This was the first book I've read by this author and I will definitely be delving into more. This was a quick paced thriller, with plenty of twists and turns. I definitely didn't have it all figured out which was awesome. Nothing worse than writing out the whole ending in your head before it even happens, which thankfully I wasn't able to here. I look forward to reading many more of Maria Frankland's books soon.

WOW I really enjoyed I Let Her In a psychological thriller by Maria Frankland is my first time reading one of her books.

Cassie is married to Jon and they have a four year old son Teddy and Suki their German shepherd dog. They have just moved into Jon's parent's house which is in an affluent neighbourhood. Cassie feels that someone has followed her from their old address and feels that someone is watching her.

Unbeknown to Cassie Jon has a past that is going to explode and the fragments are about to tear her world apart.

I Let Her In by Maria Frankland is an absolutely gripping psychological thriller with completely unexpected twists! And I mean it! WOW! It's WOW!

Even though Maria Frankland has many books out there, I discovered this author recently and accidentally so when I saw that a new book will come out soon I decided this is my chance to read it to know do I like it or not. And to my surprise, it's not that I liked it, I LOVED IT!

It's fast-paced, there is constant activity, and the main character is a woman of action even though is hard and complicated. What I really liked was that there wasn't jumping back and forth through the timelines! So it made it easy to follow. And the twists! Oh well, they were totally unexpected!

After Jon’s mother's death, Cassie and Jon move to his childhood house. All Casie wanted was a fresh start, to stand her ground, and to be happy! And it would be so easy if dark secrets from the past would not hunt around. The fresh start turns into a fresh nightmare without an easy exit!

Thank you, NetGalley, Bookouture, and Maria Frankland for this book! I am so curious to read more!

This one's a run of the mill domestic thriller with a lot of familiar elements. There's a new friend with ulterior motives, a woman with a seemingly perfect life who hints that something is wrong, a prologue that makes it clear that something awful happened years ago... It's a pleasant enough read, but nothing makes it stand out from other similar books.

3.5

Fast paced thriller that was hard to put down. The characters weren’t my favorite, they were all unlikable and made terrible decisions, but I was definitely hooked from the beginning. The writing was good, the pacing was good, and I thought the twists were well revealed. Definitely recommend to fans of Freida McFadden. It was fun and the last third had my heart racing.

Thank you to the author and to NetGalley for allowing me to read this book!

This domestic suspense title hooked me right away with a death at a party then transitions to ten years later with main characters Cassie and Jon moving into his childhood home after the death of his mother. I disliked Jon immediately because of his controlling nature and was a little exasperated by Cassie's passiveness, but I decided to give her a chance. The tension increased with the introduction of Becca, the neighbor next door. She is unfriendly and distant, and Jon pretends he doesn't know her when it's clear that he does. Everything changes, however, with a chance meeting. Cassie is at at the park with her son and her dog and meets Amy, and the two women become instant friends.

But after hiring her to walk the dog while Cassie returns to the workforce, she begins to think there is something off about Amy, and she wonders why Jon has taken an instant dislike to her and encourages Cassie to let her go. When Cassie finds out that Amy was in prison for a murder that happened in her home years ago, she abandons all contact with her. But Amy is desperate to prove that she wasn't guilty, and desperate people do desperate things.

This was an intense, high-stakes thriller that I thoroughly enjoyed. Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the early copy. This book will publish March 19, 2024.

This was a slow burn for sure. I struggled to want to keep going. I was starting to think it was me, but once I hit 51% this book picked up and took off like a Boeing 747 being tossed around in a tornado. So if hang in there when you read it, it does pick up. It was told in different POVs. Like one POV was about 8 chapters. That was ok for the first character shift, but I really struggled after it shifted back, but then I got the hang of it. I just wish the shifts were more often, but perhaps that helped set the story up, but for me it was tough, I just wanted to see the difference in the other character. I really enjoyed this book once we got through the 50% mark. #ILetHerIn #NetGalley

A different twist on a female stalker story! There’s more to the plot and it keeps twisting and twisting! I love Maria’s style of writing. Her words flow easily drawing you in deeper and deeper. I read this book quickly and continuously! It was a fun, wild ride!

I enjoyed the other book I read by this author and I was looking forward to find out who let who in and what that lead to. :)

Sometimes you meet someone out of the blue and it can be a gift send from heaven, but sometimes even a that kind of gift can be a poisoned one. Sometimes it can be the best thing that could happen to you on that moment, but sometimes you might be too trusting.

Some people can become friends in the blink of an eye, but aren't some a bit too pushy?

You have let her in... Would you like her to stay or would you rather get rid of her the sooner, the better?

I always like it when an author incorporates different points of view.

Little by little the author clarifies everything and I started to see the light. Well, I thought I saw it anyway. ;) but I only say a small part of it. There was still a finale to come that I did not expect and which is always great.

Another wonderful book by this author. I hope she will write many more for me to enjoy. 5 stars

Thank you

Cassie and Jon are excited to move to a new home. Jon’s family home to be exact. One day Cassie meets Amy at the park and becomes her friend. The twists from there just keep coming. I legitimately had zero idea what was happening. You think you do but absolutely not. This thriller is definitely something you won’t be able to put down.

firstly, this was really fast-paced so an easy read i managed to finish within 24 hours, which is always a good sign for a thriller. this gave me serious 'the housemaid' vibes with a cast of really unlikeable main characters (jon) and side characters (becca) (among others), which felt like i didn't really have anyone to root for, in what should have been some high-stakes scenarios. i definitely didn't see some of the twists coming, but i did guess some of the others, which i felt like was because they were hinted at quite obviously sometimes.

thank you to netgalley and bookouture for the advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! This book was so good. We meet Cassie who is married to Jon and they have a son named Teddy. When Jons mother passes away, they end up moving into her house, which is perfect since Cassie no longer feels safe in her home. Cassie seems so sweet. But her husband Jon, I’m not a fan of him. He seems to have a bit of a temper and wants everything his way. He’s not happy when Cassie decides to go back to work. Cassie now needs to find someone to walk the dog. When she takes Teddy to the park, she meets Amy who she hires as her dog walker. But is Amy who she says she is? I definitely get weird vibes from Amy. Something about her just seems off. There were so many twists in this book. You just didn’t know who to trust. This book kept my attention and I didn’t want to put it down. I wasn’t expecting it to end the way it did. I really loved Cassie and Teddy. Thank you NetGalley,Maria and Bookouture. I’m looking forward to reading more books by Maria! #ILetHerIn

I hadn’t read anything from this author before I read this and omg I can’t believe I haven’t. I absolutely loved this gripping thriller from the first page until the last I was gripped. This had a brilliant plot which was fast paced with many twists and turns which I did not see coming.

Cassie is married to Jon and they have a four year old son Teddy. They have just moved into Jon's parent's house after his mum has died. Cassie felt she was getting watched at her old house while Jon was away with work so is happy to be away from there old house. Until she has that feeling of being watched again Jon tells her she is imagining it. So when she meets a woman on her walk with the dog she quickly befriends her but this friend may not be who she says she is.

This was a fantastic gripping thriller which I can’t recommend highly enough. I can’t wait to see more from this author. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my advanced copy of this excellent book.

This book had it all: revenge plots, domestic drama, kidnapping, false friends, murder, and a dog. The beginning was kind of hard for me because Cassie and Jon are two types of people I really hate being around. Jon is controlling, patronizing, and egotistical, while Cassie is subservient, histrionic, and pathetic. Eventually Cassie seems to start getting her act together after she and Jon move into his childhood home. There are a few other characters of note, Becca and Amy, that both harbor secrets about a murder that occurred 10 years ago and that are central to the plot. Oddly, while I disliked Jon and Cassie I'm pretty ambivalent about the remaining characters and none of them felt manufactured in a way intended to make you like them. The pacing was strong, and the plot was clear, so this book was a breeze and I finished it in a few hours.

I loved this book. Maria has a talent for writing plots that make you want to keep turning the pages without stopping. The lead characters really get under your skin and you know how you want it to end! A twisty psychological thriller and I would highly recommend. Thank you to Maria and Netgalley for an advance reader copy.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the chance to read this book. What a roller coaster ride this book is. It hooks you right from the start and doesn't let go until the very end. It starts with a death at a party. Then 10 years later the story picks up when Cassie & Jon move into Jon's childhood home. The next-door neighbor Becca doesn't seem very friendly, and Jon pretends he doesn't know her. Cassie meets Amy in the park, and they become fast friends. But something seems off to Cassie and Jon seems to dislike Amy from the start. When Cassie discovers that Amy is just out of prison for a murder that occurred at her house, she questions Jon, but he refuses to discuss the matter with her. Amy contends she was in prison for a crime she didn't commit and soon everyone seems to be suspicious. Amy wants to tell Cassie her story, but Jon won't let her back into the house, so she does something desperate, and the story take a big turn. There are many twists along the way and it's hard to know who is telling the truth. It's a nail-biting who done it thriller and I'd gladly recommend it.
