I love the Ben Harper series and this book definitely adds to the collection well. An old case combined with a current one bounce off each other with so many twists and turns, you don’t know whether you’re coming or going. Highly recommend. It’s full of complex characters that keep you gripped as you really aren’t sure whodunnit.

A phenomenal read, I rarely read a book in one day and read this one in less than 6.5 hours. It's a truly gripping thriller written in a mixture of 1st person narration, Ben Harper, and 3rd person throughout the book. I liked the fact that I was trying to figure out who had kidnapped Madeleine from the beginning and did not manage to until near the end, it was not easy to work out! There are two other books in the Ben Harper series but you do not need to read them first to be able to follow this book.

Written in a 1st and 3rd person narrative, Robert Gold brings us another sensational thriller. After his first two books, I didn't think they would get any better, but I was wrong.

The twists, turns, and mystery throughout the book kept me guessing until the very end.

I enjoyed being reunited with the characters and seeing how their lives progress. Ben is so rogue. He might be a journalist, but he's an undercover cop in the making for sure.

A 5 star read for me, and I already can't wait to see what's in store for the next book.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book.

This series just gets better and better. At first I wasn't quite sure whether I'd like it but it was quick, intense, intricate and exciting. You could read this as a stand alone but if you're going to read the series you definitely have to read them in order otherwise there's lots of spoilers.

There's lots of a characters and stories running along at the same time so you have to pay attention but the ending was very fast paced and emotional.

It’s not imperative that you’ve read Robert’s Twelve Secrets or Eleven Liars, but doing so will make this, his third book, more enjoyable. Journalist Ben Harper is back celebrating his boss Madeline’s father’s birthday. All is well in their restaurant owned by a celebrity chef, and Madeline’s best friend, until she gets into a car and never makes it home. Cue a very anxious father and Ben, who must look into the infamous murder case that made Madeline’s career a decade previously in the hopes of getting her back safely. But this cold case certainly doesn’t feel cold, and while time is ticking Ben burrows further into the past, all the while building very present danger. Let yourself be carried away by this plausible, well written read – it’s no wonder the series has been dubbed Broadchurch mixed with Harlan Coben.

This is the 3rd book in Robert Gold’s series and continues at the same fast pace as the others. This time Ben’s boss Madeline goes missing and he has to go back through her career to try to save her.

Despite being part of a series Ten Seconds could easily be read as a stand-alone book but I’d recommend reading the other two books in the series first.

Thanks to Sphere and NetGalley for the advanced reader copy in return for an honest review.

Absolutely brilliant !!!!!!

Had me hooked the whole way through, loved the jump from characters to have their view,it moved around very quickly but wasn't confusing, was easy to read and follow the story. Also loved how it referenced the previous books 📚 brilliant story line so many twists and loved how it was all tied together, I really hope this isn't the last book in the series, but even if it is it was bloody brilliant ❤️

Madeline Wilson is missing - after departing a birthday celebration for her father, she gets into her car and disappears. In order to find her, Ben Harper must delve into her past and find out who could have a grudge against Madeline - in the life of an investigative journalist, anyone from your past could have an axe to grind.

This is probably the best of the three Ben Harper novels I've read - the pacing is good and the twists keep coming. 4*.

4.5 stars

This is the third book in the Ben Harper series, and my favourite so far! Robert Gold's writing and plotting seems to improve in leaps and bounds with every book he puts out, and this one is no exception. Technically, since this starts with a recap of the past books and a rundown on who the main characters are, you could read this as a standalone if you wanted. HOWEVER, you would be completely spoiled for the twists in the first two books so I wouldn't recommend it.

In this installment, Madeline's first major headline comes back to haunt her.

I don't usually buy physical books when I've already read the ebook, but in this case, I have to. I already have Twelve Secrets and Eleven Liars on my bookshelf and I need the complete set!

I received this arc for free from netgalley.

Robert Gold's third book in this series featuring Journalist Ben harper was a rollercoaster of a ride from start to finish.

Catching up with Ben is like catching up with an old friend and I hope this series continues as I love it

A gripping thriller told from multiple perspectives. There are multiple characters and storylines who are all woven together to tell the story. At the heart is the disappearance of a women after a birthday party. The characters including the supporting ones are well created and add to the story. Never does it get confusing or lose track.

While this is the third book in the series I read this as a standalone and would go back to the read the other books. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Thank you Little, Brown Book Group and NetGalley for this e-arc in exchange of my unbiased review.

I have read and enjoyed the previous book in the series and this one kept me just as hooked and entertained.

A very gripping read. I loved the way all the different storylines came together. It was good to pick up with previous characters although I always find remembering what I need to know at the beginning of the book a challenge.

Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in return for an honest review. Ten Seconds is the 3rd instalment of the series and for me the best book yet. I feel like I really know the main characters by this point, which just shows how good the character development is in this series. A fresh story but with lots of references to the previous books so can be read as a standalone but I’d recommend reading the other two books first as they are really good. I am routing for Ben and Dani and I absolutely loved Sam. Really looking forward to the next book. 5 stars from me.

Another solid read from Robert Gold. I loved it. I whizzed through it.

This is the 3rd book featuring Ben & many other characters. I have loved following his story from book 1 & hope to have many more of them come my way.

Ben’s editor Madeline is kidnapped after a night out & in typical Ben fashion he is roped in to save her while keeping the police & love interest Dani out of the loop.

The story is fast paced & features many different characters but thanks to the writing style it doesn’t get confusing or overwhelming. Some of the newer characters were very enjoyable and I did feel really sad at the end with Lesley’s outcome. I was rooting for her.

I received an advance copy of this from Net Galley for which I am so grateful. I had pre ordered it last year. Bring on the next one.

This is a fast paced and suspenseful read that does not disappoint. I have not read the previous books in this series by Robert Gold, but certainly enjoyed this one.

When Madeline vanishes after a birthday party, the event comes out of the blue. Because although her colleague Ben does see her get into a car, he does not suspect that anything is amiss.

When the investigation into her disappearance begins to delve deeper, Ben - who is a journalist - realises that the incident may have its roots in something that happened a long time ago. But can he discover the truth in time to save Madeline?

Gold delivers a gripping story, with high octane action. So I would quite like to revisit the cast of characters introduced here in Gold's future books!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ten Seconds - Robert Gold

Having read the previous 2 books by Robert Gold - it was great to get back into the pace, the drama and back with the same cast list of great characters for this outing.

Once again, Robert never fails to entertain - with fast moving story lines and the odd surprise thrown in for good measure.

Comfortably safe in the knowledge that the book titles seem to be decreasing by one each time, we’ve still got plenty more to come from this series!

Here’s to ‘9 whatever the title may be’!
