ARC Copy...I quite liked it! A decently crafted space opera with military sci-fi elements. I did like through out the narrative, Liam's mentality with the aliens and betrayal is present and the ending felt romantic-warm satisfying after all he's been through.
The price of vengeance begins with a great battle worthy of Heinleins starship troopers and then meanders for another 200 pages
But then the book meanders with SO MUCH EXPOSITION, and VILLIAN monologging.
The great conflict doesn't make and sense in time or space. A 100k person city is being overwhelmed by bug people in a past stand and our hero Liam takes time to cook hot wings (multiple times). The action and tension is knee-capped by needless minutia (cleaning armor, sipping whiskey).
Also switching between the different character POVs repeats things and takes me out of the action.
Also, I was promised there would be. Price for Vengeance, but this book gives Liam a mary-sue happy ending
This book was not enjoyable to read. If I didn't promise a review for getting an eArc I would have given this book up to my DNF pile.
