Thank you for the chance to review and read.
This is a great addition to the series.
This book is a great romance, which is great for a rainy day or a beach holiday.
I loved this book and I love this series; it just goes from strength to strength. I could not get enough of Holly’s next tale and I actually had goosebumps on my arms after I had finished reading it.
Just three weeks have passed since Holly’s return from the South of France, and this time Jamie’s wedding is pending. Holly is coming to terms with her new relationship, her new home and life with Hope. I was a bit sceptical after the perfect Evan was introduced in the last book, fearing that Lynn would be “doing a number” on her readers by turning him into a slime bag. Thankfully, this is not the case! This book sees Holly continue to navigate her business around co-parenting with Ben and I really liked seeing how these parents have settled as being friends whilst both exploring new romantic connections.
Jamie’s wedding does not dominate the book – after all, this series is all about our lovable sweet shop owner. Instead, we watch Holly’s mishaps as she adjusts with Evan being here, there and everywhere. I loved how the writer brings back some familiar characters, particularly Maud, adding a certain cyclical moment to the entire series. On the other hand, I am still burning with curiosity about where Giles fits in with Holly’s life – I think she is as well! – and I cannot believe he has turned into such a good character after his initial encounters with Holly.
From the perfect setting of the Cotswolds to the sugary sweet shop, this book has everything you could want for some light escape fiction. I flew through this story – thanks to the very short chapters – and just wanted to lap up everything that was happening to Holly. From the cute cuddles with her little girl (that brought back some very precious memories) to strolling through the countryside with Evan, this book had me smiling throughout. I especially loved the house that was described in the nearby village and really hope this doesn’t completely disappear off of the horizon because it sounded so idyllic!
With a Christmas instalment coming soon to this series, I can’t wait to see what is in store next. This has become a lovely series that I have grown to look forward to reading and I am really pleased to say that each of the books are as unique as the last one, making this even more enjoyable to read.
With thanks to Boldwood books and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Ahhhh I've loved everything about this book and this series.
Holly has been on a journey from the start of this series and this book rounded everything off nicely. It was the perfect icing on the cake.
Hannah Lynn has become an instant read author for me and I've loved this series and the Wildflower Lock series and I can't wait to see what comes next.
Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to review this title. I really enjoyed this book! Hit me right in that cheesy romance book spot I love so much.
I’ve adored this series of books and these great characters. I love a book with a feel good happy ending, there is some spicy scenes - which I didn’t mind but maybe unexpected for some in this time of book. Recommended summer read!
4*
I’ve loved following along with Holly and her adventures in the sweet shop. This time, she finds a holiday romance to be a little bit more than that. While I’m already being so invested in this story, it’s been lovely to finally see Holly getting her happy end. What I also appreciated was the little nods to past books, you could easily read this book on itself and would get small catch-ups to be informed enough about things, but as someone who has read the entire series, it wasn’t annoying at all, which is not always the case. Great job on balancing that out!
Thanks NetGalley and Boldwood Books for giving me an ARC to read in return for an honest review.
Holly has had a fantastic holiday romance and has returned home and is now back working at her sweet shop, which is really busy. She’s also busy helping Jamie & Flynn with their wedding preparations.
When her gorgeous boyfriend Evan comes to visit she hopes to show him around the village and introduce him to her family and especially her baby daughter Hope.
Evan offers to help her out in the sweet shop and makes a good impression on the locals. Holly knows this won’t last forever though as Evan will need to go back home.
After an unfortunate accident Holly isn’t sure how she’s going to cope with everything by herself, will Evan be her knight in shining armour?
A lovely read which I thoroughly enjoyed
Love this series, and really enjoyed this new addition! Lovely to catch with Holly and Co and all the mayhem that happens! Loved the sweet shop even more!!
This is the sixth book in this series
All the others I loved
And this one didn’t disappoint
Can’t wait for the next one
Thanks NetGalley
A well written book with charming characters, part of a series but also a standalone book. It was lovely to catch up with Holly and the gang!
Pure escapism and highly recommended
Thank you to Netgalley, Hannah Lynn and Boldwood Books for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review
A great instalment to the series, easily can be read as stand alone but the whole series is wonderful. A fabulously cosy read. Lots of old characters to catch up with and new scrapes for Holly to get out of. As enjoyable as the sweets sold in the shop.
Thank you Netgalley
A Summer Wedding at the Second Chances Sweet Shop by Hannah Lynn was just fab. I loved revisiting the Second Chances Sweet Shop and having an update on all the characters. Looking forward to another book in the series as I’m so invested as to what happens next, hope there’s another instalment to come. Read in a day I could not put this book down.
This is an interesting romance about long-distance relationships, co-parenting, and friendships. It details realistic familial relationships, friendships and finding friends in unexpected places.
I understand this is part of a series but can actually be read as a standalone!
Being from the Cotswolds myself I was intrigued to see how it was portrayed.
A cute, fun read with images of stunning scenery and pages that will lift you up and pages that will pull at your heartstrings.
I did find it a little predictable at times but at the same time when you're reading something like this you're not really expecting a lot of twists and turns for shock value. I think I probably would have enjoyed this more if I'd read the ones prior to this however, but the author does a good job of creating a scene and making you invested in the characters, even if this is your first time meeting them. I'll be looking to read the others in the future.
Also, short chapters! I love short chapters!
This is the sixth instalment of this lovely series that has you laughing out loud one moment and heartbroken the next. The writer writes in such a way you can feel like you are in the situations with the characters and living them for them.
A story of love friendship co parenting and life’s ups and downs with relatable and realistic characters set against the backdrop of a beautiful sounding Cotswolds village.
I have there is going to be another instalment of this fix to see how Holly and her relationship with Evan evolves.
Having read the previous book and thoroughly enjoyed it, I was eager to start this one.
It was great to be back with Holly and her friends and family, they all come across as a great group of characters. I'm glad Evan came to visit and it was interesting seeing him trying to integrate into the community. There were certainly some fun moments with this. I did feel he was a bit overbearing at times. I was rooting for Holly and Evan as I felt they were great together.
I did think, though, that the wedding would focus more given the name of the book, but that didn't spoil my enjoyment of it. It was a great read and I enjoyed the different storylines, going through a range of emotions whilst reading it.
Thank you Rachel's Random Resources for my ARC and spot on the tour. I'm am leaving this honest review voluntarily.
Holly is still trying to come to terms with being swept off her feet on her recent holiday abroad and wondering if things will be the same with Evan when he comes to stay in the village. She has a habit of compartmentalising her life and letting him into her home life is quite a big step. Family and friendships are as important as ever, but there are a few surprises waiting for her.
Holly zipping about the countryside on her Vespa sums up the mood of this romcom and there are plenty of entertaining moments. However, there are the odd sadder moments but Holly always tries to put a positive spin on events. With wedding plans going off plan, there are a few surprises showing you can't take everyone at face value. This is a fun series with a good range of characters and plenty of action to keep the momentum going.
In short: love and laughter
An absolutely wonderful read, that felt like catching up with old friends. A sweet shop and a wedding to organise- what could make for a better book! I love this series.
"A Summer Wedding at the Second Chances Sweet Shop" follows Holly Berry as she manages her shop and helps her friends prepare for their wedding. Despite the joyous atmosphere, Holly feels nervous about introducing her long-distance boyfriend, Evan, to her family. Tensions rise when her mother invites Holly's ex-husband and his partner to meet Evan. Despite some initial friction, the characters navigate their relationships with sweetness and positivity, creating a heartwarming love story. While the book touches on serious issues, Lynn's uplifting writing style keeps the story engaging. Overall, it's a celebration of love in all its forms, accompanied by delicious treats from the sweet shop.
A fun and enjoyable story that leaves you feeling happy and fuzzy and not wanting to put the book down.
