Jo and Adrián are both traveling with the same airline to the wedding of their ex spouses, Ben and Mónica. But their plane had to divert and they got stranded. Both Jo and Adrian were quite unfriendly at first with each other and I couldn’t imagine why, because if you are so nice as to travel to another country to attend the wedding of your ex, can’t you also be nice towards another human being who didn’t divorce you? Anyway, one disaster follows another, which delays them traveling to the wedding - I would’ve just turned around and went home. (The whole situation with the guitar and Adrian playing at the wedding was a bit farfetched IMO.)
In the meantime, Jo’s children Liss and Dec and Adrian’s young son Oliver are there already and every now and then Liss is calling her and stressing about their father remarrying and using them as babysitter for their soon-to-be stepbrother Oliver. I really felt for Liss; my heart broke for her, feeling neglected and abandoned by her father, fearing that any baby he had with his new wife would replace them. But you also feel Jo’s and Adrian’s hurt and frustration in all of this; their resentment, grief and bitterness. The heaviness of feeling this way but at the same time being forced to watch your ex-spouse get married was evident throughout the book. Very realistic but unfortunately it overshadowed the chemistry between Jo and Adrian.
The book isn’t a light read. A big part of it is actually quite gloomy. Some scenes were heartbreaking for the children. But I think the strength of the book lies in the depth of the subject of divorce, the considerations that are made, the ramifications after splitting up and moving on. I really think many people will see the value in that. It definitely makes you consider the people involved; the children, being a family - it’s not something you can easily discard and move on. And although I don’t agree with some of the reasoning (Jo’s regarding her breakup from Ben), I think many people will appreciate a book that has the guts to talk about the painful parts of breaking up instead of just the apparent bright side of starting over again.
Thank you Netgalley, Boldwood Books and Leonie Mack for providing an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A delightfully fun, original story of an unlikely romance unfolding in the Pyrenees Mountains. Beautiful imagery, with romantic twists and turns. A perfect summer, beach read that will leave you rooting for love.
Thank you NetGalley and and Boldwood Books for the eARC!

I absolutely loved this book. So much I actually want to go straight back to the beginning to read it again and savour the adventure once more.
Told from the perspectives of Jo and Adrián the Exes travelling to the wedding in Spain that will make the, a blended family with their children.
They face so many disasters but somehow see the best in each other. I love the real feel of the characters in this story and the relationships with their children are tender and heart warming.
A perfect summer escape will leave you longing for a coffee in the sunshine.

This was a fun and interesting concept that ended up a just fine read!
Jo is on her way to her ex-husband’s extravagant wedding when she sees her PTA rival and ex-husband of her ex-husband’s bride-to-be, Adrián. When they run into some weather trouble and have their flight diverted they end up working together to travel across Europe to make the wedding, but mostly to reach their kids who are already there.
The journey is not smooth by any means and while it was a lot of fun, at times it was excessive to the point of being annoying. I don’t need everything to be completely realistic but it did pull me out of the story at time.
The story really picks up in the last ~100 pages and you really feel these characters building a chemistry and relationship that could blossom outside of their circumstances. I enjoyed this book the most once they’d arrived at the wedding and all of the necessary conversations with all parties started happening.
I really enjoyed the way Mack wrote the children in this book. All three of them felt the ages they were described as and like real people with thoughts and feelings.
Overall, I’d feel comfortable recommending this to someone looking for a fun romance with mature characters!

I loved this book. It was sunny and funny and sweet and a perfect book to read to look forward to beach days, paella and sangria. I loved the family dynamics, the gentleness between the children as their lives were gently interwoven through no choice of their own. I liked Jo and I really loved Adrian and the Jo that she baca me with his friendship. This was the best book I had read for a while and I was sad to finish it. Thank you NetGalley for this arc in exchange of an honest review.

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for letting me read along with review this book ARC A Wedding in the Sun. This was a 3 star novel and the first book i've read by the author Leonie Mack. A Wedding in the Sun is a feel the love travel adventure kind of book. My favorite part of this novel was the was the love, laughter and travel along with seeing where the characters started in addition to how the character ended. I hope people liked this book as much as I did.

I’d like to thank Boldwood Books, NetGalley, and the author for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review!
the story and concept of this book was way to funny! The side characters were honestly my favourite part! I DIDNT really feel the 2 mains had any connection in my opinion. It all felt so forced.. the chemistry was basically non existent.. I wanted to really like this one because there were so many moments I did laugh out loud! But the rest just wasn’t really for me.. if I don’t connect with the 2 main characters I just won’t like the story!
2.5⭐️

I wanted to like this book.. I really did. But it was just OK. I didn’t find myself rooting for the main characters to be together. I didn’t find myself really caring about the plot that much. I found it to be corny and silly.. just a little too much. it’s an easy read. But I can’t say that there was much substance to the book.

This story takes us from London to France and across the Pyrenees to the South of Spain. This is a madcap story of hilarious and unfortunate incidents that happen to Jo and Adrian as they travel to their exe’s wedding. After a storm diverts their plane to a small airport in France, Jo and Adrian are forced to room together. Neither are happy about the pairing and both are worried about reaching their kids who are waiting in Spain for them. The diversion is just the tipping point of a series of mishaps on the way to Spain including a missed bus, an accident, a hospital stay, and a stolen guitar. Leonie Mack has written a madcap story that is completely relatable. We cringe as each new mishap throws a wrench in Jo and Adrian’s travel plans. Adrian is portrayed as a grump, but the forced proximity to Jo and their ability to rely on each other through each obstacle makes the reader root for Adrian and Jo. Their banter is witty and their display of parental affection for their children has the reader rooting in the end for this couple.

This was one of the funniest books I have read in a while!
I was caught on by Adrian and Jo's adventure at the very beginning. The "enemies" to lover trope is well mastered and believable and brings the perfect amount of tension for the only one room scene... Because obviously, in a roadtrip book, that was a must.
I adored the concept, the characters, the setting, everything.
Adrian and Jo's chemestry is incredible and goes crescendo as the book unfolds. I loved seeing them fall in love on the page with the reader as witness.
Also, I want to note the attention to details with the French and the Spanish settings. I'm often left dissapointed by books that happen in countries I know well but here it wasn't the case. The setting is so very authentic, and its characters too. It was a true pleasure to read.

Chaotic, fun and possibly the worst road trip/ wedding anyone could possibly attend. Jo and Adrian are forced together when their journey to tge wedding of their ex spouses by a storm. They hate each other or do they?
Things really go wrong in this madcap trip: some of these disasters are funny and some make you cringe but our main characters reactions are what really makes this book worthwhile. I loved both of them and the kids they eventually reach after all the disasters. I loved it

I have never read anything by Leonie Mack before but I enjoyed the story.
It was a lovely story of romance and humour with plenty of real life scenarios along the way and really showed the realities of blended families.
The ending was perfect and really tied up the story.
Thanks to Netgalley, Leonie Mack and a Boldwood Books for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

This is a fun romance book and overall I enjoyed the story of Jo and Adrian! You definitely get a quick laugh out of some situations and in others you feel deeply with them. Some situations (I won't name, spoilers) weren't my cup of tea and sometimes problems would've been solved if people talked. Great for in between.

This was a whirlwind of disasters for two divorcées trying to make a wedding for their ex’s happen. This has a rom com movie adaptation written all over it. In multiple comedy of errors two people are thrown together trying to survive the trials and tribulations to get to a wedding they both dread attending. Although highly unlikely I could see this story playing out in real life. Both in their mid forties this uptight woman from England and a laid back man from Spain make it through some stressful situations and find love in the end. This was a very entertaining read. Thank you to NetGalley for this free advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I had high hopes for the concept of this book and thought it would be super funny. However, overall I personally didn’t vibe with the writing style, and felt like it was a little chaotic at times which made it hard to get through.

The concept of the book is hilarious but I didn't vibe with the writing style. The chemistry between the main leads was basically non existent.

This book was so complicated and messy it was not for me. It didn't make logical sense to me that this situation they put themselves in would ever occur and it just got sloppy from there. The plot just wasn't for me.

I loved this book a lot! The cover is beautiful and I could not put it down. The setting was just what I was looking for.

I absolutely adored this book - and the cover is so gorgeous. An ex-husband and ex-wife are going to their ex’s wedding in Spain and they happen to meet on the plane. A laugh out loud read, a perfect book to read on the beach. The main characters are wonderful and the children's antics made me laugh too. Oscar, who is 7, is quite the character. Complete with a perfect ending - a must read for the romcom lovers!
