I love Adam! A beautifully bright guy who puts a smile on my face whenever I read anything from his point of view. Another book that kept me guessing, I thought I might have an inkling throughout but I was proven wrong. Wonderfully written and keeps you engaged. Read in less than 12 hours so it’s definitely good!

I do enjoy this series of books by Rob Rinder. Although this is only the second in the series, the characters of Adam and his colleagues are well drawn, and the plots give the reader plenty to mull over.
However, I am not quite sure what to think about this book. It was an enjoyable read, but when I got to the end I kept pressing the "next page" button because it seemed to finish so abruptly. I had enjoyed the story and then it sort of petered out. To be fair, the plot was tied up, but I just felt that as if I had been in the middle of chatting with someone and then they just wandered off...
I have given four stars because I do enjoy the writing and it was great to revisit these characters (I particularly love the phone calls with Adam's mother!). But I would say 3.5 if that was an option because of the ending.

This was a nice, enjoyable easy read. I finished it in two sittings, it'd be ideal poolside reading!
Rob Rinder's knowledge of the legal system shines through and makes the story interesting.
The only downside for me was having not read his first book, I decided to buy it for when I have finished this as I was enjoying it. I wasn't aware it was the same characters, halfway through this book the ending of book one is revealed! Not the authors fault but bear that in mind if you decide to buy both books!

I was looking forward to reading about these characters again but I didn’t find it as absorbing as the first book. It was enjoyable though.

I really love this series. I had read that Rinder was worried about second book syndrome but this one maintained the intrigue of the first. I flew through it whilst on holiday.

Adam Green is a great character to see these stories through - his relationship with his mother is my favourite!

I think in this one, you can really see the influence from Rinder's time in morning television, which was quite interesting.

I would definitely recommend this book and I honestly cannot wait for the next one to come out!

Thank you to NetGalley for the arc.

This book did not hold my interest. It was too busy with too much information about stuff I didn't need to know about. Not for me. I was so looking forward to it too.

Daytime presenter Jessica Holly is the nations sweetheart. So when she dies live on TV, the nation is heartbroken. And then they are furious. She has a reaction to a meal prepared for her. One liberally dosed with a food she is allergic to. TV chef Sebastian Brooks is instantly assumed to be guilty for cooking the food. Stag Court Chambers are appointed to act for both sides in the trial - they literally can't lose. Adam Green is helping with the defence and is sure there’s more to the case than it seems. But he needs to work fast to prove his clients' innocence.

This is a punchy and entertaining follow-up to The Trial. It gives an interesting insight into both law and daytime TV, both industries that the author has a lot of experience with. It's fairly obvious who Jessica Holly is based on (he's barely changed the name!), but I'm sure the similarities are coincidence (ahem).

A gripping and often humorous novel. I found it very 6 definitely a great beach read.

When morning TV presenter Jessica Holly dies, on screen, of an anaphylactic shock, chef Sebastian Brooks is instantly assumed to be guilty for cooking the food. Stag Court Chambers manage to be appointed to act for both sides in the trial - a guaranteed win for the firm. Newly qualified Adam Green, helping with the defence, is convinced there’s more to the case than it seems, but will he have time to discover what really happened?

The Suspect is Rob Rinder’s second novel, and although I haven’t read the first, I’m sure it is equally good. In Adam, he’s created a likeable character who tries to do his best, while keeping his matchmaking mother at bay. I don’t know if it’s deliberate, but every call with her made me think of Maureen Lipman’s Beattie in the old advertisements!

A great story, if a little improbable in places, but well worth reading.

I really enjoyed The Suspect by Rob Rinder, my first book by this Author but certainly won’t be my last. Great insights into the UK judicial system and life in the legal chambers. I hadn’t read the first book The Trial so this book can definitely be read as a stand alone as I don’t feel I lost anything by only reading this book. This said I’m off to look for The Trial now.

I was excited to read this and as I read it I could almost hear Judge Rinder reading it for me. It’s not the most exciting of stories, although I did enjoy it, and I thought it a little predictable. Saying that, I would choose to read another book by Rob Rinder.. Thank you to Random House UK, Cornerstone | Century for allowing me to read this book.

When UK morning TV star Hannah Holby dies live on air, it's a national shock. The case initially points to celebrity chef Sebastian Brooks, but junior barrister Adam Green uncovers a web of secrets in the glamorous yet cutthroat TV world. As Adam delves deeper, he realizes that Hannah’s seemingly perfect image masked a host of enemies. This gripping courtroom thriller offers an authentic look at the pressures of junior barristers and promises a compelling read. Fans of legal mysteries will enjoy this standalone, even as they anticipate the next instalment.

A lighthearted read, it reminded me of Richard Osman's The Thursday Murder Club/TV programme Silk. I do feel that with the author's career history, I would have expected his book to have a more serious approach to courtroom, legal system, which I would have preferred.

Rob Rinder writes as well as he presents on TV, he has a high degree of knowledge as one would expect of a respected judge. This second outing featuring his lawyer hero does not disappoint. Humorous interplay between characters and an intriguing who dunnit makes for a highly entertaining read which I can highly recommend. Brilliant. Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for an advance read of The Suspect.

The Suspect is the second book in Rob Rinder’s Adam Green series and begins with the murder of a popular television presenter,Jessica Holby, co-host of “Wake Up Britain!” Jessica is murdered live on screen from anaphylactic shock brought on by tasting a dish prepared by celebrity chef Sebastian Brooks. Brooks is the prime suspect after it is discovered that the dish was laced with an ingredient to which it was public knowledge that Jessica was allergic.and he was contracted to ensure he never used it. An open and shut case for the prosecution, but when Adam is put on the defense team, suddenly there's more happening than the brash newspaper headlines.
Once again Rob Rinder has written an engaging, amusing and well crafted novel. Can't wait to read what happens next for Adam.

I never repeat the blurb.
An excellent fllow-up to the first book. Another great insight into life in Chambers with young Adam Green as he tackles the enormous workloads brought about by two very contrasting cases.
Looking forward to the next one - get writing!

Absolutely loved this book! From page one I was hooked and couldn’t wait to pick the book back up. Can’t wait to read more by this author.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The second in the series by Rob Rinder once again centres round Adam Green and the legal practice he works in.The main plot concerns the murder of a television personality who collapsed during a live broadcast and is found to have been fed a substance to which she was known to have an allergy to. When a celebrity chef working on the show is charged with murder Adam is made part of the team for the defence working for the lead barrister. There is also a subplot of another case he is involved in concerning organised crime.
I have read other novels this year written by members of the legal profession and this is not best of them. Some of the characters are too stereotyped and at times the story did not flow well although there are good insights into the workings of a legal practice.
That being said the author injects humour especially in the interactions between Adam and his Jewish mother and I once again enjoyed reading this second episode and would happily read any further offerings.

I was sent an advance proof copy of The Suspect by Rob Rinder to read and review by NetGalley. This is another great read from Rob Rinder. We meet the same characters as in his previous novel The Trial, tackling interesting cases and trying to maintain a work-life balance. I particularly enjoyed the phone conversations that protagonist Adam had with his mother that are scattered throughout the book – very entertaining. Once again the author gives great insight into our judicial system in the UK without ever being dry or boring. A great read.

Another glimpse into life in legal chambers, following the life of Adam Green, a hard-working junior barrister.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series and rejoining the firm was equally enjoyable in this, the second book.

I found this to be a light, easy read, following the mysterious case of the death of a tv celebrity. The book also gives the reader an insight into what a challenging world working in legal chambers might be like for other staff.

The plot also includes a glimpse at other cases ongoing that Adam is involved in. I enjoy the conversations between Adam and his mother, a typical caring and interfering woman.

This book was a fun and interesting read.

I loved this book, the second in the series, if you enjoyed the first one then this is also brilliant. So well written, a great plot with plenty of wit and amusing cultural references. Adam is now a junior barrister and his time in Chambers is well described. His mother is fabulous! Great storyline and excellent pace, highly recommend!
