This was very intense read, to go from her empty home to a cellar is a massive jump in situations which creates a suspenseful situation as we learn more about why she is there.

I struggled from page one on starting this book. It was difficult to understand what was happening due to the chapter styles, which were in the format of past and present and confusing. The style of writing and dialogue was not for me. I considered discontinuing the book but curiosity got the better of me and continued to the end, with a struggle. It was a sad and brutal read.

Grace/Gwen, is a professional packer, for people moving homes.
Clare Miranda employed Grace/Gwen to pack her unoccupied seven room house for removal. But things are not what they seems to be.

Grace Maddox/Gwen Leonard, one of the two protagonists, a strange, unhappy, haunting, unpredictable character. Damaged childhood? Dan Roake, second protagonist, an eye surgeon, intellegent. Did he make wrong choices in his life? Their lives suddenly become one and things are not what they seem. I do not want to include spoilers.

Other characters were not believable and had no development in the plot. I found them insignificant and uninteresting but other readers may find them relevant and interesting. The joy of reading is that everyone has a different opinion of a novel. Unfortunately, this book was not for me but I would recommend to other readers.

I give a 2 star rating.

Sharp Glass is a taut, brooding psychological thriller which builds the pace of the plot steadily throughout until you get the end. It's very well written and I found myself fascinated by the main character Grace, she really intrigued me! The story starts with her being held captive in a cellar and we learn about her obsession with a young girl Elise who has been murdered after Grace has packed up her family home and her room.

The plot then follows her obsession throughout, let's just say she's very determined!

Overall I enjoyed this book, looking forward to more from the author!
