I adore reading these adventures with my nephew, we love how fast paced the stories are and how you can never guess what’s going to happen next. Definitely fun reading for all ages.
This book made me chuckle. It was easy to read, so I finished it in one go. I wish something like this would happen at my school. I might see if I can find the other Breakfast Club books.
Love that although part of a series can also be read as a standalone. Can be enjoyed by both girls and boys with fabulous illustrations to go alongside. Very entertaining and will keep children hooked!
Marcus Rashford books are always popular in our School Library and are a fantastic bridge in convincing reluctant readers to try a fiction book.
I felt the backbone of the story was slightly weaker than previous instalments, with not as much mystery. Whilst many of our KS3 pupils have enjoyed these books, this felt aimed more at KS2 and it may not hold the attention of a slightly older reader.
Despite this, I'm sure many pupils will want to read it and we will certainly stocking copies for pupils. I'm hoping any future instalments bring back a bit more mystery!
This is another fun adventure for the Breakfast Club Investigators. This time round, a famous comic creator visits the school and sets the children a challenge. However, events take a sinister turn when information collected by different groups starts to go missing. Sounds like a job for the Breakfast Club Investigators. The only problem is Marcus has promised to hang out with Oyin and Patrick as he's been neglecting their friendship recently. Can he find a way to help crack the mystery and keep his friends happy.
What I really like about these books is while the mysteries are taking place, the books subtlety tackle the kind of friendship issues that children start to experience as they get older. It helps the children reading the books to see that they are not the only ones who might be facing these kinds of difficulties and also gives them strategies they can use to try to solve the problems they face. I would definitely recommend this book to our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils as I think they'd really enjoy the fast paced adventure.
The breakfast club adventures: the treasure hunt monsters.
As a family, we are huge fans of Marcus Rashfords previous novels. My son lives and breathes football if he hasn't got a football at his feet, he isn't well. Together we have read every single Marcus Rashford book and have loved them all. So when @netgalley gave me and my son the opportunity to read this we could not be more excited.
This book is action packed, fast paced and great fun to read. My son really struggles to sit down and read more than a chapter at a time so I was shocked when he couldn't put it down, he finished it over 3 days. He mentioned that because of the short chapters it felt so much easier to read and wanted to get more read.
On first opening the ebook my son Oscar told me how much he loved the illustrations on the front cover, he also mentioned that he liked the different text styles as we headed through the first chapter. I would say this book is aimed at children ages 8-12 years. That being said if a child is a more advanced reader and enjoys mystery then this could be for them too.
The illustrations throughout were perfect and helped my son visualise the story.
I highly reccomend and we will be purchasing the paper copy as soon as it is out to add to Oscars collection.
Is there anything Marcus Rashford cant do?
Massive thank you to net galley, Marcus Rashford and Macmillan children's books for giving us the opportunity to read this.

The Breakfast Club Investigators are back again, this time trying to solve The Treasure Hunt race and become the winners. Whilst working out the mystery of the monster that's trying to sabotage them.
This book is aimed at 8-11 age range, it can be read as a stand alone and enjoyed by both boys and girls.
The book has great illustrations to coincide with the storyline and help the children visualise the story and its characters.
The easy to read, short chapters help keep the little readers interested. As do the relatable characters, that have their own individual personalities and interests. I love that this books characters are all equal, from different cultures and backgrounds.
The book has interesting, real and relative themes throughout. Showing the reader about friendship, acceptance, supporting one another, showing individual strengths and resilience. It also lets the young readers know that it is ok to make mistakes and how it is important to own up to them and say your sorry.
That being said this is a fun, fast-paced, action-packed story with a little spooky and suspenseful for anyone one to enjoy.
My son is a huge Manchester United and Marcus Rashford fan, he is also dyslexic and not a strong reader and this series of books helped him to take an interest in reading again. He is excited for this book to be released and cannot wait to add it to his collection.
