This was a fun read that I wasn't expecting. I've never read a book by Alex De Campi and I'll be honest that I wasn't fully expecting the supernatural/magic aspects of this book and for some reason when I was at the halfway point and it's revealed about Misha, I was a little confused. Then I became unconfused.
I was fully just expecting this company that breaks up relationships but I definitely got a lot more than I planned. It was cute and I did enjoy the characters a lot.

Heartbreak incorporated is a fast-paced supernatural thriller which was incredibly addictive!

The two main characters, Evie and Misha were explosive! It was so fun reading about them going head-to-head with each other! I also enjoyed reading about their relationship development!

Overall, this book was an amazing read and I don't want to write too much so I don't spoil anything! But I really recommend this book!

Heartbreak Incorporated was a delightful - and surprisingly poignant - genre mash-up of a book. We meet Evie Cross at somewhat of a crossroads in her life. Trying to make it as a journalist, but not having any success. Relegated to just having to find any sort of job, she ends up in the office of Misha. Misha, a "breakup artist" who works for a law firm, but has some secrets. Secrets that Evie thinks could make for a good story. Secrets that Evie soon finds herself completely tangled up in, along with some feelings about her boss that are probably not HR appropriate.

On the surface, this starts as workplace intrigue, but it quickly morphs into a story of friendship, changed priorities, and learning just how far Evie is willing to go for Misha. It turns out, it's pretty damn far. And the ride is worth every second of their sharp banter and shy moments. Misha is enigmatic and good at putting on a face for everyone. Evie is trying to do something with her life, to do more than just exist. And when they come together, it is sweet and tragic and romantic. Even when things get weird. Especially when things get weird.

This story takes some twists and turns that are unexpected, and I loved every moment of it. It reads like a movie or a TV series, and I mean that in the best of ways. Heartbreak incorporated is a delicious, layered treat that has you rooting for Evie and Misha to figure things out for themselves and for each other.

Ended up DNFing. It started off really good but a few chapters it kinda lost me and I just wasn’t feeling it.

Absolutely lovely! Fast-paced, well-written and with an incredibly likable cast of characters.

I absolutely adored the romance - I haven't been this invested in a fictional couple in a while.

The protagonist, Evie, is a twenty-something woman who is slowly coming to terms with the fact that the career she wants is never going to happen. She's struggling to make ends meet, and to find her place in the world. She's kind, and decent, and principled, and she'll also bull-headed, occasionally selfish and a little bit too curious for her own good.

The love interest, Misha, is the typical ridiculously attractive, ridiculously tall, ridiculously wealthy, dark-haired, blue-eyed leading man of (paranormal) romance - he's got secrets, a dark past he's trying to atone for, and if he were less selfish he would stay far, far away from the female lead. He could have been a stereotype so easily, but the author really digs into what his situation would do to a person, and moreover, she lets him be more than that situation. As Evie laments:
"Why did you also have to be funny and goofy and shy?"

The world-building was also really intriguing, though much of it was shrouded in mystery. I really hope the author writes more books set in this universe.

I’m very thankful to have gotten an arc of this. I initially really like this author’s other book, The Scottish Boy, and so I assumed I would go into this one and end up liking it. Unfortunately, this wasn’t really my cup of tea. I’m not the biggest fan of the protagonist.

Creative and unique approach to the "immortal" hiding in plain sight. A bit of mystery, action, betrayal, and secrets weave through the new employees as they find their place in an interesting workplace. A fun read for paranormal romance fans, and fantasy fans alike.

I found this book interesting and it definitely wasn't boring but I did have some issues with it that lowered my rating.

There was a lot of spiteful talk from Evie about other women she came into contact with, which was really unnecessary. I didn't like her much as a character at all and didn't understand why she was motivated to betray this company that just employed her and even agreed to her being paid a wage she said as a overreaching joke.

Her falling in love with Micha was also a bit unbelievable, I don't feel like they spent enough time together for that to happen yet. And that whole plotline where Micha is also Masha is really messed up and I don't feel like Evie's response to that was believable. It would have been okay for her to be mad at him for more than 5 seconds, to feel lied to, manipulated and spied on.

I also was a bit disappointed in the ending once Misha came back. I feel like the story would have been good for it to end on her own heartbreak and to just be this career driven women finally succeeding and doing it on her own. It's not like their relationship is going to last anyway when he is immortal and isn't going to grow old.

Not really for me. The prose was okay but I could not finish the book. Maybe the story didn't stick with me but I had a hard time even wanting to open the novel. 2 stars.
