This was a really interesting read especially with two neurodiverse children who are seemingly addicted to their devices.
It really helped me identify ways to lesson their time that doesn't feel like punishment.
The author has done a good job at writing about therapeutic techniques in a way that makes the topic easily accessible for the general public. And although aimed at problematic gaming behaviours, the advice and tips can easily be used to address other difficulties
This was really informative and a useful read with a lot of tips about managing gaming addiction and with practical advice on dealing with gaming addiction for children who are neurodiverse or with mental health conditions.
It focused very heavily on addiction to gaming and less on building healthy habits before gaming becomes an issue, which is what I expected from the description of the book and how it was marketed.
When I saw this book I knew I had to read it considering I have a son who absolutely loves gaming.
I found the book very interesting and enjoyed reading about the reasons why gaming can be so addictive.
I felt the book was really helpful and gave lots of good advice to cut down gaming time and how to approach this with your child. I will definitely be implementing lots of the things advised.
That’s to Netgalley Dr Alok Kanojia and Pan MacMillan for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review
