Interesting if not particularly likeable characters. Something a bit different here, prepare for some big surprises. A twisty tale that kept me glued to my kindle. My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.
This book was an easy read and a fast read too. And an enjoyable one too i must say
Well paced which i liked.
The central mystery, to be honest was not a mystery to me, i guessed the direction the book was headed in quite early on, hence 4 stars instead of five stars- because there wasn't a mind blowing twist in there.
I liked the descriptions of events and places in the book by the author, not too draggy or wordy
All in all, shall be picking up future books by the author
Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the arc.
Sorry, a DNF. Embarrassing. After the drivel regarding the colour of the kitchen units and the patio furniture, we get the inane comment “she wears dark ratty looking sweatpants and a hot pink long sleeved t shirt with a yellow lightning bolt on the front. Odd, in my opinion. I’d think a writer would choose more neutral tones, like me.” What???
With apologies to the author (who loves her colours!), not one for me.
Thank you NetGalley and Storm.
Thalia and Tabitha are twin sisters who live in the town of Little Beak, with their husbands. As local royalty, they are used to being big fishes in a small pond, and take for granted their privileged status.
But things starts to change when Anne - who is a stranger, but seems somehow familiar - moves in next door. Anne is a writer of mystery novels, but her motives for moving in are almost as mysterious as the genre she favours.
And while both Talia and Tabitha begin to suspect that there is more to this particular story then meets the eye, finding out what lies beneath the glossy cover story is easier said then done...
This is an engaging story with an intriguing set of characters not all of whom are likeable. It holds the readers interest without difficulty and maintains a good pace throughout. It gets 3.5 stars.
This is really great thriller, with a solid plot full of twists. It pulled me in from page one! Loved it! This author is new to me, so I will seek out more asap!
Twin sisters Talia & Tabitha have a wonderful life living in beautiful Little Beak with their handsome husbands. Tabitha and Grant , who comes from a very western family have a beautiful young son. Talia & Zach live next door. The sister are Little Beak Royalty running a very successful cupcake shop while the husbands have their own successful careers. All is going well until Ann an author of mystery novels decides to move in. Is everything perfect in little Beak or who’s secrets are about to be unraveled.
Really enjoyed this mystery and will definitely look out for other stories by this author.
I felt this book was quite “chick lit” to start with before all the suspicious act’s started.
Thank you Storm, NetGalley & Sally for an advanced copy of this book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for providing this book, with my honest review below.
I really enjoyed the thriller, The Secrets Next Door. We follow twins Talia and Tabitha as they navigate their marriages and the new neighbor, Anna, who seems oddly familiar and threatening. This book explored the dynamics of family along with throwing curveball after curveball! Well written, I felt as if I was unwrapping layer after layer as I progressed, not knowing who to trust and what to believe. All good elements when picking up a thriller, and delivered here so well. I did dislike one of the husbands - as I am sure many other readers will - so if you love to hate some characters in thrillers, you will leave very satisfied!
A strong addition to the thriller category, I recommend this to anyone wanting a good mystery.
Thank you to Netgallery and the publisher for this ARC. The publication date is the 4th March. This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I loved it! It had lots of suspenseful moments with many twists and turns that had me gripped to my kindle and made me read long into the night! 😊
My favourite character was Talia as I read the book I wonder what I would do in this situation. This book was so gripping I read it in a day!
Overall, I’d highly recommend this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars! 😊
Great read!
I love a great mystery with twists, turns and surprises! Author, Sally Roysr-Derr has written a great novel about twin sisters who live next door to one another. There is a mystery neighbor who moves in on the street that has you guessing what her role is in this page turner. This book has cheating, lying, betrayal and murder.
I enjoyed the book and look forward to this author’s next novel!
