Easily my favourite Sarah Morgan book to date! Thank you Netgalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was like a breath of fresh air. At first I thought the characters were likely to get a bit annoying because there are a fair few of them, but just having the three main points of view was actually a really nice break from chapter to chapter. I really enjoyed how this book was woven together and how the characters seemed to all have crossed paths at some point, and all three main characters are experiencing different stages of their life.

I absolutely flew through this book. I loved all of the characters and how their stories unfolded. I loved the sass, the banter. Even the sadness was written beautifully.

This book is a delight and a truly EASY recommendation.

Absolutly loved this book, a true big warm hug of a story. Easily relatable, warm characters that fitted together so well.

Kristen, Theo, Cecilia, Seth, Lily, Todd.....all characters from different generations but all strongly interlinked and brought together by beautiful Dunn Cottage. Each character has their own underlying worries and problems to solve but all share a love and passion for art and creation. Once communication channels open and they all begin to be honest with each other, a greater understanding is gained by all.

An absolute corker of a book....thank you for the ARC...a pure joy.

Another fantastic book from Sarah Morgan. All the characters were well written and ‘real’ I was rooting for Lily to find her happiness. It took me less than 2 days to read this as I didn’t want to put it down.

Another great emotional book from Sarah Morgan. Ceilia was married to Cameron before he died. They had 2 children and grandchildren. However all was not straightforward and secrets were hidden and lies told. Can the secrets and lies change and individuals come clean. Thanks to Sarah and her publisher. Thanks also to NetGalley

Before the first chapter had ended I really just wanted everything to turn out alright for Lily. She's just so likeable and encourages you to empathise with her.

I really enjoyed this story, it felt like there were some valuable life lessons and moments that really make you sit and contemplate how we all have secrets, dreams and ambition - ans that its not wrong to be a little selfish.

Cecilia and Lily were unquestionably my favourite characters, both had so much ro work through in their own ways which plays out as a beautiful reminder that you should always follow your heart.

This is a feelgood story, with some not too discreet hints on how to make the most of things!

We all have a few authors whose books we love and whose writing we trust so much that we don’t even read the synopsis we go in blind and Sarah Morgan is one of those authors for me. Her new release The Summer Swap is perfect holiday reading because it is a fast paced light read that pulls you straight into the storyline and sweeps you along on a journey of learning that life is for living your way.

Sarah Morgan is well known for setting her books around three female leads with each chapter alternating between each of them whilst weaving their stories together which she also does here and this works perfectly in this book in particular because it shows three different scenarios and three different generations all who are at stages in their lives where they look at what their lives have been up to this point and now how they want their lives to be going forward.

I took a little while to warm to Kristen but I loved Lily and Cecilia from the get go and the unlikely friendship that develops between them was endearing as they found that in helping each other they were actually helping themselves too without knowing it. There are sweet little helpings of romance alongside the heartbreak and new friendships to heal loneliness too so all in all it is an uplifting read.

The story really focuses on living your life for you, doing the things you love and be who you want to be because when you live a life for other people you will never feel truly fulfilled and may even hold resentment.

I read my first Sarah Morgan book about one and a half years ago and in that time, she's become one of my favourite authors. I've been working my way through her back catalogue as well as keeping up with the new releases so was really happy to be able to read The Summer Swap!

As with all Sarah Morgan books, this one focuses on family and friendships and grabs hold of your emotions while at the same time helping you picture the beautiful summer setting of Cape Cod.

It follows three women who are all connected but who are all dealing with their own individual issues and thoughts. Cecelia hasn't been back to Dune Cottage in decades due to its uncomfortable memories, but when she gets overwhelmed at her own birthday party, she decides it's time to face those memories head on.

She unexpectedly finds Lily hiding out there, who turns out to be Cecelia's granddaughter's best friend. Lily has decided to put her own happiness first and pursue art as her career - she just doesn't know how to go about it.

And we also follow the story of Cecelia's daughter Kristen, feeling lonely in her marriage due to her husband's long work hours and lack of emotional support.

We explore the lives and secrets of all three women as they battle to overcome their issues with a bit of help from some others.

I just loved the way this book developed and how the stories of the three women ended up coming together at the end. It was such a warm book, but with some difficult issues being explored too. Plus some romance of course!

A great read for summer - or any time of the year really!

Thank you to Sarah Morgan, HQ and Netgalley for the arc of this wonderful book! 💕

I always look forward to a new book by Sarah Morgan, one of my favourite authors for this genre. This time we’ve got stories from 3 women, all at crossroads in their lives, all needing to make big decisions and chose a path that will be best for each of them. Lily had chosen a career path mainly for her parents, who only want the best for her but don’t actually listen to what she really wants. Kristen was used to coping with everything and being relied upon by everyone, but when her father dies, she realises that she has no one she can turn to for comfort. And Cecilia, now widowed, not knowing what she should do now, just knowing she needs to do something for herself.

Lots of us are people pleasers, wanting to fit in, get the right job, wear the right clothes, but at some point we have to realise we need to be happy in whatever we do, then everything else will hopefully follow. I liked the characters, Cecilia especially, she proves that age can just be a number and you shouldn’t be defined by it. Kristen was harder to like but you could empathise with her situation. And Lily, well Lily is a lovely character, and although the ending was always going to be happy, it was a nice story of how she gets there. A really nice read, satisfying and enjoyable. My only quibble would be that I thought there would be more of a ‘swap’, as in the title, however, it didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the book. In fact, I want more, I need to know what happens next to all of them.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I loved this book, couldn’t put it down. Having visited Cape Cod, I could picture Dune Cottage and where it was situated. And it made me want to return one day. The characters are all likeable, many with flaws, but people about whom wanted to find out more. All in all, another great read from Sarah Morgan.

I’m curious as to why this has the title it has as I don’t see any swapping going on. Lots of lack of communication in one family leads to loads of angst , I found it all a bit frustrating as no one seemed capable of being honest until pushed to their limits! All ended well with everyone baring their souls so a nice read if you like happy endings.

I absolutely love all of Sarah Morgan’s books however this one really hasn’t been my favourite albeit an easy read so maybe a good one for a long distance flight or holiday read

Thank you to Netgalley the author and publishers for an arc in exchange for an honest review

This was not at all what I expected. With a title like The Summer Swap, I was expecting a typical romance with young love and a summer trip. What this book actually delivered was deep dynamics for 3 different women who called all provide a different perspective to the troubles they faced in life. All the characters were enjoyable to read about and I could keep turning the page to find out what happened to them next. This is a great Sarah Morgan read.

It was impossible to put this book down. I loved it and thoroughly enjoyed the characters and their stories. Cecilia was a very special lady so supportive of her family and their secrets. Dune Cottage was an escape for Cecilia and although a touch decision for her she went. Lilly was a marvelous character I really understood her and her decisions. Heartwarming, heartbreaking at times and funny makes it a great read.

Sarah Morgan's books are always a good easy read and this one is no exception. Following the lives of three women, of three different generations the story takes you through one summer when their lives change, secrets are revealed and decisions are made. This is an easy read with plenty of drama, miscommunication and romance. I enjoyed the storyline, set in Cape Cod by the sea, the story brings together three women who need an escape from their lives to sort out their futures.

I liked the characters in this book, they were well written and relatable. I loved the way Cecilia and Lily supported each other, their relationship was delightful. I do like the way Sarah Morgan writes about women of different generations, it's quite refreshing.

Overall this is a nice gentle read, the drama is not taxing on the reader and the story is rounded off well. Some of the timeframes are a little unrealistic, no one renovates an entire cottage in a week, but then this is fiction. The usual miscommunication is the main theme of the story, an old trope but still a very readable book.

Gréât story, loveable and believable characters. I really enjoyed this story. It was obvious from chapter one what the story would be but I like that, it feels comfortable. I loved how it felt real, rather than an obstacle from nowhere. Anyone could identify with any one of the characters at different stages of life. I loved Todd and would love to visit cottage on the shore. The ending felt a little abrupt - but only because I wanted the story to continue!

This is a fabulous read. Lily couldn’t settle in her medical course. She had wanted to please her parents but her heart was in art and painting. She fled to the Cape to escape the embarrassment and her disappointed parents. She worked for a cleaning agency for an empty beach property. Cecelia’s famous artist Husband had recently passed away. She was struggling with her loss and her overwhelming family. She escaped from a big party at her home and drove to the Cape beach house she thought had been sold many years before. She and Lily form a remarkable friendship. When family members track her down a lot of things become apparent. I really enjoyed this and highly recommend it.

Absolutely loved this feel good page Turner. I devoured it in a day.

Told from three perspectives Lily, Cecilia and Kristen are all ready to make big changes in their life.

They end up in the beautiful Cape Cod in the same cottage trying to find a way past their troubles.

Lots of funny and heartwarming moments. Definitely a fun summer read. I am definitely ready for the beach now!

4.5 stars - a heartwarming story about starting over and finding what makes you happy.

Told from three points of views:
Lily - mid twenties dropped out of medical school to pursue art. Has various cleaning jobs one being dune cottage where she sleeps overnight. Lily also has a connection to Kristen’s children - Hannah and Todd who she grew up with.
Cecelia - 70 year old and recently widowed to a famous artist whose marriage wasn’t always perfect. She leaves her birthday party, her daughter Kristen has thrown, after someone mentions a mysterious painting and heads to the cottage.
Kristen - Cecelia’s daughter - devastated by the death of her father and feeling lonely as her husband Theo works long hours as surgeon. Will she embark upon an affair or will her marriage work out.

I really enjoyed this story - I’ve read some of the author’s Christmas books and they all seem to have very likeable and easy to relate to characters. I love reading from the viewpoints of people at different stages of life and found something to connect to in each characters story.

I loved the setting of the cottage and the beach - it would make a great summer read or for those longing for the summer days to return.

A good palate cleanser and would recommend to all readers especially those who feel a little lost in life.

Thank you to net galley for a copy of the ebook.
