The main character is Amy Gibson, who is working on her doctorate and also has a popular podcast about domestic violence, "Known to the Victim". Amy's whole life changed after the murder of her mother by a man her mother had dated. Her podcast is not just for entertainment, but about educating women about the signs that might mean that they are in a toxic, controlling relationship. One surprise was that it may not be a romantic relationship; it can be a friend, a coworker, an academic adviser, and male or female.

This book is extremely well written and the plot is excellent with just enough clues piling up to where I thought that the author could not possibly be going in a certain direction. But she was. As a woman, I found it deeply disturbing, but if I had any daughters (or if my son was a reader), I'd want them to read this book.

I received an e-arc from publisher Penguin Random House Canada/Doubleday Canada, and vountarily read and reviewed this book.

A psychological thriller that I very much enjoyed. Heavy on the psychological. Not a book that just tries to make you nervous the whole time, as many do, but instead a book that really looks at some heavy issues in a really great way.

This book is about Amy, who lost her mother to murder. Amy runs a podcast from Women against violence, but her morals and everything she fights for gets turned upside down, when her own brother is now being put in the spotlight and accused of some horrendous things. Amy will do whatever she can to prove her brothers innocence. This book is so good, it kept me engaged and wanting to keep turning pages to find out what was going on. This story had me going back and fourth and back and fourth on who I believed and what I thought was going on. Highly recommend reading this book. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC

Known To The Victim is a twisty, head spinning thriller, with misdirections at every turn. So many secrets! I read this in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down. This book had so many twists and turns that it kept me guessing until the end.

After Amy’s mother is brutally murdered, she falls apart. Stops going to classes, stops talking to her friends, stops eating - until her estranged half brother, Oliver, saves her, pulls her out of her despair and gives her a place to live. He gives her a family.

Now Amy is a PhD student and is the host of a popular true crime podcast that focuses on crimes against women committed by their partners. But when Oliver is accused of the unthinkable, something so unlike him. Amy is determined to prove that he’s innocent. As she investigates and learns more about Oliver’s past, she realizes that nothing is ever how it seems.

I really enjoyed this storyline on this suspense thriller! It will have you guessing the outcome with so many twists and turns right from the beginning.
Getting to go through all of the unanswered questions in Amy Gibson’s story, it unravels how her life flipped upside down and what secrets come out of the dark when her brother is accused of the unimaginable! Every character becomes suspicious and even when you think you have it figured out, you got another twist coming! I throughly enjoyed the ending that had this evil grin smeared all over my face.

Some parts of the book seemed to drag out a bit too long but it always followed up with a different twist that had you guessing every move in all of the unreliable characters!

Nothing is as it seems in Know To The Victim by KL Armstrong. A plot that continually shifts and misdirects at every turn. This thriller is fast paced and will leave you questioning everything and everybody as the plot unfolds. I love Kelley Armstrong thrillers and am a huge fan of her stand alones and the Rockton series. I have my fingers crossed that the characters from Known To the Victim, Dean and Amy may continue and develop into a series.

This book was so good! Every time I thought I had it figured out, I was wrong. Therewere so many twists that it had me second-guessing everything!

Amy’s mother is murdered by her former boyfriend when Amy is in college. She starts a true crime podcast dedicated to crimes against women by men they know. When her brother gets accused of gaslighting and attempted murder of his girlfriend, it sets her on an investigation where she learns nothing is as it seems.

A fast paced, thriller that will keep you immersed in the story. You won’t be able to put this one down! I would give it more stars if I could!

I always love a Kelley Armstrong book. This standalone as good, a bit predictable, but at the same time enjoyable. Even with guessing the outcome, I still enjoyed the story and characters. Would have loved to get more background and details on the main male character, but since this is an ARC, that might be added before print. I could even seeing the characters in series if she wanted to go that route.

This book was enjoyable, but a little long. There were lots of twists. Some of them were predictable, but some were not. I feel like this book has a great plot and a good pace.

This book had some twists that I didn't anticipate and it kept me interested in the ending. I don't listen to podcasts but I liked how it was incorporated into the story.

A crime, Podcaster,, for whom tragic death runs in the family, gets served a twist when her brother is accused of the unspeakable. This was my first exposure to this author, but it won’t be my last! Easy read I tore through in an afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed.

Amy is a true crime podcaster that focuses on crimes against women by their partners, when her brother is accused of the unthinkable. This one had me hooked from the first page and I couldn’t put it down. It is a fast paced thriller that I finished in 24 hours (it was that good). So many books don’t have the big surprises until the last few chapters, but this one started with the twists and turns early on. Toward the end, you start questioning every character and can’t figure out who is telling the truth up until the end. This is as a great read and I look forward to reading more from K. L. Armstrong!

Wow! Very informative and interesting! Amy Gibson's mother is brutally murdered by her boyfriend! Amy becomes overcome with grief, heartache and heartbreak! She withdraws from everything and everyone! Until her half brother, Oliver saves her and brings her out of her misery! Eight years later she's doing great! She's the host of a popular true crime podcast! It focuses on crimes against women who's partners are abusive and gas lighting them! She wants to help woman in ways she couldn't help her mother! This is when the story gets very interesting! Oliver is accused of quite a few different things! She knows her half brother isn't like that! But as time passes things become a bit strange with her half brother and she's not so sure just how innocent he is! This book had a lot of very interesting facts that really do happen! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one! I highly recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

Great story! I could guess a couple of the twists...but then discovered they weren't really THE twists. Armstrong is an always buy and read for me and my library and this book is no exception. As a woman of a certain age, I too love to watch all the true crime shows and see the red flags. This book was great in that the main character, Amy, has lost her Mom. Her Mom having been murdered by a person she had dated a couple of times. Amy pretty much spends her life trying to uncover the signs abusers use. I think all women do that to some extent because that is our society.

Can't wait to get this for my mystery fans at the library.
