"Life F*cks Me Everyday" by Jasmine J. is an evocative and deeply personal poetry collection that takes readers on a journey through the raw and tumultuous aspects of life. Jasmine J. tackles themes of mental health, trauma, grief, and loss with an unflinching honesty that resonates deeply.
The book is divided into five chapters, each focusing on different aspects of the human experience. The poems are a mix of stark realism and poignant introspection, reflecting Jasmine’s background in psychology and her ability to articulate complex emotions. The writing is cathartic, providing a sense of solace for those who have faced similar struggles.
One of the most striking aspects of Jasmine's poetry is its authenticity. Each piece feels like a window into her soul, offering readers an intimate look at her pain and resilience. The collection doesn't shy away from the harsh realities of life but instead embraces them, turning pain into a form of art that is both beautiful and heartbreaking.
For me, reading "Life F*cks Me Everyday" felt like a conversation with a close friend who understands the depths of despair but also the glimmers of hope that can be found even in the darkest times. Jasmine J.'s ability to capture the essence of human vulnerability and strength is what makes this collection so compelling.
If you're looking for a poetry collection that is both raw and healing, "Life F*cks Me Everyday" is a must-read. It's a testament to the power of words to confront and heal life's toughest moments, making you feel seen and less alone in your struggles.
The Kindle edition is a bit wonky, but the book over all is great! It's exactly what any modern poetry lover would love to have in their gallery.
Thanks to NetGalley and Success Publication for the digital galley of this book.
This poetry collection delves deep into complexities of being human. Split into five chapters, it gives insight into our shared experiences. Themes include mental health struggles, trauma, love, grief, and loss.
I’ve been trying to get more into poetry for as long as I can remember, and every once in a while, I’ll pick up a few collections and just let the poems wash over me. I’m glad I picked this one up. It resonated with me, and I found a lot of myself in these poems. The title and cover hooked me, and while sometimes I don’t “get” poetry, I had no trouble with these poems and go really into the collection.
Beautifully written 💙
What I love with poetry is that even though the verses are short, it still have a strong effect on me. May it be touching my soul or tapping into my emotions. It also helps me heal in ways that me feel heard or feel like I am not alone.
Somehow, I could feel the emotions of the author while writing all of it. Some of it really hits hard specially if it's close to what I've been through before or currently going through it.
This one hit me, over and over again. So many words that feel like my own thoughts.
A powerful read, written well, with simple turn of phrase that hits hard.
Firstly, Jasmine, are you okay?
Favourite Quotes:
"In my life, I dreamt of moving mountains
Only to find, That I could barely climb them"
"I am hanging by a thread
Ad as the thread snaps
I dream to be hung
By something
A little stronger"
"In you I see so much
Of what I aspire to be
Yet so much
Of what I hope I will never become"
Some of these poems were dark, some of them were flirty and loving. I think the only thing I would change would be the order of some of them. It started dark, got loving, then there was a few about her dad (?) and then out of love/problems? and back to dark
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed these, and it was a very quick read but leaves you thinking for a while afterwards.
I received a review copy from Netgalley, but all thoughts are my own :)
An emotional journey captured beautifully in the form of poetry. This anthology, divided into five poignant chapters, explores the highs and lows of the human experience with themes like mental health, trauma, love, grief, and loss. The raw honesty of the author is truly commendable, making each poem resonate with authenticity. What I really loved most about the book is how it serves as a lifeline for those going through similar struggles. Life F*cks Me Everyday is a reminder that, even in life's challenges, there's strength in solidarity. Reading this collection was a cathartic experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking solace and understanding.
Hold onto your emotions and buckle up for a wild ride through Life F*cks Me Everyday! This poetry collection is not your typical snooze-fest; it's a rollercoaster of feels that'll leave you contemplating life in the most relatable ways. The author doesn't shy away from diving into the messy stuff—mental health struggles, heartbreak, and all the chaos life throws at us. But here's the kicker: it's not a pity party; it's a celebration of survival. The poems hit hard, but they also lift you up with a "we're in this together" vibe. And the artwork? It's like the cherry on top, adding a visual punch to the already powerful words. If you're tired of pretentious poetry and want something real, grab Life F*cks Me Everyday. Trust me, your emotions will thank you later.
You never know what to even expect while starting a poem book, and this one got me by surprise!!
It brought out so many emotions in me in only 140 pages, it's a short book, but I read it in one sitting then proceed to stare at my wall for some good minutes because I definitely needed time to process my emotions!not to mention, this one made me cry!
I'm Not a professional when it comes to poetry, I've had recently started reading them but unlike other poems that has many meaning hidden beneath layers of words, this one was surprisingly easy to understand even for whom recently started reading poem!
Every single poem touches your heart differently depending on how much you relate to them.
Some beautiful line art compliments every poem, which made it more aesthetically pleasing.
Poems are mostly about loss, depression, love etc… so be aware of the warnings before reading.
Apologies
I hand out“ I'm sorry’s"
Like “excuse me’s”
As if I am
Constantly

"I would like to thank Net Galley and BookBuzz for providing me with this digital copy in exchange for my honest review.
I loved this poetry book! It was beautifully written and was done in a way that really pulls at your heart strings. The poems in this book are also very parallel to some of the feelings that I’ve been having lately. I found myself taking several breaks to ponder the beautiful poetry that I had just read. I am very excited to buy the physical copy so that I can go through and put tabs in the poems that impacted me the most.
I cannot say that I’m an expert in poetry as I think this is only the second collection that I’ve read.
This was equal parts heartbreaking and beautiful. Gorgeous illustrations added to the beauty of this book.
There are quite a few trigger warnings here but I will definitely be buying a copy of this for my friend.

You know where length really doesn't matter? In poems like these.
In poems like these, every single word hits a different place in your body and soul. With poems like these, you don't want it to end, you want to go deeper into the story and emotions.
But in the end you always whirl around, trying to patch up the missing links and bring the poem, dare I say, yourself, into the strongest embrace - but you can't. 🫂
With that being said, I simply want to thank the poems that touched my heart, that made me feel heard and understood. Three more lovely poems fresh from my camera roll:
"Sometimes,
I dream.
And sometimes,
I wish I could do it forever"
"Once my lids
Close like garage doors
I notice just how much
I relate to
The forgotten clutter"
"Your arms
Are the walls
To the safest home
I have ever known"
Okay, I will stop, even though I have so many more to share. Jasmine J., I will remember you and your f*cking beautiful words!
Thank you BookBuzz and NetGalley for my first ever ARC in exchange for an honest review! Life F*cks Me Everyday: A Poetry Book will be out on 01/26/2024.
I'm not typically a poetry reader, but the title totally grabbed my attention and I'm really glad I read this.
The poetry was really deep and thought provoking and I really enjoyed how it was split into categories. A really clever concept and not all fluffy and light - really deep and powerful.
I'd definitely recommend this poetry book to everyone - even if it isn't your go to genre.
Thank you Netgalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review.
i read her poems in one sitting and it was a lot to process especially by being so relatable i cried a little honestly. it however gets you thinking about how not everyone is brave enough to write about human traumas that the world struggles with more and more every day that’s not like a doctor.
I requested this book based solely on the title. What I wasn't ready for was how heavy and impact full the material was. I connected with so many of the pieces. Many of the poems gave me chills and I was nearly brought to tears on many occasions. I had to close my eyes and process after a few of them. I will be acquiring a physical copy to reread, annotate, and love. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys darker heavier poetry. Please stay safe and take care.
This anthology takes a deep and introspective look at the human condition, exploring the universality of human emotion. Readers are sure to find a plethora of relatable and pertinent material here and, to my mind, it is a collection that many will reach for again and again as personal circumstances continue to naturally ebb and flow. Recommended. 4.5 stars
Many thanks to NetGalley and Success Publication for an ARC.
“If I was a mime
I’d mimic someone
Who loved themselves”
A beautiful collection of poetry about how freaking rough the world can be. In addition to the highly relatable and beautifully crafted poetry, it is joined by the cutest little illustrations that really bring this collection to a higher level.
This is my favorite kind of poetry, that speaks directly to your soul and convinces you that you aren’t going through your struggles all alone.
I highly recommend this collection to anybody looking for reassurance that they aren’t alone in the struggle that is life. Although keep in mind that there are very difficult topics discussed!
Big thanks to Netgalley, Bookbuzz.net and the author Jasmine J for allowing me to read an E-Arc of this collection!
This is the best poetry book I have found in 2024. This book is.really a healing book for me. This collection is way.deep and I can really understand why she wrote this book. The book made me cry because I surely can relate, boy can I relate!! Its not the poetry that hits me hard, is the one sentence phrase she writes. Those have more meaning to me. As the book goes on, she finally finds her happiness. Again I can relate. Thank you for writing this collection!!!
I received a.free.copy of the book and is voluntarily writing a review
Jasmine writes with such finesse. I loved the variety of emotions I felt as I read through each part. Some grabbed my attention more than others but they each spoke with such honesty. As someone who has lost a parent, I was immediately drawn to her part on grief and how we as humans process it. I have nothing but great things to say about this collection of poetry!!!!
Picked this up for the title and really enjoyed the first section (I loved loved LOVED some of the poem, the opening one in particular).
