Beautiful book with tons of ideas on using food scraps to grow food. I knew some of the ideas, but did learn quite a few new ones that I want to try.

I enjoyed this so much. I am just getting into gardening more and doing research on how to care for each item properly. There are definitely a few things that were brand new to me, and this book had some good detail as to what to expect when re=growing. I liked that there was information on composting and also reducing food waste. I hope to implement some of these in my house this year.

This is an ok book for beginners to reduce food waste and grow your own food. I like the concept and there are some helpful tips, but the book really felt high level and the tips were fairly basic. I was hoping for something more in depth. Overall not what I was hoping for, but I can see it being helpful for those brand new to gardening and with limited space.

Lots of great ideas for using your garden to supply your kitchen. Enjoyed this read even as an experienced gardener and avid cook/baker.

In our efforts to be greener sometimes we miss the simple things that could be done. I had always assumed that the only use for those scraps were to compost them. Whilst my gardening skill are limited this book has encouraged me to have a go and reduce the number of bought and transported fresh produce items. I found the book both informative and well laid out. There was plenty of information for the beginner like me including clear descriptions of each step of the process.
A very useful resource.

This book is full of beautiful pictures, helpful illustrations and few interesting suggestions on growing your own vegetables using kitchen scraps. I liked the chapter about root vegetables and the one about garlic is my favorite. I found that some chapters were not complete with the information needed to successfully grow the vegetable and I had to get additional details from YouTube videos (ginger chapter) to be able to get desired results. Overall I found this book to be a fun read and a decent resource for growing on your kitchen counter using scraps. For someone who wants to have a garden outside this book does not have enough information.

Another title for this could be “Table Scrap Gardening” and it might get the point across better. For instance- those carrots you just trimmed? You could regrow those. That sort of gardening.

I think this would be a great housewarming gift or even a newlwed gift. It’s pretty basic. Very basic. That’s ok- a lot of people want basic. I felt like I knew some of those just from watching a quick YouTube video, but this way I do have it in print and can refer to it, and that is easier. It’s a handy book.

This is a great resource for anyone looking to get into gardening of any kind. The focus is on using kitchen scraps to re-plant, but the ideas and knowledge can translate into larger gardening projects as well. I appreciated the knowledge breakdown of what growth you will get from the plant that you are trying to regenerate.

This book is quite great if you want to regrow your scraps, but you can also use some tips from this book and use them when growing plants using seeds as well.

I was super excited to start this book because I just got some strawberries seedlings and I'm not sure how to take care of them, but strawberries are not covered in this book, so just a warning, not everything is gonna be there, but it got most popular plants.

What I really really liked is that the book is not looking to deceive you. If you can't regrow a whole plant but you can regrow the leaves and eat them, it is specified. I had no idea you can actually eat carrot leaves and also, I didn't really think about the fact that's part of the same family as dill or parsley, but that makes a lot of sense.

I also liked that a bit of biology is explained at the beginning, just enough to help people understand how the plants work, and it goes along great with the fun facts sprinkled throughout the book

I am not a gardener and my green space is just an apartment balcony. However, this book caught my eye, in particular as it offers practical ideas for minimising waste.
I found the book very informative. If you have no real knowledge of how plants, roots and stems work, you can learn enough in this book to get you started. There is just enough information to get you on your way without overwhelming you with facts and techniques.
You will learn to regrow many different plants in soil or in water. Some of them will be regrown into a new plant (potatoes or ginger for example) and in some other cases you will regrow a part of the plant (radishes or carrots, which you will regrow for the leaves).
And there is also a part about sprouting and growing seeds.
I found this book really useful and interesting. Beyond the regrowing techniques, it is an opportunity to rethink how we use our veggies to give them a new life and consume them in a different way.
Useful read and food for thought.

With beautiful color photographs to illustrate each step to growing your own food. With the garbage parts!

This book taught even this grandma some new tricks. First, it's a beautifully written and illustrated book. The information will be welcome to those of us who hate waste and spending absurd amounts of money on things we could grow in our kitchen!

So far, I have carrots in a pot and a sweet potato.

A good book to have on hand for reference. Excellent.

This book was really fasinating to read. This is perfect for beginner Gardner's or someone who lives in a small apartment with no garden. Or even if you want to have a small indoor kitchen garden when it is the middle of winter. This book was fun to read and was full of tons of information. Highly recommend!
