Thank you to the author and NetGalley for allowing me an ARC of the story. Overall I really liked the book. I enjoyed the characters and I enjoyed the twists and turns. However, I was so disappointed in the death of one of the characters. It felt like they were so involved in the story and then just suddenly cut out of the story. I wish they would've been able to continue in the story. Overall, I give the book a 4/5.
This book was a rollercoaster of thrills and excitement. The plot was engaging and fast-paced, with a perfect balance of suspense and action. The unexpected twists and well-developed characters kept me on the edge of my seat, making it a truly captivating read. The author’s ability to maintain such a high level of suspense throughout made this a standout thriller that I highly recommend.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC
I’m a thriller girlie through and through and Savage Ridge is a good one. I’m actually flabbergasted that it only has 170 reviews on Goodreads.
This was told from multiple POVs, in the beginning that was a bit confusing but once you got the idea it flowed easily. This is not a whodunnit since we know from the beginning who did it, we just don’t know why. That was a very interesting take that I really liked.
The ending was fast and I couldn’t put the book down, I really didn’t see the ending coming.
The scenery is amazing, I love everything set in the Pacific Northwest! Also stories set in small towns are just the best.
Savage Ridge explores small town justice, corruption and how far you would go to safe yourself.
The author seemed to love a few words a lot because some adjectives occurred every other sentence that was a bit annoying but not as annoying as the fact that the surname Saint John is said every. single. time a person from that family is mentioned like??? We got it.
I still enjoyed this book a lot and I recommend it to every single thriller lover!
This book did not keep me gripped and the twists were more gentle river than the white water ride I wanted. The characters weren’t particularly likeable and the bad guys were extra bad. I think some will love it but as I read a lot of thrillers it was too slow for me.
I give it two and a half stars as I have read some excellent books recently and in a different month it may of rated higher.
Thanks to Canelo and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for a honest review.
I was attracted to this book as I love a small-town setting. I just didn't connect with the writing and found myself losing interest.
This book caught my interest quickly, and kept it til the end. Three friends kill a boy and run away, to be later gathered at home again while authorities try to figure it out again. The ending was unexpected.
I’m sure lots of readers will really enjoy this book, but I’m afraid I didn’t. I couldn’t warm to any of the characters (there was nothing there to warm to) and the story didn’t interest me at all. The writing was OK but the story seemed to drag on and it was a struggle to get to the end. Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for the electronic copy but this one’s not for me I’m afraid.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for this copy in return for my honest review.
A gripping psychological thriller which didn’t disappoint! This is my first book from this author and I throughly enjoyed. Great writing style and keeps you gripped throughout.
Not my normal read, but Interesting. I was not expecting the action/suspension to be as good as it was. I really enjoy when a story has surprises throughout and its not just the same boring story.
Truthfully, I had an extremely difficult time with this book. I'm not sure if it was due to the multiple POVs in the book and struggling to fully connect with the characters. But I had to force myself to read up until the 80% mark of the book. It was only when I got there that things finally started getting interesting for me. The things that were mentioned in each POV finally connected and started making sense instead of the cliffhangers at the end of almost every chapter.
As someone who reads a lot of thrillers and watches a lot of crime shows, the premise that 3 high school kids got away with the "perfect murder" and had a solid alibi wasn't very believeable to me. How could these amatuer kids that were highly loved in school or their hometown suddenly accomplish a crime that no professional could solve?
For me this book was 2.5 stars, but the ending catching me off guard added half a star leaving this book as a 3 for me.
Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this ARC.
Drink every time they mention a 'Saint John'.
This book felt like getting edged, but not in a good way. The peaks and troughs of interesting vs boring were a rough ride, and the ending left a lot to be desired. I quite literally thought "is that it?". We know from the off he was murdered, and who by, and the rest of the book didn't pay off my investment of time. Some of the writing was interesting, but it was hard to care about anyone. Sloan was the most interesting, but she alone couldn't make up for the rest.
2.5 rounded up. Thank you to net galley for the arc.
First time from this author and i love the cover!
Well written and characters were great. The MC was very intellegent and it had you gripped from page one. Great read and great plot.
Had the wow factor will recommend this book to other readers.
Thanks NetGalley for letting me read and review.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Well written with a great cast of intelligent main characters (unlike the usual gullible, clueless ones commonly portrayed by other authors).
Gripping plot right from the beginning and the ending is excellent…multiple shocking twists! Just WOW!!
Thank you for my advanced copy NetGalley.
I wasn’t enthralled by this as some other readers were. It was ok, but just wasn’t doing it for me. I had trouble getting into it… and I wasn’t loving the writing style. It wasn’t terrible but… I didnt love it as much as I was hoping to.
This book was good. Not really my normal kind of read but i enjoyed it. Would. Probably check out the authors other work

A psychological thriller about a group of friends who kill off an "evil" teen, and the group's fears of exposure. Not a spoiler, this fact comes in early on in this story.
Decent read, I just wish that the story built up some relationship with and/or empathy towards the group of murderous teens before learning what they did - you don't learn the reason why they chose such a permanent solution until the end of the book.
Rather than empathize with the teens, I cheered for the PI attempting to bring the truth to light. Who we are as teens bears LITTLE resemblance to the adult we can grow into (given the chance to do so). Therefore, removing that chance from the realm of opportunities, is a sucker move in MY book😉 regardless of any "rationale" for doing so.
I haven’t read too many ‘Why Dunnit’ books so I wasn’t sure whether i’d enjoy this book but i really loved it. The setting and scenery is so immersive, and really brings you into the story as if you’re there. The characters are full of depth too, particularly Sloane, Emmy, Nick and Pete. Sloane was my favourite character and loved the multiple POVs throughout the story too. I am really excited to read more from this author!
3.5 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley & Canelo for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
The idea of a whyduint set in small town USA intrigued me. I love a good murder mystery, and that aspect was done well. I will say though that I was able to figure out the motive before it was revealed- and while it was a solid motive, I wish it had been more of a shock. Also, I didn't love how the involvement of the three main characters played out. It rubbed me the wrong way and made me feel bad for them in the end. This was an alright murder mystery overall.
Thank you to Netgalley and Canelo for this ARC of ‘Savage Ridge’ by Morgan Greene.
This book had me hooked from the start. I love a bit of cat and mouse chase. I also loved that we knew who the killers were from the start, it was just about uncovering the why. Overall I’d definitely recommend giving this a read!
Good book that has a great thriller of a story in the pages. I liked the whole book and the way the twists unfold for the reader.
