Freida McFadden, I keep coming back for your addicting books. The Teacher did not disappoint.

We can agree or not, lol, that if you’re a Freida Fan or not, you already know her books can come with some unlikeable characters, some wayyyyyy out there unbelievable plot twists and some pot holes but still you’re here because you know you’re in for a fun twisty ride! Cancel my plans, I’m booked! And Freida has me hooked with every book.

I listened to this one and the narration had me gasping at times! Such a fantastic performance.

Thank you to the publisher for granting me access to an ALC to listen to through NetGalley in exchange for my honest thoughts. All opinions are my own. I’m looking forward to this author’s next fast pace popcorn thriller.

Listen yall, this was the first Freida book I have ever read and my goodness. Those twists. Some times I would have to rewind the audio just to make sure I heard it correctly. It was that twisty in this one.

The narrator was fantastic and brought these crazy characters to life. I truly enjoyed this one and so much more in audio. Hearing it was just as if I was watching a movie. Loved it!!

3.5⭐️ I’ve come to expect shocking twists and turns with Freida’s books, and The Teacher was a page-turner with plenty of dark twists. The story follows a couple with an unraveling marriage, and exposes a student/teacher relationship that would typically turn me away, but for some reason intrigued me as to where the story would go.

I listened to the audiobook format and enjoyed the narration and kept me plugged into the story.

*many thanks to Dreamscape and Netgalley for the gifted copy for review

This was my first Freida McFadden book and I was interested to see why she is so popular. I feel like she might be this year’s Colleen Hoover. The only thing that I liked about this is that it was over quickly. There was so much going on with the plot, much of it implausible and very disturbing. It wasn’t the worst book I’ve ever read, but it doesn’t make me want to quickly read another. The narrator did do a good job with the audiobook, so that was a plus.

I'm definitely a McFan, having read several of Freida McFadden's books, but this one was not for me.

Frieda McFadden was recommended to me by a coworker and I'm so glad she was. The Teacher is about a student who was accused of having a relationship with her math teacher the previous school year and no one believes that nothing happened. This year, she is struggling with bullying and has lost her best friend. She quickly befriends the very handsome English teacher and soon things start to go awry.

It's so hard to not like the main character, Addie, and the English teacher's wife Eve In some ways they are also very relatable and in others not so much. High school is hard and you can definitely tell this is the case for Addie.

This book eventually took quite a few unexpected dark turns and I'm quickly learning that's what Frieda McFadden books are all about. I really loved the unexpectedness and the constant guessing of what's next.

The story is primarily told from the perspective of Addie, but towards the end it changes perspectives to Eve and Nate.

I quite enjoyed that it was narrated by two wonderful narrators Leslie Howard and Danny Montooth.
They did a great job telling the story and bringing the characters to life.

Rating: 5 - this is another must read for all thriller fans out there.

McFadden does it again with a page turning thriller with a fascinating reveal at the end. Fast paced, gripping story that at times makes you question the plausibility....but it's fiction. Audiobook was excellently narrated and engrossing. Perfect for those looking for a beach read with a little bite to it.

Holy twists!

This book may seem stale on the surface but has hidden secrets. This book follows a marriage on the rocks, a students looking for acceptance, and an inappropriate student/teacher relationship. Though some of the twists were expected, the one at the end was a Freida McFadden trademark twist.

While not my favorite book by Frieda McFadden, the twists still got me and I will read anything she writes.

Another twisty tale from Freida McFadden. I just love how she can catch you off guard and make you think you know what's going on until it's too late

Loved this. This was my first Freida McFadden novel but it certainly won't be my last. Gripping and extremely fast-paced.

I have read or listened to quite. bit of Freida McFadden's work. This one didn't quite hit the way others have. There were many surprising plot twists and turns. I think the subject matter of a student-teacher affair made me uncomfortable.

Well Freida does it again! This story definitely took me for a ride- especially because I work in education myself, which made parts especially hard to read. I wasn't sure what to expect out of the student main character- what did she really have to do with the former teachers leaving? What would she get up to with her new English teacher? Well... way more than I thought! And then the end continued to shock me- I didn't expect the continued twists (although I should have- it's Freida)- and I didn't expect her guy friend to also be the man the wife was sleeping with! I'll never miss a Freida McFadden release- to me they are easy, devourable thriller reads that I know I'm going to enjoy. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc!

5 stars. The Teacher by Freida McFadden - A full 5 stars from me. I'm pretty sure that's because it has a little nod towards Edgar Allen Poe, but oh well. This was fun. I don't usually like predatory student/teacher plots, but this one had so much more to it. And I KNEW the ending was coming. I was hoping it would be a bit creepier and that the husband would get freaked out a little more, but it was still a pretty solid ending.

This audiobook is narrated by Leslie Howard & Danny Montooth.

I got the audio version of The Teacher and I have to admit the narrators did an excellent job of delivering this twisty thriller story to life.
This story was told in multiple POVs – Addie, Eve and Nate offering a glimpse for the readers to know their thoughts.

There are time that I feel so frustrated while listening to this book every time I listen to Addie’s POV. Listening to her being in love and always defended the guy she’s in love with felt repetitive, hence annoyed me.
Nevertheless, I admire the narrator’s skill to get that tone of a teenage girl whose head over heels.

Overall, this is a captivating fast-paced thriller that had me hooked me from the beginning until the end which come with an unexpected twist and a satisfying ending for all the characters.

I received an advanced review copy for free through Netgalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Huge thank you to the author and publisher!

okay if you have a trigger warning with TABOO please do not read this
I personally dont care for it but not triggering.
This was actually really good and i like the twists and turns and I could have used a bit more suprise Louboutins. I think that would have really enhanced the books plot.
I absolutly feel like all 3 main characters were appaling and I hated them all becuase there was just nothing redeeming about them.. but i also feel it really sold the book.
There are like 5 plots going on at once so there is stuff coming at you from 3 different people so bear down because its chaotic. I think removing 1 or 2 of those would have flowed better. but all in all it was a good read.

The Teacher
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Author: Freida McFadden

I requested an audio advanced readers copy from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media and providing my opinion voluntarily and unbiased.

Synopsis: Lesson #1: Trust no one. Eve has a good life. She wakes up each day, kisses her husband Nate, and heads off to teach math at the local high school. All is as it should be. Except… Last year, Caseham High was rocked by a scandal involving a student-teacher affair, with one student, Addie, at its center. But Eve knows there is far more to these ugly rumors than meets the eye. Addie can’t be trusted. She lies. She hurts people. She destroys lives. At least, that’s what everyone says. But nobody knows the real Addie. Nobody knows the secrets that could destroy her. And Addie will do anything to keep it quiet…

My Thoughts: McFadden is one of my favorite thriller authors. I will read anything, anytime, every time blindly. I know that I will get a story full of twists that will keep me engaged from cover to cover with the unpredictability elevated, and even when I think all the twists have been revealed, boom we get another. Eve has a good life, she teaches at the high school and is married to a very charming man, who also teaches at the school. Last year, there was a scandal involving a student and a teacher, Addie was right in the middle of the action. Eve knows that Addie is not a person to get close to. What happens when the real Addie shows up? Will the secrets begin to spill over? What lengths will Addie go to in order to keep the secrets buried?

The story is narrated in a dual perspective by Eve and Addie. Eve teaches math and is obsessed with shoes, specifically Louboutin. Addie is a junior at the high school, who is being bullied due to an unfortunate incident the year before. The story opens up with some on digging a grave and I was like yes!! The characters were well developed with depth, mystery, intrigue, and were creatively curated. The author’s writing style was complex, suspenseful, twisty, and brilliant. The characters were built up through the chapters, the plot was delivered in many layers, and the ending was well executed and was just perfect for this storyline. As with most of McFadden’s novels, once I start, I have to go the long haul to the end in one sitting. While some things may be a bit far fetched, I still really enjoyed this novel.

Trigger warning: this story contains a child and teacher relationship that rises to the level of inappropriateness, even being a work of fiction, I know that this may be a trigger for some people. The narrators, Leslie Howard and Danny Montooth, do an amazing job. They have superb voice variation with character distinction. The pitch and flow worked well and I was able to listen at 2x with no issues keeping up. This was a gripping, addictive, captivating psychological thriller that kept me on my toes. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Oh this was good! I read this with my work book club. We chose this because we wanted a quick read-one that we knew would hooks us- so of course Frieda McFadden was thrown in as a contender. We work in education-a mix of teachers and support staff-so The Teacher was a no brainer! I can’t lie, because of our jobs, it gave major ick vibes but Freida McFadden knows how to hook you and her endings are always twist and twist. I really enjoyed this and highly recommend it if you are looking for a quick, entertaining read.

Thank you, NetGalley, for an audio-ARC of The Teacher by Frieda McFadden; narrated by Leslie Howard and Danny Montooth.
In true Frieda McFadden style, this book contains characters that reader loves to hate and plots that make you cringe. However, McFadden has a way of making you want to read on and keep coming back for more. The big twist at the end of this book was a bit too cringey for my taste, but overall it was a decent read.

I liked and didn't like this book. First off this is my first book by this author I have been hearing so much about.

This one starts out with a bang then falters a bit and then swings back at the end. This is another one where its hard to not give anything away. But know the 3 main characters are all very unlikable.

The narration by Leslie Howard and Danny Montooth was very well done.

I would read another book by this author.

3 stars

I received this audiobook from the publisher Dreamscape Select, Hollywood Upstairs Press and NetGalley for a fair and honest review.
