I really wanted to love this book, but while the plot was pretty good, the twists were not there and characters were either unlikable or unrelatable in any way. This is the story of Cassie and her family (husband, Jon and son, Teddy) moving into Jon's childhood home after he's inherited it only to be drawn into a sudden and fast friendship with mysterious Amy threatens everything Cassie believes she is blessed to have. Some of the issues I had with the book were Jon's character (he is blatantly controlling, hateful, and foul-tempered, though successful), Cassie's acceptance of his personality (she bends over backwards to attain physical perfection and outward beauty, paired with a soft-spoken, adoring-wife manner which seems to be expected from her at all times; an archaic, outdated role most wives would hardly tolerate today). In her turns as narrator, Cassie often makes excuses or brushes off Jon's expectations and treatment of her, despite the fact that his behavior cannot possibly be defended by any reader. He is controlling to the point of purchasing her clothes and demanding that her hair and makeup are "just so" even when it is just the two of them, leaving her to not even dare to step foot in a pair of sweats or go without a speck of makeup if there is even a slim chance she will be in his presence. His disdain for her desire to work and his insistence that she not work is equally infuriating, but above all, it is the fact that she is completely blind to his mistreatment of her and her inability to see his behavior as a form of abuse. Becca, the neighbor, is sullen and rude from the outset, which by the end of the book we c an understand, but immediately makes her an unlikable character. Finally, Amy is so obviously up to something that we mistrust her from the start, as is certainly intended by the author. The only characters I liked were Teddy, the innocent 4 year old child in all of this, and Suki, the family's protective German shepherd. As I said, this is a story I really really wanted to like, and all of the elements were there. I could even understand why Amy did the things that she did, but what was frustrating was that there was too much energy put into making Amy seemingly crazy, a stalker, and fixed on hating everyone around her. Jon's character was so vilified from the beginning that it was unrealistic and unbelievable that Cassie would not only be blind to his mistreatment of her, but too weak to stand up to him until the very end. I also found myself wondering how Jon was able to hide his true nature from Cassie for as long as he did. How were the warning signs not there prior to the time when he started becoming more controlling? While possible, as we often see in domestic abuse situations, it seemed he was far too unhinged to be able to hide it as well as he did. This one just didn’t hit for me. The characters seemed under developed and the whole thing just felt really forced. I’m bummed because I was really excited for this but it just didn’t live up to what I thought it would be.

Everything I want in a book is here. The thrill, the emotions, character development, the pacing and the well-drawn out twist!

An enjoyable read and a first that I have read from this author. I would say the only complex character was Amy and the others were hard to relate to at times. I would also say the storyline was somewhat slow to get started but that didn't bother me. It was an easy read and had twists and turns throughout to keep the reader interested. I will definitely check out Maria's other books now.

This was a quick read with some suspense. Characters were a little flat and it didn't take too long to figure out any twists.

I love Maria's books and this one is no exception! I let her in is a chilling, fast paced and twisty psychological thriller which I was most reluctant to put down! It's dark and deliciously creepy and will keep you guessing til the very end! I personally think this is the best one yet by Maria, I'm impatiently awaiting the next! Thoroughly recommend 😊

I Let Her In was an easy, quick read but lacked depth and character development in my opinion.

Cassie has just moved in to her husband’s childhood home with her husband and son. Paranoia has plagued her for along time so shes hoping that the fresh start will spark positive changes in her personal life and marriage. Cassie meets Amy and they hit it off immediately becoming fast friends. Amy’s motives for becoming Cassie’s friend are less than noble. When Amy kidnaps Cassie’s son from childcare, Cassie will unravel a painful truth that changes everything.

This story was an easy read. It was written in a nice way that kept my attention throughout. However, I do feel like the story itself lacked character growth and overall development.

The main twist was frustrating for me because it just seemed forced.

Overall, I think this will be a great beach read or will be good for when you’re looking for something a little less taxing to read.

I Let Her In started off a little slow for me and the main character Cassie was somewhat annoying but other than that the book was ok. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for this arc!

I really liked this book! It was a great page turner. I will admit though, that the characters were pretty frustrating at times. There were several obvious solutions to their problems, such as secret cameras. Overall, the story was great!

Another fantastic book by this author, I Let Her In drew me in from the beginning, full of twists that had me absolutely hooked.

A fast paced thriller which kept me up until the small hours to finish it as I couldn’t put it down. A really good story told from 2 perspectives that delved into an interesting historic moment that set the characters on their paths. Highly recommended psychological thriller with a cracking ending. 5 stars from me.

Another brilliant book from this author, full of twists and turns, very addictive and kept me wanting more as the book went on.

The characters were very well described, just a great book from the beginning until the end which was all brought to a satisfactory conclusion.

I really enjoyed this book. It drew you in immediately and moved at pace.

Cassie was a little naive and gullible at times, which was a bit frustrating. In this day and age, who wouldn't be suspicious of a stranger trying to be your best friend seconds after meeting in a park? And who then gives that person full access to their life?! However, Cassie and Amy were still the most likeable characters by far. Amy said and did some unlikeable things but I still found myself rooting for her.

It was mostly obvious where the book was going but I didn't mind that at all because it was so well written and it seemed the author wanted you to guess what had happened. I always prefer to guess where a story is going rather than being hit with a random twist that makes no sense.

A fast paced thriller. A mystery deeper than an abduction. This is told in multiple perspectives and a good page turner. Couldn't put this down until the end.

I have to say I liked Amy even though she was CRAZY but I was rooting for the truth to come out and I thought Cassie was ridiculously naive. Too much info. she gave out. Also the part about the news was very unrealistic, sooooo much information in such a short time would not happen. I liked the ending and it was a very fast read.

I loved this book from the page one. It has brought me few sleepless night and after read thoughts who is who in the novel. She lead the story perfectly , showing us that twisted mind is never to be underestimated.

So when a Maria Frankland book appears I just have to read it and put everything aside. This was so fast paced, it was a definite afternoon read for me. In my opinion, and not saying that the other books haven't been good, but this one was one of her best. It has unlikeable characters, characters on the side-lines who you don't know how they will feature until they do, mummy guilt and loss of identity. It is all in there and made for such an amazing read.

This is an amazing domestic thriller and if you love authors like Shari Lapena and Freida McFadden, you will love I LET HER IN!

Cassie and Jon move to a new home with their son Teddy. Cassie felt like she was being watched at their previous home, and since moving, its started again. She takes a new job and hires a dog walker who might be more trouble than she's worth.

This was a PAGE TURNER! I absolutely loved the multiple POVs and parts, the revenge plot, and all the unlikeable not-sure-who-to-trust characters in this book! This was a solid read that was easy to be devoured in a few sittings!

I loved the main character, Cassie, because she was a strong female lead who listened to her gut.

Overall, this was a wonderful read and I would definitely read more from this author. I will be reviewing this now, and once again when it releases.
