I'm a big fan of the Falon Ballard books that I've read up until now and this is easily one of her best.
While I'm not normally drawn to second chance romances, this one drew me in.
I really liked their chemistry and the overall premise.
It's definitely more of a sweet romance instead of one that gets particularly steamy or spicy, but I wasn't really expecting that from Falon to be honest.
As a quick, easy read, this was another hit for me and I can't wait to see what she does next.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Emmy hates Grayson because he played a pivotal role in tanking her acting career. So imagine just how thrilled she is when she's making her big return to acting and finds out the guy playing the love interest in her movie is none other than Grayson.
This is a hate-to-love romance with some added forced proximity for good measure. Emmy slowly but surely loses her distaste for Grayson, and her journey is very well-paced.
Very swoony and steamy.
Of course there's third act shenanigans, as can be expected, but I didn't mind it too much in this case.

Right on Cue is a short, sharp enemies to lovers kick to the romantic kick to the nads. Emmy Harper is a super successful nepo baby screenwriter who has written a new rom com but just can’t find a female lead right for the part. But when Emmy was a teenager she wanted to follow in her parents footsteps by becoming an actor her dreams and confidence were crushed by a swine of a boy who talk shit behind her back and ruined her fledgling career now he’s a Hollywood heartthrob and for reasons they wind up in the lead roles of Emmys new movie. Stuck together in the most magical romantic wintery location can Emmy and Gray set aside their differences and make a great movie? This was great, it zipped along at rate of knots, Emmy and Gray were suitable horrible and charming and there was plenty of back story trauma that could all be sorted out with a conversation. All my favourite tropes.

This was sooooo good!!! The chemistry between Emmy and Grayson was insane, and that scene on the red carpet??? I felt like I was genuinely watching a movie. I don't think I'd realised how much I love a celebrity romance but I definitely loved this one! The writing was really easy to get into and I thought the author did a really great job at setting up this story and these characters and make it feel very real. I have to say I did prefer the first half of the book to the second half, because the chemistry felt a lot more ramped up in the first half, I also really did not like the third act breakup, because all they needed to do was COMMUNICATE, like just talk to each other damn it. But the whole celebrity romance, filming a romcom together, it did scratch an itch and I love this author, I can't wait to see what comes next.

Stunning. Devine. Perfect. All the stars. Totally loved this - I think it will be one of my favourites of the year 🥰 Emmy and Grayson have historic beef. They starred together in a teen movie in their youth and their crushes went sour. Emmy has since become a successful screen writer and Grayson an action movie star. They are accidentally cast together in Emmy’s next romantic comedy but struggle to play a couple falling in love, with their simmering animosity. That all changes after a sex scene though and their chemistry on and off the screen becomes obvious.
Urgh, where to begin. Too good. I don’t know how, but I actually found two movie star main characters extremely likeable and relatable? I loved Grayson’s himbo energy and Emmy’s humour. She could have easily been unlikable with the “oh, me? Star in my own movie? I could never!” vibes, and the fact that she is actually so endearing even with this set up is a testament to Falon Ballard’s writing. Just a delicious, perfectly paced, swoony read.
What to expect:
- enemies to lovers
- let’s just bang and get it out our systems…
- costars with benefits
- celebrity romance - two actors
- spicy

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the arc!
First off all I want to say that i adore this story! It’s the perfect contemporary romance to read on break. I found it very easy to read and i moved quickly through the story.
I loved the characters and their development! The banter and the chemistry was so well written!
The storyline itself was great! Fast paced, drama, romance, set on a movie set. The hatred to love trope was lovely! I felt like we got a good amount of the hatred before it turned into the love section.
All in all 4.5 stars for me, i don’t really like the miscommunication/ third act breakup trope 🙈

My second Falun Ballard book and she really knows how to write romance books!! A fast paced rom-com which is essentially a behind the scenes movie (book). Can’t wait for her next one!

Thank you NetGalley, the author and publisher for this copy for my honest review.
Loved this spicy, second chance rom com! This is the first book I have read from this author and it certainly did not disappoint! Can’t wait to read more of their work.

The premise of this book was what made me pick it up - it just sounded fun! Emmy is a successful Nora Ephron-esque screenwriter whose brief dalliance with acting ended abruptly when she was humiliated in her first role by her co-star. With her best friend directing her latest script, she is convinced to take the lead role when no-one else will do. But then her co-star has to drop out and his replacement is…..you guessed it, the guy who humiliated her back in the day.
God do I love me some enemies to lovers action and I really enjoyed this one. It was a quick, enjoyable read with some funny dialogue and a fun setting and I’d recommend it to someone looking for a light romance for a quiet Sunday afternoon.

Right on Cue is a very cute story. I really enjoyed reading about the characters journey from lovers, to enemies, to circle back around to lovers again. The film setting was really interesting and unique to backdrop against the story.

this was such a cute and sweet book. this was truly adorable and heartwarming. these characters and their story are just way too adorable.
this is the perfect book if you are looking for a sweet romance book with a little bit of spice.
I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this one this much, but I’m so glad I was absolutely wrong.
I just wish we had dual POV in this book because I would love to read about what was on Grayson’s mind throughout the book.
thank you for NetGalley the ARC

Thank you NatGalley and Headline for allowing me to read this book 🩷
As this was my first Falon Ballard book, I absolutely loved it! The chemistry was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed the book the entire time I was reading it.
The story entitles a screenwriter turned actor starring in her own movie with an old coworker and enemy, Grayson West. We see their relationship blossom from a physical one to both physical and emotional relationship, with both highs and lows this book keeps you on your toes!
If you’re a fan of The Hating Game and the vibe of Anyone But You this is the book for you!

This was a really cute and easy read .
I really enjoyed reading it. This was a qick read
Have I been fully invested in this book, not really, but stll a cute one. 3.5 stars

I first saw this book on reviewed on Instagram and she loved it, to the point where I immediately dashed over here to see if it was still available, squealing with delight when it was! I wasn’t disappointed, Everything from the setting to the characters to the spice and the banter was just perfection! I haven’t enjoyed a book as much as this one in quite a while. It’s one of those books that are so well written, you don’t feel like you’re actually reading, if that makes sense. Like you don’t have to work at it, it just draws you in and keeps you turning pages. Thanks Netgalley and Publisher.

This book is so cute! Really enjoyed their relationship and the premise of them both being actors. Very easy read, giving it three stars purely because I’m not the biggest fan of the miscommunication trope.

Thank you to NetGally for the ARC.
I had high hopes after reading the book's blurb, but the story didn't work for me as well as I thought it would. The descriptions were choppy and didn't flow well in scenes, and I immediately didn't like the love interest, who was incredibly unprofessional. Describing characters by their race/ethnicity without knowing them, eg. "A stunning Korean American woman breezes into the room", felt off with me as well, even though it's always nice for more diversity in books.
Overall, I was underwhelmed by the characterisation and the book in general, even though the premise was incredibly appealing. The plot itself is cute (albeit a bit cliched) and could be a fun read, but it's not for me.

I stumbled upon this book purely by chance (and also thought the cover was very cute) and I am so glad I did. I have been itching to read a lighthearted romcom with some intense chemistry between the two main characters and Right on Cue offers all that and more. I quite enjoyed Emmy as a main character; her perspective was so much fun to read from and I could totally see how she was slowly falling for Grayson as the story progressed.
As for Grayson, I thought he was kind of an ass in the beginning, but I did fall for him (as did Emmy) over the course of the book. His and Emmy's interactions were the perfect way to see the chemistry between them. Though they start off as (very) reluctant coworkers, forced to work alongside each other years after their first disastrous movie, one very intense situation helps them figure out how to work together and things only go from there.
In many ways, this feels like a classic, maybe kind of cliched romcom, but trust me, we all need one of those. Right on Cue is the perfect choice if you are looking to sit back and relax with something lighthearted and something that will leave you smiling in the end.

This book I really struggled to get into and found it hard to enjoy it and read without forcing myself to carry on reading unfortunately

Right on Cue by Falon Ballard
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tropes: Miscommunication, right person, wrong time., forced proximity.
Right on Cue was an easy romcom read although it did leave me feeling a little disjointed at times. I felt the MMC was a bit much, and I just struggled real bad to gel with the FMC.
I had heard so many good things about Falon Ballard’s writing prior to reading this so I had a certain level of expectations built up, but sadly was left a little flat.

Received as an ARC in return for my honest review.
💙 Rivals to lovers
💙 Second chance
This was my introduction into the world of Falon Ballard and I’m a convert! I was hooked the minute I opened this book and flew through it pretty quickly. The banter between them was brilliant.
Overall this was a really sweet romance that hit all of the feels. The characters and world building were really nicely done and I was vouching for them to get their HEA from start to finish, despite my frustrations in the third act.
