Millie has moved to the suburbs with her husband and kids and her neighbors are awful-one makes fun of her for not being fancy enough and flirts with milly’s husband, while her maid stands in the corners and stares at Millie creepily. Millie’s other neighbor is a gossip. They’re both equally unlikable and annoying. Then there’s the creepy noise in Millie’s house. It was set up to be a good domestic thriller but unfortunately it never really packed the lunch I had hoped for. I really liked the first book in this series and I am a huge fan of the author but this book just kind of missed the mark for me. Does that mean I wouldn’t read book 4 if there is one? Nope it sure doesn’t. I’ll read/listen to McFadden’s grocery lists. This one just wasn’t a winner and they can’t all be.
Thanks to Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley for this ALC in exchange for my review.

Thank you so much Netgalley, Bookouture and Freida Mcfadden. I was so excited when I realised you had accepted my request for an early audio copy of this book!
Wow where do I start, I absolutely loved it!
First I must say bravo to the two narrators, their accents, intonnations etc were absolutely fabulous!
I don't do spoilers so you can read the blurb yourself but I can give you the premise.
Millie, Enzo and their children Ada and Nico moved to Long Island, 10 Locust (Drive or street, I can't remember). This was the house they always dreamed off. They managed to buy it for 10% less than the asking price but still money was tight. Their neighbours, the Lowells, have money and Suzette begins flirting with Enzo when he begins landscaping her garden on the promise that she will get him more work. Millie gets irritated by this and to further wind her up the nosey neighbour at number 13 also gossips and stirs.
The prologue opens with a body and a female wanting to clean the blood up and somebody knocking on the door and entering.
Enzo is very much a family man but both Millie and Enzo have both had a dark past which comes to the fore in ways they didn't expect.
This audio was gripping from the minute it began. I rarely listen to an audiobook until 3am in the morning, but I had to listen to this! I had reviewed the first book The Housemaid, but not the second. This third book ties all the loose ends up. Will this be a trilogy or will there be another one, I'm not sure but I do know that I enjoyed this as a standalone audiobook. It doesn't fail to excite you!
Get your preorder in, I promise you, the twists and turns keep coming, you won't be able to turn it off!

Millie captivated me when she joined the Winchesters in "The Housemaid." Unfortunately, I missed book two. But I couldn't resist diving into "The Housemaid is Watching" and catching up on her life. Millie is now married to the charming Italian Enzo, with his hot accent - ooh la la! The audiobook is a must-listen just to hear his voice and how he pronounces her name.

A sense of unease quickly overshadows the thrill of their new home purchase. Millie's intuition tells her something is amiss. The neighbors are peculiar, her husband's behavior is suspicious, and the author, Ms. McFadden, once again takes readers on a rollercoaster of twists and turns, keeping them on the edge of their seats!

I was worried about feeling lost without reading the second book, and my memory of the details from the first book was fuzzy, but the author skillfully recaps the key points. You can enjoy this as a standalone read, but delving deeper into Millie's story is highly recommended!

Sincere thanks to Bookouture Audio for providing this audiobook through NetGalley. All opinions are my own and left voluntarily.

Freida McFadden has a way of bringing a reader in right from the start, giving bread crumbs that leaves a reader curious and wanting more, and packing a huge punch midway through! I just can’t get enough of her work!

I love this audio version! The narration was great!

I devoured this next installment in the housemaid series!

The Housemaid Is Watching by Freida McFadden is a fast paced Domestic Thriller with some Great Twists! This is the 3rd book in The Housemaid series and definitely did not disappoint!
I would highly recommend this series.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve loved Millie since the first book. She’s back in book #3 with Enzo, her husband of 12 years and her two children.

Frieda McFadden has a great snarky sense of humor and it’s in high gear here. What I like most about her books is that they are always a fun listen and she doesn’t take herself too seriously. The narration by Ina Marie Smith and Lauryn Allman is excellent.

Book #1 will likely always be my favorite, but it was fun to see what Millie is up to these days and I always enjoy listening to this author’s books on audio. While this wasn’t my favorite of the three, I remain a McFan!

Very fun popcorn thriller! The twists were good, I liked the new characters, and the narrator did an excellent job.

4.5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

✨ Typical F.M twist
✨ Family Drama
✨ Psychological Thriller

✨ If you want to know better the whol character of the story probably read the 2nd book of the housemaid series ( the housemaid secret )

✨ Millie and Enzo here are married and have 2 kids. A mix of them both🫣 what else could be possibly go wrong? Well… it was a great twist 😳
✨ F.M did an amazing job writing this one. Even though it’s a series of the 2nd book she still have the mind of a twisting moment until the end. The only thing I’m upset about is a cliffhanger. As u want more😆 I hope a 4th coming up as it would be possible . (Pls)

I loved it! So many sneaking suspicions throughout the story and as it progressed. The clues are definitely there and when the new perspective came up, I was happy to hear it, though a little surprised at first. I still had a different idea about the ending, but am very happy with how it ended. It was great!

Absolutely loved it. Start is quite slow but by 50% the book gets deeper with lots of twists unraveling. Freida is the queen of twisty plot thrillers. Another 5⭐️ from her. Instant but author. Loved it would recommend the series !!!

This is the third in The Housemaid Series and it didn’t disappoint. I love a good book series and seeing how individual characters progress. I was lucky to have access to the audiobook and the ebook and it’s a great read in any format. The start off is slow paced but it does build the suspense. Freida McFadden is a queen at weaving an intriguing storyline and there is many the twist and turn along the way. The characters are really loveable and there individual relationships with each other is something I really liked. If you have read the other 2 you will enjoy this one also.

Another book is not a necessary story in the Housemaid series, but I will read it and any that follow just the same!

It has been 11 years since the last story... Millie and Enzo are now married with 2 school-aged children, and just bought a rather nice house in a better area than their little apartment. They meet their new neighbors and suspect them of being nosy- staring into their home and watching their every move. The story changes a bit- Millie is no longer a Housemaid, but holds a different job. In fact, they hire their own housemaid, Marta and she seems to know about Millies past....

The family across the street, the Lowells, are a married couple, no children. The wife has eyes for Enzo and throws herself at him. Enzo spends a lot of time at her place 'working on their landscaping,' but is that all there is to it? Is there more? Millie regrets moving there almost immediately.

In typical Freida fashion, a dead body is discovered and Enzo is the #1 suspect! Whatttt??!!!

As always, nothing is as it seems...
All in all, it was worth the read, but I think we should stop while we are ahead. This was a great addition to the series and Housemaid lovers will eat it up!

Thank you Bookoutre and Netgalley for the arc of the audiobook!

(The narration was fantastic as always by the way!! I just love Lauryn as Millie!!)

A good read. I didn't think it was as good as the first book, but equal to the 2nd for me, so 4 stars.

I loved the bitchy comment about living ON Long Island, it got me right into the book.

Well narrated too.

Thanks to Bookouture Audio via Netgalley for the invite to listen.

Audio version of this book 📕- WOW another great book by Freida McFadden in the housemaid series! So many twists and turns which kept you guessing right to the very end. The narrator was excellent 👍 very easy to listen to and did the different accents perfectly!
Great listen , highly recommend

I do love listening to books by this author and this one was even better as the narration was perfect, got the tone just right and I just had to keep listening.
This is completely different to the first two books, apart from the characters and not going to spoil it, so it is not necessary to read/listen to the first two. I just loved how it ended, but also how the peril was implied rather than stated so kept you guessing
The different pov's worked so well.

wooow wooow double wooow!
what a book!
having already read to the housemaid one and two I wanted to get my hands on part three as well.
to be honest, I couldn't really remember all the details but for me this was not a big problem, since all the back- information is given throughout the story!
I liked the previous books but I loooooved this one!
Millie and Enzo are trying to live a kind of normal family life. And they do manage quite well, until, yes until....
I liked the two of them but even more so their kids. This story has so much depth and love and as a typicall Freida McFadden a lot of twists and turns!
This rollercoaster is narrated perfectly by Ina Marie Smith, Lauryn Allman!
Thank you #NetGalley #Bookouture Audio for this advanced audiobook

This was so flipping good! I didn't see the twist coming! There is so much I loved about this book. If you loved the others by her, you won't be disappointed in this one. I love in the book the mention of how third books in a series aren't usually as good because in this case that's definitely not true. Wonderful! Five Stars.

Here's the dirt on "The Housemaid Is Watching":

1) If you've been watching (and waiting!) for a new Freida book, "The Housemaid Is Watching" is for you!

2) The third book in Freida McFadden's "Housemaid" series is also a standalone read.

3) MORE DIRT: Protagonist Millie is no longer a housemaid.

She is the loving mother of two children with her own Long Island domicile and housemaid.

4) This fast-paced domestic thriller is character-driven, entertaining, twisty, and guaranteed to sweep you off your feet.

5) There is only one dead body in this book, but no shortage of unreliable narrators.

I listened to the audiobook read by Lauryn Allman and Ina Marie Smith.

Both narrators gave stellar performances.

I was not a fan of Housemaid Book #2 but IMHO, Book #3 is a winner!

Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars, rounded up.

I was thrilled to get this audiobook ARC through Net Galley! This is the third installment of The Housemaid series. Is this series going to end as a trilogy? I hope not!! If it is a trilogy, this author saved the best for last. I loved it!!

Millie moved her family into a new neighborhood. This is her dream home. Millie soon discovers that some of her neighbors cannot be trusted. Soon the paranoia starts to fuel her imaginative mind with some crazy speculations.

Millie is no longer a housemaid. Enzo believes Millie deserves to have a housemaid for their new home. But Millie’s criminal past continues to haunt her causing her to project those fears onto others.

Freida McFadden is best known for her psychological thrillers. Often times the surprises and twists can get over inflated on many levels. This is one of those times where the twists and turns kept on coming at you from all directions. Freida used all the tools necessary to create this thriller, yet I couldn’t help growing tired of the same formula for discrediting a character. Millie’s criminal background kept her an unreliable source of information driving her fear and paranoia to reach absurd heights

Two narrators: Lauryn Allman and Ina Marie Smith. I listened using the Netgalley app. In my opinion since audiobooks have been available I’ve become obsessed with them. I would rather listen to an audiobook rather than read it myself. I’ve grown spoiled by voice actors who have the talent to create a great listening experience. Over the years the availability of narrators has grown allowing authors a wider range of skills and talent. I’m not familiar with either of these performers work, but I did enjoy both voice actors skills.

This book is a solid three stars due to the way this story spent too much effort to make everyone seem dishonest or suspicious in the eyes of Millie. These types of storylines are too commonplace and I’m tired of reading or listening to them. In some ways they are predictable do to the number of books I’ve read with these plot lines.
