What a delightful read that really does match the delightful cover of this book. Marine archaeologist Lauren Sunshine who arrives in Sea Glass Cove only to find the Museum by the Sea at risk of being lost. So Lauren decides to help save the museum and so her journey begins. This is such a lovely book to read adn I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The characters are so real, are wonderfully written and make this story what it is. The story itself flows well and is easy to read but with the depth you want in a good read. It is entertaining and enjoyable, it is delightful and fun, it is interesting. It is a great read.

Thank you NetGalley and Aria & Aries for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Jenny Kane’s Summer at Sea Glass Cove is a feel-good romance full of warmth and heart readers are going to love.

Lauren Sunshine is a marine archaeologist who goes wherever her job takes her. Used to living out of a suitcase, Lauren loves her job and is heading off to the Dorset coast where a shipwrecked vessel has recently been discovered. Lauren cannot wait to lead her team and discover all manner of buried treasure. Making friends with Philippa ‘Phil’ Silver, owner of the Museum by the Sea is an added bonus even if her new friend is troubled by the fact that the museum she has dedicated her entire life to might end up going under…

Phil cannot help but feel apprehensive about her beloved museum. Money is tight, funding is virtually non-existent and even sub-letting half the shop to her friend Jules’s sea glass shop isn’t enough. Phil can see her dream slowly slipping away as nothing she has tried to save the museum has worked. Luckily for her, Lauren is in her corner who is just as determined to see the museum thrive and survive – even if her new friend has found a new distraction – Phil’s handsome brother, Ollie.

Can the Museum by the Sea be saved? Will Lauren find her happy ending in Dorset? And can all of Phil’s fears about the place that means the world to her finally be allayed?

Jenny Kane’s Summer at Sea Glass Cove is the literary equivalent of a warm sunny day after weeks of rain. Uplifting, romantic and so wonderfully enjoyable, I practically had this book glued to my hand the whole time I was reading it, Summer at Sea Glass Cove is a gorgeous tale about friendship, love and community from Jenny Kane perfect for Katie Fforde and Phillipa Ashley fans.

This was a very sweet and heartwarming book about a small village museum on the brink of closure when a marine archeologist and her crew come into town for a dig. Philippa "Phil" runs the museum and it means everything to her! When the town votes to close the museum due to lack of funding she is devastated. A marine archeologist and her crew are coming into town to excavate a shipwreck site Phil believes this is the ticket to save the museum!
Sweet light romance , friendships, Arthur (loved him!), and the all the history/archeology made this a really fun read!
I would like to thank net galley, the author Jenny Kane, and the publisher for the opportunity to review this book!

This was such a cute story. I must say that adorable cover hooked me, but the story line griped me till the end. It was a pleasure to read this one.

This is an wonderful quick read from Jenny Kane. As always with Jenny’s books, we’ve relatable characters and a great setting with a touch of a love story thrown in for good measure.
I loved the idea of the museum and sea glass shop, and I found the details of the dive to the wreck and the archeological information fascinating. Lauren’s passion for the history of the wreck and the surrounding area was charming, and I loved how she became emotionally invested in the future of the museum and the community.
The slow burn of the chemistry between Lauren and Ollie added a lovely romance to the story but Arthur and Jeff were my favourites- their obvious love and devotion to eachother brought a tear to my eye.

This was a cute, closed-door romance with a HEA ending. The writing was ok. A lot was happening in the story with the ship excavation, the romances, and saving the museum, but the story was slow-moving. I was more interested in the plot and how the book ended than in what happened in the middle of the story. I really liked the characters; and how they became good friends and pulled together to keep the museum open. I also liked the mystery behind why the council wanted the museum to close. I liked the connection between Lauren and Ollie, liked the loving relationship that Jeff and Arthur shared, and felt bad that it took so long for Jules and Phil to realize they were in love. The ending was the best part of the book because it tied everything together and resolved all the issues.

Thank you NetGalley and Aria and Aries for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Welcome to Sea Glass Cove!

Marine archaeologist Lauren Sunshine is used to life on the go. Her suitcase is always packed ready to explore the country’s underwater heritage so when a shipwreck is found off the Dorset coast, she is thrilled to be leading the excavation team.

Philippa Silver, ‘Phil’ to the folk of Sea Glass Cove, has devoted her life to the Museum by the Sea. But funding is tight, and despite subletting half of the museum to her best friend Jules's sea glass shop, she fears for the museum’s future.

Phil hopes the wreck discovery could bring more visitors – but there’s a problem – the museum’s too small to house its treasures. Thankfully, new friend Lauren seems as determined as she is to save the museum.

But, when Phil’s brother Ollie catches Lauren’s eye, she begins to wonder if she has more than one reason to be interested in life at Sea Glass Cove….

My Opinion

Jenny Kane writes some delightful books and I am always waiting to see what she is going to write next. This is going to make for a great holiday read. With a lovely setting and some great characters there is a real sense of community when it comes to trying to save the local museum.

A charming read with the lovely writing style that I have come to expect from Jenny Kane.

A lovely story set on the Dorset coast. The title of the book had me hooked before I had even opened it.
An enjoyable book from start to finish, filled with interesting characters and a touching storyline of developing new friendships and romance.
I really enjoyed reading this book, it is a perfect read for a summer holiday, either staycation or abroad, or, like me, can provide a little escapism when at home during a chilly, drizzly week.

It takes a while to appreciate the ethos of this delightful tale set on the Dorset coast. Lauren is a marine archaeologist leading a dive team excavating a shipwreck. Phil has devoted her life to the local museum, which is ailing. She hopes the finds from the wreck can help restore the museum's fortunes, and Lauren wants to help, but not everyone has the same ends and a battle to save the museum results. Amidst this drama, there's also a budding romance. There's community spirit, friendship, and evocative descriptions of the coast village and shipwreck. It's an immersive read with characters you invest in. It's an enjoyable read.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

Firstly I loved the name of this book even before I started it. I have really enjoyed Jenny's books I've read so I already had this book on my radar.

The characters and how they interact with one another is brilliant and real. I love the museum idea and the push to try and save it.

I really enjoy history and finding treasures so I can appreciate why saving the museum was such a big deal for the characters.

There are a few air punch 'yessss' moments which are brilliant and I absolutely love how Jenny ties things together.

This is only the second book I have read by this author and am definitely going to look out for more.

This story had wonderful characters I particularly loved Arthur and had a real community feel and sea glass cove sounds like a beautiful place to live. I also loved the descriptions of the marine archeology excavation of the vissen which added extra interest to the story.

I would love a sequel to this to see how the lives of the inhabitants of sea glass cove continue to pan out.

Summer at Sea Glass Cove is a heart-warming, cozy, and sweet read that is absolutely perfect for an afternoon at the beach. It follows Lauren Sunshine, a marine archaeologist who lives an exciting life and is always on the go. She spends her time exploring the depths of the ocean and is sent to the coast of Dorset when a shipwreck is discovered. In comes Pilippa Silver, or Phil as he's called, who runs the Museum by the Sea in Sea Glass Cove. The museum is struggling and Phil is trying everything to keep it afloat. Phil and Lauren team up with Jules (Phil's best friend) and Ollie (Phil's intriguing brother who catches Lauren's eye) to lead the excavation of the shipwreck and save the museum.

This was such a charming read and I really enjoyed it. I think you should give it a chance and dive into the joy and friendship and relationships that this book has to offer!

Summer at Sea Glass Cove by Jenny Kane is a romance, well, several, really but they are not the brunt of the story. Lauren is a marine archaeologist, one of the few leading a team in England. It is her whole life so she is surprised when she starts making friends in this small community while she and her team are searching a sunken vessel in the cove. They have found most of a chess set and are desperate to find the remaining pieces. Also of interest is the closing of the small municipal history museum, which never really recovered after the pandemic and had shrunken to a portion of its previous size. It’s funding from the council was being withdrawn. The remainder of the building housed an artist who worked with sea glass and drift wood and other found objects from the sea. Lauren met an elderly man who had a keen interest in gaming pieces and had amassed quite a collection over the years. All these people and their extensions had become dear to Lauren. It was a new experience as she was normally all about work.

This story was a lesson in community: how one can pull together for a common cause, one they didn’t realize had existed. It is a story in people, friendships, relationships, and miscommunication. The characters were likable and interesting. More interesting than they had a right to be in this small village. The plot was a simple one of saving the museum. They all played a part and it was interesting and of course, money was at the bottom of it. It was a well-crafted novel with plenty to recommend it. Thanks Jenny Kane!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

The descriptions of the coast and of the ships finds was very descriptive, and how the divers felt when finding missing treasures.
