Springsteen at 75 by Gillian G. Gaar follows Bruce Springsteen's illustrious career from getting his start in Jersey all the way to his most recent stint on Broadway and beyond. A beautiful coffee table book full of posters, memorabilia and fantastic photos that span his entire life and career. THe book is a great overview spanning all of Bruce's career highlights.

Born to Run was THE album in my early years, and I've found that I appreciate Bruce Springsteen's music more every year that passes. This book was just wonderful. Chock full of pictures and snippets of things that just makes it so easy to read and makes you want to come back again and read the favorite parts. Perfect for Springsteen fans, especially if you are looking for something that documents this mega-star's career.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable account of the life of the remarkable Bruce Springsteen. I learned so much about the man and the music whilst looking at some superb artifacts from his long and successful career. While the author does not go into every detail of his life, the relevant information is well presented and explained. Having lived through a lot of the same period I was reminded of many of the projects that Bruce worked on which gave me great pleasure.

Springsteen is a legend and this book confirms that if it if there was ever any doubt.

A very handsome coffee table book with a solid (if admittedly time-limited) hook, it tells the story of Springsteen turning 75, in 75 double page spreads, which take in his early days, each album, and other historical signposts along the way - so Cklarance Clemons gets his own spread, as does Bruce's legal issues with his ex-manager. There isn't really anything here that will surprise a fan in the writing, whilst each spread is quite detailed (there is room for words because this is physically a big book), the real draw here is likely the photography, some unseen, which does a great job at capturing Springsteen particularly live, in his element. The nature of it being chronological and privileging the albums means that Magic gets as much space as Nebraska, but that's a minor quibble, particularly considering that of musicians with longevity, Bruce has broadly remained interesting as he has aged, be it The Pete Seeger Sessions, or the less great Only The Strong Survive. In many ways reading it as a pdf isn't really an easy way to judge it, its a boutique item for a dedicated fan (a few rungs up from me), and as such its a glossy and surprisingly detailed hagiography, as a fan might want. A book as box set.

This was an absolute treat to flip through. Big photos, only the most important details. There wasn’t a ton of new info for a super fan like me, but I’d love this as a coffee table book. And it was fun to read the last few years since the autobiography was published. As always, an honor to be raised in the time of the E-Street Band.

Bruce Springsteen is a musician I haven’t listened to in a while, but I quite enjoy some of his music and I have to thank the movie Blinded By The Light for that. Nothing wrong with getting into music through a movie and I think it’s truly magic hearing classic rock songs for the first time, no matter when or how.

Seventy five years is a great milestone, known as the diamond, and one of the most famous ’49 babies in classic rock who is still with us today is none other than Bruce Springsteen. This book takes us on a journey through Bruce Springsteen’s life from his upbringing in New Jersey to his earliest forays in music to his peak years in the 70s and 80s to him being recognised as a rock legend in the 90s to his most recent releases and post-pandemic tour of the 2020s. True to the title there are 75 different stories and lots of pictures accompanying the stories so you can immerse yourself in the different eras. Very clever way of organising the book and it’s beautifully laid out. I love these kinds of books because it’s like a documentary and a museum in book and I’m a very visual person and I love seeing corresponding photos that go with the various stories told or the eras being talked about. Sure, while it’s always primarily about the music, image is an important part of rock and roll and photographs are the memories that we have of yesteryear.

Overall, this is an excellent book for any Bruce Springsteen fan to add to their collection. It’s a beautiful and well put together book. An excellent, comprehensive tribute to a classic rock legend.
