The design of this book will make this appeal to reluctant readers, as well as enthusiastic readers. I hadn't realised this was the second in the series, so quickly got a copy of the first book and then followed it with this. I laughed a lot, and my class are now asking me to get them a copy of this one. Lots of silliness in this great adventure.
Another hilarious adventure with Danny Todd and his fairy S.Tink. This time we follow Danny as he starts secondary school and finds that S.Tink has returned. Mischief and mayhem ensue involving miniature foxes (horses 😉), an all powerful wizard and a school play.
Perfect for ages 7 and above, sure to have even the most reluctant readers hooked with fun illustrations and easy to read text. This works well as a standalone book with a brief summary of the events from book one. Thank you Farshore for the opportunity to review this delightful book.
The children in my classes have always loved author Jenny McLachlan's Land of Roar series so when she released Stink, I knew it was going to be popular and it was. This sequel has everything book 1 has: an easy-to-read format, humour, great illustrations, and a fairy who tries to do the right thing but creates mayhem in her wake.
This book has the main character, Danny, taking on the role of an evil wizard in the class play. He is already the laughing stock of the school but now he has to wear a ridiculous costume and he can't remember his lines. Oh, and an actual evil wizard has come through Stink's fairy door and is determined to cause his own kind of problems.
I really enjoyed this and I know lots of children at school have been eagerly awaiting this next book in the series. This is an essential book for KS2 classrooms, especially due to the humour and that there isn't too much text on a page. It's perfect for those children needing something other than Wimpy Kid and Tom Gates to read.
Fairy V Wizard

An absolutely 1st class, laugh out loud, cartoon-filled adventure series for 7+ readers.
This second book featuring the world’s funniest fairy is packed full of comedy, wit and cartoons on every page! The joy in my pupils eyes when Jenny’s new novel hits the bookshelf is going to be priceless.
Danny’s life hasn’t been the same since a REAL fairy flew out of a fairy door, attached herself to his hair and turned his life upside down.
School is chaotic!
Home is chaotic!
Life is chaotic!
So Stink tries as hard as she might to get things changed for both herself & Danny. But life, school & fairy adventures don’t always go to plan.
Wanting to land himself the next role in the school play is Danny’s dream but Stink has other ideas!!
And thanks to a misadventure in the science cupboard a giant all-powerful wizard is released into the world.
Jenny has done it again - comedy claims the reader’s attention and another favourite is born. Thank you for engaging our readers and delivering another funny 1st class adventure with Stink!!

FINISHED: these books are so full of chaos, magic and mischief. Stink is back again to wreak havoc on Danny’s life… and when a wizard comes along, poor Danny has so much more to contend with! This made me chuckle and I love all the illustrations throughout!
