Thanks netgalley and Mc Garvey Black for this very enjoyable and could not put down read, loved it.

Tori had everything plenty of money and handsome husband and wonderful life, but one thing she could not have is a baby.
Tori and Daniel had tried IVFso many times they were exhausted, and adoption seems very unlikely as they were the bottom of a long list.
Going to the beach on a hot day and sitting in the shade under a tree Tori met Sacha a single mother with a beautiful baby that Tori could not take her eyes off.
They got on really well and Sacha asked Tori to look after the baby while she had a swim.
Sacha got into the water with a pink swimming cap one minute she was there the next she was gone.
Tori was left holding the baby, and fearing Sacha had drowned Tori had only one thing to do pack the babies things up take the baby and go, that’s what she did.

I’d like to thank Joffe Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The Baby I Stole’ written by McGarvey Black in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Tori is in her chosen shady spot on Rocky Point Beach when she strikes up a conversation with Sasha, single mum to four-month-old Liam. Due to Tori’s health problems she’s been unable to have a baby with husband Daniel so when Sasha asks her to mind Liam while she has a swim she’s more than happy to do so. When Sasha doesn’t return and is presumed drowned, Tori feels no compunction in taking the baby home and telling everyone he’s their newly adopted son Jonah. She just needs to be sure no one is going to be searching for him.

‘The Baby I Stole’ is a riveting psychological thriller of secrets and lies and a woman who’ll go to any lengths to have her own baby. The plot is nicely thought-out, suspenseful and tense, with interesting well-described characters, and although I guessed some of the twists and how the story was going to unfold, the final twist took me by surprise especially when the truth was finally revealed. This novel is easy to read and perfect for relaxing with on a beach.

Thank you to NetGalley and Joffe Books for the Arc (Advance Reader Copy) of The Baby I Stole by McGarvey Black. This is my first book by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was fast pace and kept me engaged all the way through. It was fast paced and well written. It was quite a unique story. I would recommend this book to others and I gave it a 5 star rating. I did not predict the ending.

All my adult life, I've longed for a baby. We tried IVF. We tried everything. Now we're waiting to adopt. We have a beautiful home, and all the love in the world to give a child. But we're told it would take years. Then one day, at Rocky Point Beach, one thing leads to another. I make a split-second decision - and I come home with a baby. His name is Liam. He has tiny red bow lips and the chubbiest cheeks. He's gorgeous. I call him Jonah. Now what happens when my husband gets home?

This story starts with Tori stealing a baby. I suppose you would need to be in Tori's position to know how much the desire to have a baby can take over your life.

This fast-paced read is gripping, twisted, and well-written. The characters are well-drawn, and they all have their flaws. Some parts, to me, were a bit predictable, but that took nothing away from my enjoyment of this story. Tory knew she was breaking the law when she stole the baby, but it was all justified in her mind. This is an emotional and complex read that's filled with lies and shocking revelations.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #JoffeBooks and the author McGarveyBlack for my ARC of #TheBabyIStole in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! I found that I couldn't put this book down. It gets your attention right from the start and you need to keep reading to see what comes next. Its a story about love, marriage, and family. Its about wanting a baby so bad that you'll do anything to make it happen no matter what the consequences are. Definitely worth reading.

Wow! Such a brilliant book!

Tori and her husband Daniel are desperate for a baby and the adoption waiting list is so long that when a young Mum disappears and Tori is literally left holding the baby, she makes a split second decision and takes the four month old baby boy.

What follows is gripping! Great character development, a well thought out plot and some brilliantly executed twists, that keep on coming, right until the end. Loved it!

5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, McGarvey Black and Joffe for an ARC in return for an honest review.

I liked this story. I wouldn’t say it was thrilling or gripping, but it was entertaining. I would label it a beach read. I received a free ARC to review and this is my honest feedback.

This is an entertaining read if you don't think about the details too much. How can a woman just come home from an afternoon at the beach with a stranger's baby in her arms? I spent the whole book waiting for things to fall apart, and they eventually did because nothing else could possibly happen. By the end things actually made a lot more sense than I would've expected them to.

Thank you NetGalley and Joffe Books for this advanced copy! As a fan of Lifetime movies, this book was everything I'd expected it to be. It was a little predictable however it was still a good read!

This was another nice fast-paced story, filled with tension by McGarvey Black. I finished it in a couple of hours hanging upside down in my chair (yes, I have some weird positions when I am absorbed in a book) just flying through the pages. The characters weren't really likable, but that is okay in this story. They were well developed and that's what matters to me. The scene settings were absolutely well written and made the story even more gripping. Some twists weren't a surprise, but others were which was good…I like to be surprised. The drama and lies just kept building up and that was making this story more and more intriguing. The end, however, was a bit disappointing as I think it was a bit rushed, but I can sort of live with that lol. Excellent book again by this author and can’t wait to read the next one.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you, NetGalley, and Joffe Books for this ARC.

I am on an "desperate people stealing babies" marathon right now. I hate this main character. All of her inner thoughts are her justifying everything she does. She is a terrible liar and she doesn't think through decisions.
I think that makes it good book though.
I couldn't put it down and it is the weirdest book.
Oh and Daniel is the most annoying husband ever.
The ending!

A fantastic thriller. Wow wow wow. I read into the middle of the night as I had to find out what happened. Maternal instinct is pretty much at the core of this taut twisty tale. The characters came alive, and I certainly didn't guess the ending. An easy 5 star must read.

I recieved this book as an ARC through Netgalley. This is my honest, spoiler free review.
This book is not as straightforward as I thought it was going to be. I was very curious as to where it would go and I was pleasantly surprised! This book kept me on my toes and gasping with the twists and turns.
I Stole A Baby center's around Tori, a woman desperate to be a mother. Most of the book is from her viewpoint but as the twists come, another narrator is introduced.
This was a fun quick read. Short chapters that keep your interest. Some of the twists were a little predictable. I was worried how the legality of stealing a child would come into play so I was skeptical but the twists don't give you enough time to get hung up on details and it all makes sense in the end. This unique storyline abd its twists is worth the read. Especially great to pull you from a reading slump or or test the waters in the thriller genre.

This was a tense and fun read, centered on Tori, who is so desperate to have a baby that she takes one when the opportunity arises. She is constantly looking over her shoulder, has increasing health issues, and on top of that starts getting threats that lead her to believe that someone knows her secret.

The story is really fast paced and even though I guessed 2 of the 3 major twists early on, I still enjoyed the tension throughout. The final plot twist did surprise me as well. I had to suspend my disbelief a bit, as some of the decisions the characters made seemed unrealistic to me. Speaking of the characters, none of them were likable, but I was ok with that and they did seem believable. I felt like the baby was portrayed realistically when sometimes books use babies only as props.

Overall, I wish that I had been just a little more surprised at some of the twists, but I really enjoyed the pacing of the book, and I thought the story was unique. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Joffe Books and NetGalley for sending me an advanced readers copy. All opinions are my own.
If you are looking for an easy-to-read psychological thriller, then this book is definitely worth a go! From the first chapter I was glued. Although this book was very fast paced, it did not feel rushed, which I really appreciate. You got to know the characters and really understand the dynamic of the family.
However, the ending consisted of 3 “main” plot twists; 2 of which I guessed early on. It didn’t ruin the flow of the book but it certainly ruined the suspense.
I gave this book a 4 stars as it was a very enjoyable read, it kept me interested, but it just wasn’t a show-stopper ending like some psychological thrillers are.
