhat choppy as you moved from chapter to chapter and story to story. In typical Patterson fashion, the chapters are short, keeping the momentum moving, and the pace rolling fast, so there was no drawn-out tedium. There could have been perhaps, a little more fleshing out of some of the storylines, or more effort to link things together, rather than it feeling like three short, unconnected adventures. Three Women’s Murder Club short stories if you will. Or perhaps two Women’s Murder Club and one Women’s Murder Husband adventure.

Overall, some elements felt a little rushed, the court case ended fast for example. It was not my favourite WMC read, but it was nice to see all of the gang back together, and moving on in a good place with their lives. Hopefully, the next one is a bit more of a juicy read!

The Women's Murder Club are back in yet another thrilling book.
The four women are celebrating an engagement in a restaurant when a scream is heard upstairs.
Sergeant Lindsay Boxer runs upstairs to find a half naked woman battered, bruised and crying on the floor. A naked man is hiding by a locker, and she arrests him straight away and leaving him in handcuffs.
Lindsay checks on the victim, and trys to speak with her. The victim whispers "That we've been raped".
Meanwhile, another murder case is on the go, with the murder of a husband and wife but some time apart. The wife was killed a while ago, and her murder remains unsolved. When the husband is killed in the same manner, Lindsay and the team must race to solve the crimes before the trail goes cold.
Another great read from James Patterson, although I didn't enjoy it as much as previous ones.

I love a murder mystery and this one did not disappoint. It was my first introduction to the Women's Murder Club and will now go back and read more of them.
The close knit friendship of them is great and shows the support amongst friends is vital.

#The24thHour #NetGalley I do love James Patterson and I have really enjoyed previous books in the Women's murder club series. However, although great story lines, I didn't enjoy this book as much as others. For me, the different story lines seemed to jump into one another without the usual flow that there has been in previous books and I found it a bit disjointed at times. Having said that, it wasn't a bad book, just not as great as the previous ones. I still look forward to reading more books in this series.

The Women's murder club are having a bit of a celebration at a restaurant in San Francisco for a wedding and a birthday.
But then something awful happens, a woman is brutally assaulted on the premises.
Of course the club is on hand to help and Yuki takes on the case in court.
But the case is complicated by the woman involved having a form of multiple personality disorder.
Meanwhile Lidsay is busy on the trail of the killer of a high profile couple in the area.
To be honest this was not one of my favourite Patterson novels I've read.
I understand it's a collaboration and I think that made it a little disjointed and the duel strand story with both cases was distracting.
Read some of these duo written books by him before and this one was just not one of his best.
It FELT like it was written by two authors, like the cases were divided by the two.
Something about it didn't seem seamless.
He is usually such a great read but this one for some reason fell a little short.

Book 24 in The Murder Club series (a couple of novellas too!). Another great novel incorporating the lives of our lead ladies Lindsay Boxer, Cindy Thomas, Claire Washburn and Jill Bernhardt and the criminal justice world of San Francisco.
This book combines different storyline’s with a high society killer and a victim of a crime with Dissociative identity disorder (DID).
Good quick moving novel, short but punchy chapters.
Great addition to the series

As usual with the Women's Murder Club series of books, I have pretty high expectation and the 24th Hour has lived up to the rest of the series.

There are three different cases that Lindsay and the other members are working on, that theme through out the book and I really enjoyed it, particularly Yuki's very interesting court case which would have gone any way at all.
AS usual it has very short chapters and can easily be picked up as a standalone or part of the series.

It's a pretty quick read, particularly as it end's at 85% of the way through, which is pretty annoying, as just fills up the other 15% with other books I've either read or am not interested in. I wish they wouldn't do this as it just annoys me and makes me feel a little cheated and doesn't add anything to the book.

However a big thank you to Random House UK, Cornerstone, Century for a thoroughly enjoyable 24th book in the Women's murder club series.

Another great story from James Patterson. This time the police are racing against the clock to resolve two different crimes. Lots of action and ingenuity right to the end. Absorbing read.

This book is part of a series following ‘The women’s murder Club’. It can be read as a stand alone but on this occasion you definitely would benefit from having read previous ones.
I found there was too much going on, a double murder, an assault on a woman with DDS and blackmail. The chapters switched from one to the other which I found a little confusing.
Hopefully just a little glitch as I love James Patterson books

I'm afraid that The 24th Hour was not my favourite James Patterson book. I felt that there was just too much going on what with an alledged rape of a woman with disassociative personality traits, a husband and wife murder and a cyber crime. The book seemed to lurch from one crime to another and back again.
I quite enjoyed the court scenes and the investigation into the double murder but there was too much, too complex detail involved in the solving of the cyber crime and I'm still not really sure what went on there.
Of course patterson is a prolific and popular author so I am sure that many of his fans will enjoy it.

Another great book in the series. I had quite missed these characters. I found, it as always very entertaining and enjoy reading on how they solve whatever they are working on. Murder is the name of the game and also into the story is a cyber threat as well as the usual “stuff” these people deal with. The characters each have their own set of skills and all help along the way. While out for lunch Lindsay Boxer comes to the rescue of a woman who has been raped, Yuki will prosecute the assailant in due course. All in a day’s work and Lindsay’s husband likes to feature in the plots. The book also weaves other plans and dramas and it is definitely worth a read. It is fast moving and the short chapters are good as I like to finish on a chapter when I read and these being short I can fit one (or two) when I am short of time. Another great book in the Women’s Murder Club series
