What is it about Sarah Morgan books that makes you feel you've had a big hug? This one doesn't disappoint. I love the artist storyline and the location. I enjoyed listening to the story from the perspective of three very different ladies. A fabulous summer read. Highly recommend!
Always a fan of Sarahs books and there isn't one I haven't read yet that I didn't like! this like all other was such a heartwarming tale and a book all about second chances..
It is a book about love and what it looks like at different ages. There is a twist, which added a really interesting new angle and it was very thought-provoking.
I have never read a Sarah Morgan book I didn't like! And this was no different, this was such a heartwarming tale and a book all about second chances. It felt like a big warm blanket, it was reassuring and comforting.
I really enjoyed that it delved into the exploration of love, what it looks like at different ages and how the familial love took as much of a centre-stage as the romance did. I also fell in love with the cottage!
What I didn't see coming at all was the twist, which added a really interesting new angle and it was very thought-provoking in how it made me reconsider what success means, as it looks different for everyone.
All in all, it was good wholesome fun and I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a cosy summer read.
I loved The Summer Swap and how the story unfolds and flows so seamlessly. The main characters are each interlinked and woven together, with the not knowing of which relationships and friendships are going to survive. The book had me hooked from the first page and kept me reading until the very last page.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book through NetGalley and HQ which did not influence my unbiased and honest review of the book.
Thank you NetGalley for my advance copy of this book. I was delighted to be approved as I love Sarah Morgan’s books and this one did not disappoint. From the very first page I was completely involved in this story. I loved that it was from different characters perspectives and each character has their own story and that they intertwined. It is full of warmth, heart and characters you really root for. Really enjoyable read, definitely recommend it!
I love the characters in this book. A wonderful read. To me it was missing a little of the humour I have come to expect from Sarah Morgan, and that was a tiny bit disappointing for me, however the characters and plot were as ever wonderful. A slightly more serious story but beautifully put together with characters who draw you in and steal your heart.
I loved Lily, Theo and ceceila the most, but all the characters were enjoyable, even the one you love to hate!
You can’t go wrong reading this author and this book was was just a brilliantly written as her others! Loved the interlinking between the characters from all ages!
I must start by saying what a fab cover “The Summer Swap” has - so summery and feel good and for fans of Sarah Morgan and similar authors, this book is the perfect summer read.
I liked how the characters had depth, Sarah Morgan always pays attention to detail when depicting characters emotions and this book was no exception. I totally got how each woman felt, each with their own issues in life, either in the past, present or future and the intrigue over “the girl on the beach” painting kept a moderate interest going.
I did feel though that this was one of the weaker storylines I’ve read by this author, with not a lot of story progression and the ‘fade to black romance’ a bit saccharine and obvious. If you’re after a gentle read, to while away the time and you enjoy women’s fiction novels, you’ll probably enjoy this book, but for me it was an only ok read with decent characters.
#TheSummerSwap - ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sarah Morgan is a fabulous author and once again she has given readers a wonderful book for the summer.
Interesting characters and a storyline that held my interest from start to finish. This would be a great summer holiday read, or, like me, it can give a little escapism when read at home in the chilly, drizzly summer.
Sarah Morgan gets better and better. Great summer read, family.,friends, romance and a bit of intrigue, set at a beautiful coastal cottage.
Another amazing book from Sarah Morgan
Funny, fast paced and great character development
It was so wholesome and I genuinely enjoyed reading this book
Sarah Morgan always multi generational books so well. She captured each voice perfectly. Would definitely recommend a perfec summer read!
As always I was thoroughly engrossed in Sarah Morgan's latest novel.
She fabulously blends romance, journeys of self discovery and relationships with friends and familys.
Cecilia and Lily are a joy as we discover their struggles and them overcoming it, however controversially I think I found Kristen's story to be the one that I felt developed most and particularly enjoyed.
Yet another little gem!
Sarah Morgan is just brilliant - I love her books as they always deliver great entertainment and I fly through them and then look forward to the next.
The Summer Swap was set in Cape Cod focusing on Lily who wanted to escape the expectation of her parents and the struggles of having to pay the bills. Cleaning a summer cottage that was never occupied turned out to be a blessing in disguise and linked Lily to the past much to her surprise.
There is definitely room for this book to be turned into a series and I'd love to see that happen to find out what happens next for Lily - fingers crossed!
Set within the art world, this is a bright and uplifting story about new beginnings and finding your true path. New friendships are forged, connections are mended and there’s romance too, in this summery book set by the coast. This book also handles difficult topics like grief, lies and breakups, and there’s a huge focus on self-acceptance. In classic Sarah Morgan style there’s layers to this story just waiting to be unpacked, and I enjoyed every revelation and twist. But what I always love most are the themes of family that she weaves into her novels. There’s strong themes of found family in this book which I loved, but there’s beautiful moments between blood relatives that warm your heart too. It was the perfect thing to read to start the summer, and I enjoyed watching the characters grow and change as they found their own way in life.
Not my favourite by this author. Really struggled to get into it, I suspect that it’s more me than the book so please do not be put off. The writing as always is spot on just not the storyline for me.
A beautiful beach home set in Cape Cod, with lots of family drama and romance
A feel good summer read that is so well written
Makes you realise life is short and you’ve got to take your chances while you can
Thanks @sarahmorganwrites @hqstories & @netgalley for the fab summer read
A lovely story set in a beautiful location, full of great characters.
I really enjoyed this book and getting to know the various members of the Lapthorne family.
Lily Thomas a really good MC and I loved her and Cecelia's friendship.
I found myself rooting for everyone that was going through their separate dilemmas and couldn't turn the pages quick enough to discover their conclusions.
As always with a Sarah Morgan book I felt like I had been run through many emotions before being left with a sense of well being in my world and happiness.
Her characters are so well written that they feel like friends during the telling of the tale, people that you can worry over and hope that things will turn out right for them.
Once Cecilia and Lily had met I had a feeling Todd wouldn't be far behind from what the two ladies had told us of him. It was interesting seeing all the relationships within the Lapthorne family and how they melded together and how their relationships evolved over time.
The ending was beautiful and even though it did tie up all the loose ends, I still would love the author to revisit these characters again as it felt like there could be many more stories from them as time goes by.
This is a very quick to read emotive book which would be perfect to take on holiday or just on a staycation and picture yourself at the wonderful locations!
I read this pretty much in one sitting on the plane on holiday! It’s a lighthearted, wholesome read about two women, Cecilia and Lily, who end up living together in an abandoned summer house, who bond over their love of art. As the story progresses, we discover their mutual friendships/family connections and how they reconnect with one another along the way. It was lovely to see how each of the characters’ stories interconnected, and to see how they overcome their individual faults and become better, more rounded people by the end.
*Thanks to Netgalley and Harper Collins for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
