Forest Animals by Julianna Photopoulos is a pictorial delight of all things related to forest animals. The detailed descriptions are helpful, and I learned a lot as I read, but the real treat is the stunning photography. The animals are vivid, clear, and captivating. An excellent addition to any coffee table library.

Positively stunning is the only way to describe this wonderful book. My children and I can’t get enough of it. The photography is breathtaking and all of the animals are absolutely amazing. This was a brilliant way to educate the world about the beautiful animals that exist with us in every continent of our world. This book shows us a variety of animals from many forests. From bugs, birds, amphibians all the way to big cats and large mammals. Each animal is shown in a beautiful photo with simple descriptions alongside. We loved how diverse the animals shown are. We sure found our favorites and every time we read the book we find a new favorite. We also found so many animals we didn’t even know about. We received this as an ebook ARC thanks to NetGalley and Amber Books. We will be buying this for our home library and to give as a gift to friends. I can’t give this beautiful book enough stars. Your family will love this book and cherish it for years to come.

I had fun with this book. It shows pictures of animals from each of the different continents and gives information on both the animals and the land. These pictures were so beautiful. They include everything from bugs to birds of prey, amphibians to large predators. This would be a great book for identifying certain animals as well.

There are a wide variety of animals in the book. Since it was grouped by continent it was easy to find animals I had never seen before. Lots of interesting information.

Beautiful color photographs of animals from around the world. Each continent, except Antarctica, has a section. It includes both large and small animals, reptiles, birds, insects etc. A nice coffee table book or something to thumb through for an animal lover. Each photo gets a small blurb but it is not in depth. The photos are the attraction of the book. (4.5 Stars)

My kids will love this book. The photos are stunning and it is packed with information about animals in the forest. The pictures are close up and gorgeous. I’ll include it in my biomes unit.

All the weird and wonderful forest dwellers are celebrated here in this absolutely stunning collection of photographs, many of which I'd never heard of so it's been an education going through this book!

I'm sure we all think we know what kind of animals live in the forest, but this book brings to our attention that the forests of the world support an insane variety of lives so we need to do all we can to help it survive!

This book takes you all over the globe and introduces the reader to all the inhabitants of the forests in all their glory - the birds, the mammals, the reptiles - and I have to say that the level of detail in the photography was out of this world crazy! Huge admiration to the photographers featured!

This is another stunning collection from Amber Books, and the information by each photo is just the right amount and full of fascinating facts!

This is a nice collection of photos from various photographers of many different forest animals. Some animals I had never heard of, such as the gray foam-nest tree frogs, okapi, resplendent quetzal, hoatzin, short-beaked echidna, and splendid fairywren. This would make a nice coffee table book.

It's a bit of a jungle out there – and it's a bit of a jumble in here. I can't really quibble about the tidiness of the brief captions nor the wonderful photography here – up to the Amber Books standards, once more. But I have had cause many times before to ask whether these really serve as more than wallpaper for the expert, and a visual splendour with just a touch of learning for the newbie. And here this is raised because of the sheer variety of beasties on show.

Yes, I am sure there are specialists in forest animals, but they will probably be specialist on one type – primates, insects, birds, snakes – and not too much bothered about the rest beyond what kills them on a field trip. And here the fact we get gibbons and a hornbill on the same spread is a little jarring. Are we really all that welcoming that we can admire them all equally? Here's a civet, an antelope and a viper for our perusal. We're bound to have a favourite. Poison frog clashes with capybara with toucan – choose your winner, now.

I got the feel that I was learning a touch but witnessing what a high-brow waiting room has as browsing material, as opposed to a coherent survey of anything concise enough to be meaningful. Still, this is probably the only place you can read about how "binturongs smell like buttered popcorn" and still have the excuse to gape at glorious photos. And those campaigners with enough in their pockets would do well to look at having this on hand to show just what it is we're due to be missing for good if we don't pull our fingers out. Three and a half stars.

What a stunning book! ! I love Amber books for the quality of the photographs in every publication they produce. This is a fascinating guide, split according to continent, to forest animals, many of which I had never heard of or seen before. I love a book that teaches me something, which is also something that Amber Books excels at. Never too lengthy, but always fascinating information is given about the various animals. I love dipping into these books but this one has particularly inspired me from an artistic point of view. I can’t wait to get sketching and this would make an excellent source book for any artist. Amber books never disappoint!

Looking at the name of this volume you’d think it’s full of deer, squirrels and maybe wolves, but there is so much more! All groups but fish are featured here, from mammals, amphibians, reptiles, birds and even insects. The photographs are gorgeous and of very high quality, and the blurbs that accompany them add fascinating information about their biology and behavior. Every section is devoted to a continent where you can find forests. Surprisingly, it redefined my understanding of what that is. From jungles to the taiga, the pictures go from the greenest backgrounds to the whitest snow. Every continent appears except for Antarctica. The pictures are vivid and the subjects interesting, from the flightless birds and marsupials of Australia to more common squirrels and elk. Many species were unknown to me and the ones I knew were portraited in a new light. A delight for nature lovers.

This book contains pictures of many different animals, from large mammals to some small critters, all illustrated with clear photographs and a short text. My favourite is the hairy bush viper — it looks like a little dragon!
This is something that I would like to browse through in a waiting room or pick up from a thrift store to make collages with. I do think that it's lacking something that makes it stand out to me. Where the photographs are good, they weren't breathtaking. When viewing photographs, I want something that makes me look twice. I missed that in this book. Although the short texts have the benefit that doesn't take the focus away from the picture, I would have liked a bit more depth. Give me the weird animal facts to share at parties!

There is a lot of important information in this book about different animals around the world that depend on forests for their homes. But the real reason to get this book -- obviously -- is that it is packed with the clearest, most beautiful collection of photos I've ever seen. This book is absolutely stunning. I have always enjoyed books on wildlife and hte natural world and this is possibly the best I have read to date

Each section represents a different continent and the species that can be found therein (absolutely besotted with the Mossy toad from South East Asia)

We can speculate that advances in photographic technology are what make this book as vibrant and beautiful as it is, but Julianna Photopoulos' composition choices and careful use of light create truly stunning images that are in a whole new league
