I love Jo Thomas and her books. Another wonderful read which not only evokes the setting beautifully for the reader but contains all the fabulous food references that we all expect from Jo. Highly recommended.

Let me start by saying I love the cover of this book, it is definitely what attracted me to it initially, that and the title. I have read a few books now by Jo Thomas and I can always count on her transporting me away to some beautiful idyllic location, and immerse myself in the local culture and cuisine. This book was no different.
We are transported to the beautiful Provence. Del moved to the south of France three years ago and hasn't looked back. She’s found new friends, new purpose, and is in love. It is a story of love, strong friendships and people coming together as a community to help each other.
What I didn't know when I requested or indeed started the book is that is is a sequel to a previous book called "Escape to the French Farmhouse". I wish I had known this previously and read the first book as there was some things I think I missed like character back stories that didn't really make sense to me and possibly hindered some my enjoyment of this book. That being said it was an easy read and I could smell the lavender fields in my imagination as I read the book. A perfect summer read!
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House UK, Transworld Publishers for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thought and opinions are my own.

A great journey back to Provence. It was lovely to catch up with the characters and find out how life has moved on. An easy summer read that makes you wish you were in France for the summer experiencing the lavender fields and small town life.

Loved that this was a sequel to escape to the French Farmhouse. Slightly repetitive I thought in parts, but totally enjoyable with a lovely ending. I could even see another book in this series. Beautifully descriptive whisking off to the lavender fields. Thank you netgalley for the advanced copy

Another successful story by Jo Thomas. Set in an idyllic scene where I could almost smell the lavender. A lovely story of friendships and romance. Perfect relaxing read.

"I have previously delved into Jo Thomas's work and found her books enjoyable. Unaware that this was a sequel, I struggled with the characters' relationships due to missing context from the first book. While an easy read, this installment lacked the gripping allure I had hoped for. Overall, I found it just okay.

Ever since I read the Oyster Catcher I have been hooked with the novels written by Jo Thomas.
This lived up to all expectations, reading in a cold and wet February in the UK, you are transported to the sun, lavender and warmth of Provence.
Del moved to Provence three years previously, and during her time her husband Ollie returned home to the UK, but Del remained.
Del met Fabien a younger lover and they set up home together. Henri who helped Del when she was first on her own made her a working partner in his bistro.
Sadly Henri dies suddenly in New Zealand while he is travelling with Del's friend.
The book follows the summer, Fabien returns to deputise in his band, Henri's son Zacherie takes over the Bistro and makes it clear Del is no longer required, while Del with a band of helpers bring in her lavender.
A great escapism read.

This book was a lovely follow-on to "Escape to the French Farmhouse", and to discover what happens next to the characters, especially Del, and her community at the Farmhouse.
This was a lovely warming story that made you travel to Provence, and be able to imagine the smells of the local area. This was a great story of a community dealing with adversity and finding who they were in the most unexpected ways.
I would advise this to anyone, but advise it's best to read the other book first as some bits may not make totally sense otherwise - such as Henri and Rhi,

I really loved the first story so was keen to see what Jo had done with Del and Fabian. I’’m never totally convinced of the need to re-visit a couple once they’ve reached their happy ending but Jo does a great job with this one and by the end I was grinning like mad.
A lovely story with a fabulous cast of characters including ones we already know. I love the evocation of France - felt I was there!

Was so excited i to read Jo Thomas’s latest book Love in Provence, and it certainly didn’t disappoint!
A proper gastronomic delight based in the wonderfully fragrant, picturesque Provence, full of friendship, romance , good food, and a sense of belonging!
Jo has the most amazing ability to transport her readers to the location of each of her books and this was no exception, you felt as if you were amongst the beautiful fragrant lavender fields, and sampling the basic but traditional French fair sat amongst like minded people having a wonderful time! Pure summer holiday vibes!
The sense of community, coming together and second chances makes for a delightful read that will appeal to many! I will certainly recommend this book to all and sundry!
Thank you NetGalley for this early read.

I love Jo’s books and this one is wonderful. I didn’t know it was a follow up to Escape to the French Farmhouse and was delighted to be able to catch up with previous characters. Although touched with sadness this is a wonderful story that I couldn’t put down. There are many new names and together they become one big happy family. They initially gather to complete the lavender harvest each one has a different reason for being there. I highly recommend this story.

Love Jo Thomas books. Del moved to France and loves her life. She buys a lavender farm and works in Henri's cooking. She's found love with Fabien and then something shocking happens which changes everything

I’ve loved all of Jo Thomas’s previous books and loved that she’s actually written a sequel to Escape to the French Farmhouse, catching up with Del and Fabian a couple of years later. Del was enjoying cooking in Henri’s bistro until disaster stuck twice leaving her unsure of her future beyond the imminent lavender harvest, meanwhile her relationship with Fabian isn’t what it was leaving her fearful for their future. With the addition of the fabulous mixed bunch of people staying to help with the lavender harvest and fierce rivalry with chef Zacharie there’s a lot going on and most of it is challenging Del but as you would expect there’s a lot of positives in this too as the harvest gets underway. This continues to be a wonderful location with fantastic community and lots of uplifting moments. I loved seeing how Del has settled into life there and proved that family is more than just blood. 9/10

Another great novel by Jo Thomas. It was great being back in Provence with Del and Fabien, as well as some other much loved characters. Even though this is a follow on novel, it can very much be read as a stand-alone.
A lovely novel full of joy, love and food!

I loved this book so much, it’s like a dose of summer in the middle of February when I read this. Heartwarming, as Jo Thomas’s books always are, full of great characters and delicious food, and a huge sense of community. A real hug of a book and great to catch up with Del and Fabian again. Perfect summer read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I couldn’t wait to start Jo Thomas’s latest book as I am a huge fan and this book was just perfect.
The romantic French setting was beautiful,
I loved the characters and how strong friendships and trust grew through the love of good food and cooking. My only complaint is how hungry I was after all the fantastic sounding dishes.
The ending was exactly how I hoped it would end and it couldn’t have been better.
Thanks to Netgalley, Jo Thomas and Random House UK, Transworld Publishers for an advanced copy on exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

I just love Jo Thomas as an author and have read all her books.
It was so lovely to go back to the old farmhouse, Le Petit Mas de la Lavande and catch up with Del and Fabien. My mind is back to imaging what the farmhouse and lavender fields look like and of course Fabian’s brocante. This is the story of love, friendship and a passion for friends, people and a place to gather and enjoy life.
My thanks as always to NetGalley and to Publishers Random House UK, Transworld Publishers, Penguin for the early read.
