Wish I would have read number one first, Unfortunately this book was VERY slow paced and did not hold my attention. I got to about 25% and had to DNF this book. I believe this author has high potential however this one just was not for me.

Becky Wade is a must read for me no matter what the book is about. I loved everything about this book. I loved the fake dating trope and the mystery woven into the story. All the side characters are charming and made me smile from ear to ear. Becky Wade knows how to write a slow burn romance and I am here for it. Wonderful, wonderful book! Definitely read it!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I laughed (that meet-cute!!), I swooned (Jude!!), I cried (Fiona!!)
And I had So.Much.Fun. reading this book! I cannot get enough of heroines who ruffle the hero's feathers. It's SO endearing! (iykyk!) I found myself laughing throughout the story and, honestly, that's one of my favorite parts of reading - when the author makes me laugh. I enjoyed Gracie's love story and was delighted with one detail in particular in her history. I am incredibly invested in Fiona reconciling with her sister and so that storyline continues to touch my heart. The faith elements in this one were spot on and I think will speak to many readers. There is so much to love about this story and I cannot recommend it enough!

Jude is a “By the Book” FBI Agent and Gemma is a perfumer who lives life to the fullest. Can they start a fake relationship and convince everyone that they should be together without getting feelings, in a profession where feelings aren’t allowed?

I started this book on Friday and finished it today. It kept me intrigued from start to finish. I liked the first Sons of Scandal book but I loved this one. I’m patiently waiting for the third one now.

This is my first book by this author but the second book in the series & overall I enjoyed it!

The first meet was super funny & had me cackling. I loved the contrast between the two characters & their personalities. They were so different & yet so perfect for one another.

I will say that the multiple points of view sort of confused me a bit. It felt like there was a lot of different things going on at once & while I did like them, I felt myself wishing there was more of the actual FBI case. The families on both sides were meddling and hilarious and perfect but I did find it hard to keep track of Gemma's family since everyone's name started with a G!

I'm excited to read Max's story next!

The second in the 'Sons of Scandal' and I have to say that I enjoyed this even more than the first book. Despite it being part of a series, it can be read as a standalone as the characters are linked by familiarial lines but the story itself isn't overlapping. The book is a mystery, romance and a continuing family story.

The book features multiple points of view and a few side quests which keep the story moving along. I especially enjoyed the historical plot (Will keep quiet as I don't want to spoil it). I enjoyed the spunkiness of the main character and the interesting hero.

I receive complimentary books for various sources including, Netgalley, Authors, and other such sources. I am not required to write a positive review and have not received compensation.

First I just want to say thank you to Netgalley and Victory Editing for giving me the chance to read Rocky Road!
This was a cute and suspenseful romance that I really enjoyed reading!

then you'll also enjoy reading this book!

Though both Gemma and Jude were two very different people, it was obvious that they were meant for each other. It was also sweet to see the different relationships forming throughout the story.
The one thing I wish was different was that it told us each time whose point of view it was, so I wasn't left guessing. I normally prefer to have the two main characters pov's only, but it was an interesting change.
Rocky Road was overall a good story that made me smile to see Gemma and Jude become closer to each other. Jude went from a closed off perfectionist to a person that was more open, tried to do things differently more often, and most importantly, a person that learned accept his love for Gemma. I loved Gemma's personality and it was very interesting to learn about her perfume business and the way she went about life, as well as see her fall in love with Jude.
I hope to enjoy the final book in the Sons of a Scandal series just as much as I enjoyed this one!

Another delightful rom-com mystery from Becky Wade with all the fun elements of a Hallmark mystery and without any of the cheesiness!

Ever since meeting Jude in Jeremiah’s story, I’ve been eagerly awaiting his happily ever after. When uptight FBI agent Jude meets Gemma, the messy, adventurous perfume creator, sparks fly. But an agent can’t fall in love with his witness—and fake girlfriend—in an active case. Not without risking everything.

If you’re looking for a story with a forbidden love & fake relationship, big families, World War 2 Code Girls, FBI investigations, fascinating perfume details, adorable friend & brother bonds (Jude & Max & Jeremiah), and a heartfelt message dealing with perfectionism, control, and grace, this book is for you!

*Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for the complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.

Thanks to netgalley and publisher for this arc. The first book of series was heavy this not so much which I liked. We were introduced to Jude in his brothers book and we get a fake dating but can't date because we're working a case together story. Jude spouting poetry out of nowhere SWOON adored Jude in last half of book when he finally wasn't being his annoying rule following self. This was far too slow burn for me though and so much faith and family hogging up too much time and book space.

Opposites attract when buttoned-up FBI agent Jude Camden meets live-in-the-moment perfume artist Gemma Clare. As they undertake an undercover operation to save her family's ancient perfume secrets and put the villain in jail, Jude has to do the one thing he has never done before...let a woman get truly close to him. Throw in a mystery about her great grandmother's secret WW2 past, and you've got the makings of a great book!

This fake-dating romance pulled me in from the beginning, and I didn't put it down until I finished it. I'm already looking forward to Max's story in book three!

This was so cute and fun! Rocky Road is the second book in Becky Wade’s Sons of Scandal series. I was super excited to read this one and it did not disappoint! The cover is also really cute!
Jude and Gemma were just the sweetest couple together! They really balanced each other out. Jude was a straight laced kind of person who valued perfection. However Gemma managed to shake up his life in a way that he never expected. Gemma was trying to protect her family and do good. But getting to know Jude was a fun addition to her plans.
Gemma was a breath of fresh air, I loved her from the beginning. She was so fun and I like how she balanced Jude. Gemma was quirky but she was kind. I also adored her relationship with her family, they were so sweet together. Gemma had to learn to let Jude in and be vulnerable with him.
Jude was also so fun. He was such a grumpy person but he genuinely cared for his family and those he brought into his circle. Jude was weary of others but Gemma had a way of breaking down his walls and making him want to be better.
I really enjoyed the banter and chemistry between Jdue and Gemma. There were times when I wanted to laugh after reading about their interaction. The storyline was interesting and I was drawn into the story. I wanted to see how Jude and Gemma were going to make their fake relationship work for the operation. I liked seeing Jeremiah again and seeing hints of the next book.
I would totally recommend Rocky Road! I adored the characters and the story. There was the perfect hint of mystery and romance which was of course missed with the perfect amount of faith and family. This book is a must read and I cannot wait to read the last book. Rocky Road is a clean Christian contemporary romance.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, I was not required to write a positive review.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

Wow this was an awesome read. The characters are witty and believable, you want to laugh with them and cry with them, and the thrown in suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat.

An FBI agent and the perfumer who helps his undercover operation are tangled in mixed feelings and doing what is right. Toss in some interesting family dynamics and you have a well written and well rounded storyline.

Definitely a five star rating in my opinion. I can’t wait to read more of this author.

I always enjoy reading books by Becky Wade. She is good at balancing sweet romances with interesting storylines. This particular book, "Rocky Road", is all about a young lady named Gemma who runs a perfume store. Perfumes are the family business, and their secrets are closely guarded. Unexpectedly, she's approached by FBI agent Jude, who needs her help to take down her cousin, Cedric, who is an up-and-coming criminal. When Gemma agrees, she's thrown into a fake dating scheme which quickly begins to blur the lines between acting and real feelings.

I always enjoy the fake dating trope, and this book was no different. I also enjoyed the side story, with Gemma attempting to discover the secrets in her Grandmother's past. However, the chemistry between Gemma and Jude was lacking in my opinion, and it was hard to believe that the two of them would be drawn to each other. Otherwise, this was an enjoyable book! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Becky Wade did not disappoint with her second book in the "Sons of Scandal" series. Like the first book, "Memory Lane", it took me a few chapters to really get into the story. However, once I did, I couldn't put it down. In fact, I ended up reading it until after midnight last night.

This was a great mixture of a sweet romance, two mysteries, family relationships, and faith without preachiness. There was also plenty of sarcastic dialogue and an adorable dog named Mabel, Characters from the first book were also included in this story which was very satisfying.

I'm looking forward to reading Book 3 about Max.

No profanity or sex. Passionate kissing.

Gemma Clare’s world is turned upside down when she is asked by the FBI to cooperate in an operation with the goal of catching her unscrupulous cousin in one of his shady, illegal business deals. The catch? Gemma has to enter into a fake relationship with gorgeous undercover agent Jude Camden. What could possibly go wrong? With her trademark humor and wit, author Becky Wade has delivered another winner in this second installment of the Sons of Scandal series. Prepare to be entertained!

Thank you, NetGalley, for an advanced reader copy.

Ahh, this book! I loved it from the very first page. Becky Wade hooked me right in, with the conversational and witty tone. I really loved Gemma, the FMC. She is so quirky, but relatable and honest at the same time. I found myself wanting to be brighter and more care-free because of Gemma. The romance is utter perfection in this book. Jude was an easy character to like from the beginning, and I loved watching him melt away his icy exterior as the book went on. The internal dialogue he had with himself with wonderful to witness. I also loved how Becky was able to seamlessly weave two storylines into the story and have them come together beautifully. There is a little bit of everything in this book!

This was my first read from this author and the second book to this series and I enjoyed it! I wish I had read the first book, especially when a character came in that I had no idea about but that’s okay. Fake dating trope, can never go wrong with that. The banter and tension had me, I had a fun time reading this, though it took me a bit to get past the beginning cause it felt rushed but other than that I loved it! I definitely could see a person that loves investigations enjoying this romance.

This is the second book in Becky Wade’s new series, Sons of Scandal. I highly recommend you read Memory Lane before this one, since the two books share a lot of important characters. Once again, I had a very hard time putting this book down.

We’ve got the fake dating trope, forbidden love trope, opposites attract trope, and you can hunt for more. I liked the side plot about Gemma’s great-grandmother and the mysteries surrounding her love story. The interactions between Jude and Gemma are hilarious at time, and made me pull out my tissues other times.

This book was amazing! I absolutely loved the romance. I prefer reading clean romance books and I was very happy to find this one. This book had a really plot and the banter was amazing. I also really loved the characters and the love they had for each other.

Thank you netGalley! My honest review is that I thought this book was a cute romance but was not for me. I just did not connect with the characters that much. I think it will be a good book for people who relate to the characters profession (undercover detective). Overall, the writing style was well written.
