This book is part of a series and I have heard that it is the lat book in the series. It can be read as a standalone novel but I think that it is better to read the series in order to get the most out of it and also to avoid spoilers. Each book is a continuation from the previous books with mostly the same characters.
This book has several plotlines, Maggie's Wedding, Phoebe and Sam's relationship and Rufus trying to find his way and decide what he wants.
There are new animals to meet, a horse mystery to solve, wedding planning, family dramas, romance, comedy and a baby. This book has a lot going on and it was a very enjoyable and entertaining read.
I have really enjoyed reading this series. If this is the last book then it has a nice ending with all of the loose threads tied up. Of course I would definitely welcome another Puddleduck Farm book but I am excited to hear about Della Galton's next book.
Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood books for my ARC.
This is another enjoyable book set around Puddleduck Farm. We catch back up with everyone. The book focuses on some life situations and of course romance.
It’s a nice continuation of the series.
Well Puddleduck farm is such a lively place and I felt like I was right in the middle. The cheeky animals had me giggling so hard because that is exactly what animals are like they all have there own personalities and quirks but they are so smart. I was tickled pink to watch Phoebe and Sam's relationship thrive with just a few little bumps. I love that Maggie gets married and finds another beautiful soul to love in Eddie. The issue that Jan faces I felt personally as I suffer from the same illness and the author has done a great job of keeping it honest and respectful. The characters develop well in this book and we get a true glimpse into there inner selves. The dramas and romance had me eagerly turning the pages. Everything that is dealt with in the story feels real and I would love to watch it on the big screen as it was such a pleasure to read!
With a booming business and the love of her wonderful partner, I had high hopes for a lovely gentle ride for Phoebe in this latest instalment of the Puddleduck Farm series. However, Della Galton doesn’t make things easy for her characters or her readers. What a terrific decision that was.
As mentioned in the synopsis, we get to meet a rather different Maggie. Phoebe’s grandmother has been nothing but marvellous, but now she’s getting remarried and as she discovers her inner bridezilla, there’s a great source of comedy to enjoy.
Sam, Phoebe’s friend and new boyfriend has his own challenges to deal with as he navigates his way toward his dream happy ending whilst juggling his other commitments and trying to understand what may be going on with his Mum. As that unfolds, I loved the gentle way that the author dealt with a very real issue for many women.
Meanwhile, all is not running smoothly at Beechbrook House as Rufus Holt is torn between his family loyalty and his desire to protect his son from the cold childhood that he knew. I really liked Rufus from the earlier books, although, not enough to see him with Phoebe.
As the theme is based around a veterinary practice and an animal rescue, you are guaranteed a whole host of fabulous furry or feathered characters, the most exciting being the rearing horse that features on the books cover. Don’t worry though, all the usual suspects are still present and correct.
The characters that Della has brought to life are wonderfully imagined, and I would love to visit them in the New Forest. My favourites are definitely Sam and Phoebe and I am now looking forward to the next instalment to see what is next in their future.
This is the final book in the series. I had only read book two before this but I was still able to enjoy the wrapping up of the characters' journeys. It was nice to have met them all before and to understand the developments since then.
Phoebe Dashwood is a vet and her practice has grown considerably since she set it up in book 2. She has a number of employees who are also friends and she counts herself as very lucky. Rufus, her partner in the previous book is more or less out of her life now and Sam is the love of her life. Interestingly the author tells Rufus's story in parallel to Phoebe's and we discover what happens to him as well.
This is a feel good book with a happy ever after theme and it leaves the reader with a smile on their face.
This was the first book I had read about life at Puddleduck Farm but I really want to read the others now. This was a delightful read about friends and family. Puddleduck Farm will find a way into your heart with the engaging characters. Phoebe is juggling family life, her career as a vet with her own practise and finding love and happiness. It is great to read how it all unfolds including her making peace with her past ex and hoping everyone finds love and happiness.
I would love to read more books by Della as this was such a lovely, gentle read which was well written. I didn't realise that this was part of a series and it can easily be read as a one off story. Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book and experience life at Puddleduck Farm.
Phoebe Dashwood is finally with the right man but with her vet practice getting ever busier and helping with her gran’s wedding Phoebe is struggling to find the time to enjoy it.
Determined not to repeat past mistakes Phoebe knows she will have to work hard and put the past behind her in order to embrace her future. Can there be more than one happy ending for the Puddleduck farm locals?
What a lovely end to a wonderful series. To enjoy this you don’t need to have read the previous books but I would highly recommend that you do. They are well written with characters you will take to your heart and a plentiful smattering of unruly animals thrown in.
Love the Puddleduck Farm series and this is another great story.
We catch up with Phoebe, Sam and a host of other favourite people and animals. A really good, genuine read.
Continuing the story of Phoebe and Puddleduck Farm the story brings us up to date with her and Sam's relationship, plus the others stories in the series.
True love never runs smooth, and Phoebe's and Sam's relationship is still not a forgone conclusion. There is a wedding being planned, pregnancies being announced and abandoned animals to be looked after, however the character I most felt for is Rufus. He is stifled by expectations as a member of the aristocracy, widowed but struggles with relationships and I was rooting for him throughout the story. Overall this is a series that I've really enjoyed and strongly recommend that you start from book one to have the full Puddleduck experience.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.
I didn't realize this was part of a series when I picked this up. I had a hard time navigating the characters and everything going on, which made it a bit hard to enjoy the story in full. I do believe that this would have been an enjoyable experience had I read the previous books first. I did enjoy all the animals of the story and think the cover is so cute. Maybe I will pick this series up in the future and try again. Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read and review this advanced copy.
This book is the amazing next installment from the wonderful Puddleduck Farm series. Each book can easily be read as a stand alone but each one does include previous characters from the series.
I always love being back at Puddleduck Farm, it is such a wonderful place for a story to be set and i absolutely loved becoming immersed in this one!
I loved this book and all its wonderful characters too. It was a beautiful read, so heartwarming and emotional in places and was written really well too.
I am now going to go back and read all the books from this series that i have missed as i still need to get my Puddleduck Farm fix!!!
Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
Another fabulous book by Della Galton.
It was lovely to be back with the characters at Puddleduck Farm.
The vets surgery is still going well, but it doesn’t give Phoebe much time to spend with Sam.
Maggie is planning for her upcoming wedding, but keeps changing her mind about some aspects.
After some sad news, Rufus finds that he has some decisions to make.
We read about Sam’s Mom who is dealing with something which she doesn’t want her family to know about.
So much happening through the pages of this book, you just don’t want it to end.
I highly recommend this book.
Brilliant to be back at Puddleduck this time with a few adventures going on. Phoebe's vets is going from strength to strength and her team is running like clockwork. Her grandmother is tying the knot and Tori her best friend is having a baby. Sam and her are having a great time exploring their new relationship and there is something happening up in the estate. Great to catch up with everyone and looking forward to the next visit.
It was wonderful to be back in the lives of all those close to Puddleduck Farm.
Life at the vets surgery is going perfectly although Phoebe and Sam don't seem to have much time for each other, Maggie is planning her wedding but changing her mind every few days. Rufus has some life changing decisions to make and Sam's mum is battling a secret condition. But all the stories come together in a perfect cosy read. A lighthearted book with several funny moments, life is never serious for long. This series is similar to going to a friends for coffee and staying for wine and dinner because you don't want it to end
It was great being back at Puddleduck Farm and Vets and catching up with all the realistic characters. Vet Phoebe is busier than ever and her relationship with Sam is going from strength to strength. There is also the fact that her Grandmother Maggie is getting married again and has become the tiniest bit of a bridezilla. As always though there is some drama and not everything is running smoothly for all of the local residents. Amongst other things Phoebe’s ex Rufus is struggling, something isn’t quite right with Sam’s mum Jan, and not forgetting the antics of all the animals! I have absolutely loved this series and feel and that even though there is drama and heartbreak along the way, this is a really warm and feel good read. Thanks to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the ARC.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters were wonderful and their stories were wonderful and you really take them to your heart. Great friendships and the stories of the characters lives were heartwarming. It was difficult to put down.
What a wonderful story! Phoebe and Sam, Tori and Harrison, and Maggie and Eddie all moving forward in their relationships. Rufus finding out how to live his own life. A mystery to solve. And lots of wonderful characters and animals. Well paced, easy reading. Although I haven't read the first 3 books in the series (a situation I intend to remedy asap), the story was really easy to pick up with plenty of explanation of how things had gotten to this point. It can be easily read as a standalone but I think reading the books in order will give a much richer experience. Really enjoyable.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
Good to be back at Puddleduck farm again. I have read the others in the series but, if I’m honest, I’ve read so many other books in between that I had forgotten much of what had happened. However, the way this is written not only prompted my memory but also allows it to be read as a stand alone novel as the author adds small, naturally occurring, re-caps about certain characters or situations which not only help the storyline grow but also enables a greater reader understanding.
I did enjoy that, like the other books, there are at least two storylines running concurrently as this increases interest throughout the book.
I do hope there is another book to come, with wedding bells ringing and confetti falling once again at Puddleduck farm.
I have to say, I was shocked and saddened when I found out that this is the last book in the Puddleduck Farm series. I’ve only reviewed the first one and loved it. I have to go back and catch up on the books I missed. It’s such a well written series that I want to experience all the books in order now.
I just love Phoebe and Sam, and am a horse lover, so the pony incident and every reference to horses and/or ponies as well as riding them was a winner for me. The New Forest is an iconic and idyllic place, and I have never forgotten a visit there during a past vacation. Pheobe’s passion for her job is just as awe inspiring as in the first book.
I was glad Rufus had some developments in his life. I was concerned for Jan and her health and pleased and humbled at howeveryone rallied around to help her.
Living the Dream at Puddleduck Farm is the perfect finale to the series and I am sad it has ended.
Thanks to Della Galton, Boldwood Books and Rachel’s Random Resources for my eARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.
5 stars
I do enjoy this series its so lovely. The vets, the animals and the romance. I hope there is more to come as I want to read more about Puddleduck farm. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
