I thoroughly enjoyed the first novel in this series and found it to be an absolute showstopper and the second definitely met my expectations. Fast paced, great fun with tons of magic throughout, Garnish writes a lovely fantasy world with vibes of Nevermoor and Amari throughout. The fantasy genre for children is absolutely filled to the brim at the moment, but this story really does stand out.

This was so canny! I really enjoyed all of the characters and their adventure! Will definitely be purchasing for my classroom… lots of my class will love this! Loved the first one of this series and this continues the great story telling.

I did not know about the first installment of the series until I saw this on Netgalley. I have since ordered a copy of the first book from Waterstones. It is in my TBR pile now.

This book is surprisingly easy to follow even if you have not read the first book before. It is beautifully written and full of magic. I love how the author depicts the interactions between the children.
