Brilliant, I loved it. I could tell by reading the blurb that I was going to enjoy this book, and I wasn’t disappointed. Mark A. Hewitt has done a marvellous job with this action thriller, as he has with the other novels in this series. Duncan Hunter and Bill McGee are both great characters. Duncan gets himself into some tight situations, however he has the skill set to handle just about anything.
The Author’s writing has really brought this story alive, and it’s certainly a book that I would strongly recommend. Well worth a read. 5/5 Star Rating

This was the first book, in a long time, that I was not able to finish. The pace of the book drags. The characters are unlikable, and the story jumps around way too much to be able to gain any traction or investment. I found it well researched at times, but some faults can’t be overlooked either. Calling them the “Red socks” instead of the Red Sox was bad but misdating the first terrorist attack on the WTC as taking place in 1994 when it took place in 1993 was worse.

I really wanted to like this book, the synopsis made a great sell of it, but unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be.

Midnight Ops was a very good, interesting, compelling book...although the author was quite redundant about repeating things he already said multiple time from someone else's viewpoint. The ARC will hopefully be trimmed down when edited and I highly recommend reading this book. Good cast of characters and some good action scenes.
Thanks to Black Rose Writing, NetGalley, and Mark A. Hewitt for the ARC of the book.

The author has done it again with so many plots and subplots intertwined, with past and present mixed together, and with military, technology, and politics, there's bound to be something for everyone.
