This series really does get better as it goes along. A perfect holiday read, humour and mystery. A super read.

Jodie is now once again former-police, and sticky strictly to catering....how is she to now that filling in for a friend selling pies at a music festival, is going to put her and fiancee Nathan (actual police) on the scene of a murder? She just can't help it when bodies fall into her orbit! This is the 7th book in the
series, finds Nathan and Jodie both trying to have a catering working vacation, while keeping an eye on teenage Daisy and her friends (cause a mom has to do what she has to!), only surprise, her Mom is also on scene with her bestie, and then here come Jodie's besties. It's hard to to get your crack team of nosiers into investigation, when they're right there where things are happening! It's a fun romp in the series, and there is much guessing as to who is the actual murderer, as more and more info about the band's history comes out. If you love cozy's with a police twist, this is the series for you!

The Cornish Campsite Murder is the seventh book in the Nosey Parker cozy crime series by author Fiona Leitch. I've long been a fan of this series and feel as if the characters have become friends, having seen them evolve over the series.

Jodie is astounded to discover that a recent dinner she catered was hosted by Caz Harper, the bassist of a rock group she idolised as a teen. Caz, along with some of the other members of the band, have decided to perform at the local music festival. The group are unable to use their original name or much of their old material following an acrimonious split with the band's lead singer, Lee Roskill.

When Roskill's body is discovered the following morning the remaining members of the group immediately become suspects. Each of them has an alibi but as the police, well Jodie and her fiance DCI Nathan Withers, investigate, the alibi's begin to crumble. Having worked as a consultant for the local police in the previous book, Jodie had decided it really didn't work, particularly with her boss also being her fiance. As we learn as the story progresses, Jodie finds it impossible not to get involved with the investigation. Nathan is just as bad as he's supposed to be on holiday.

Initially, it is assumed that the motive for murder is the fall-out of the band members. The investigation points to other possible motives, motives which have been festering for years and still put the other band members at the top of the suspect list. By chipping away at each person's alibi, and a tense stand-off, the murderer is apprehended. I'm now looking forward to the next installment of this cozy crime series.

One of my few criticisms of the previous book in the series was that we didn't see enough of the supporting characters. This time around they all have a part to play in the investigation, although Debbie's usual effervescent self isn't used fully. The supporting character that shines the most this time around is Germaine, the dog.

I binged the first six of these books a while back and had so much fun with this cosy mystery series, with Jodie 'Nosy' Parker, the ex-cop turned caterer who can't help but get involved in the investigations for the local murders. It's obviously in the blood with her father having been pretty high up in the forces, too.
This time, Jodie and her partner, Nathan, a DI, are operating a catering van for a friend at a festival. The only crimes should be how many pies people are eating, Jodie trying to keep an eye on her teenage daughter, with all the drugs flying around.
But that wouldn't be a Cornish mystery, would it?
Playing at the festival is one of Jodie's teen idol bands, and once she gets over her fangirling moment, she's knee-deep in another investigation, as an ex-band member is found dead.
Is it murder or an unfortunate accident?
Well, I shan't tell you because what would be the point of your reading the book?
But it was fantastic to be back with Jodie and the crew, including her daughter and mother, and their dog, as they spent the weekend slumming it (Unless, like Jodie's mum, you were in a luxury yurt!) experiencing festival life, as well as investigating said death.
Again, Fiona, you made me hungry with the food you described!
It's a brilliant addition to the series, and I hope we hear more from Jodie and her crime-busting!

This author is brilliant. A really charming series that gets better every book. Love the characters and the settings and the crimes that are solved. A perfect stress free read that I love and really do anticipate each new book - can’t wait for the next one !

I think this is the 7th in the Nosey Parker series but I enjoyed it every bit as much as the others. Jodie and Nathan are helping a friend out with a catering truck at a festival. What can possibly go wrong.......

This is book 7 of a series I love, Fiona is a clever writer with a lighthearted, self-deprecating humor, and though I don’t agree with every decision her characters make, there is warmth among the family and friends. And the mysteries are solid. Plus Cornwall. Plus good food. I will continue to enjoy and recommend this series.

The Cornish Campsite Murder is yet another confirmation of Fiona Leitch talent to write a good, enjoyable and engaging cosy mystery.

Jodie Parker, our caterer, and her fiancé, DI Nathan Withers are on holiday, but to help a friend they go to a musical festival to replace him selling his pies. They are busy selling food for the party goers' souls and having a good time with their friends and family, until a body resurfaces on the shore and they have to go back to their first job Nathan as a DI and Jodie as an amateur sleuth.

I like this series. The characters are funny and chaotic, they have some true and genuine relationships that always put me in a good mood.
In this installment I have noticed that Jodie seems less nosey, maybe because Nathan lets her snooping around trusting her intuition. They have built a solid relationship, becoming such a tightly-knit and enviable couple.

I would totally recommend reading this book.

The Cornish Campsite Murder is yet another fantastic, quirky, and engrossing addition to the series and my new favorite!! The story is set at a campsite hosting a musical weekend and is filled with the delightful shenanigans of the Parker women - Jodie, her mother Shirley, and Jodie's daughter Daisy.

What could possibly go wrong at a musical event? A murder, of course!

The mystery behind the death - accident or murder? - kept me guessing until the end. The plot thickens and the suspense builds to perfection! Each band member had a motive and the opportunity to get rid of the victim, but they all seemed to have airtight alibis.

Plenty of red herrings and a side story related to the victim kept me hooked, constantly guessing. Was it an accident? Or murder? This question lingered until the latter part of the second half of the story.

The denouement came as a huge surprise, complete with a dash of dramatics. Fiona Leitch's excellent storytelling and quirky characters shine through this novel. I've come to love every character in the series, not just the main ones but the supporting cast as well.

If you're looking for a quirky, cozy mystery that keeps you guessing until the end, give Fiona Leitch's The Cornish Campsite Murder a try.

I started reading this series as I am fortunate enough to live in Cornwall, and am drawn to books based in my home county. Unlike some books I have read, this series really does capture the essence of Cornwall from the descriptions, to the place names, to the quirky characters.

Jodie (Nosey) Parker is an ex Metropolitan Police officer who seems to always find herself involved in investigations that she really should stay away from!

This time she is with her fiancé DCI Nathan Withers at a music festival set on the Cornish Coast. When a body is found on the beach, Jodie just can’t help herself and once again, gets embroiled in the investigation.

A very enjoyable cosy mystery, I look forward to Jodie’s next adventure! 4*

The band is missing its lead singer, so they are a minor attraction instead of a headliner. There are bad feelings between the singer and the rest of the band, and when he is found dead, they become suspects.
Jodie and her friends are a lot of fun to read about, especially Shirley(Jodie’s mum) and Daisy (her daughter). The setting is unique and the mystery well done.

This is part of a series but no need to read the others in order to enjoy. A large cast of characters but easy to keep straight, Jodie was down-to-earth, friendly and fun.

Great addition to a fun series. The music festival was a fun summer affair until the probable murder was discovered. Then former police Josie and her DCI fiance find that there is more to helping out a friend with his food truck besides naming all the pies after people and places relevant to the film DIE HARD. Have some grand groans and snickers while Josie's mom drives them nutz with her Glamping friends as you try to solve it before the constabulary.

A couple, one current and one former police, operate a food truck for a friend during a weekend music festival. One of the performers, who had backed out of his commitment, attends the festival anyway in order to confront his former band mates. When he later turns up dead, was it an accident, or murder?

This was an average read with a slow start. Once the incident happened, the pace picked up a bit, but it still barely held my attention to the end. There were so many characters with odd names and intersecting histories that it was a bit difficult to keep them straight.
