I have been a fan of Harlon Cobens books for many years I love his standalone books but my favourites are the Myron Bolitar series so I was super excited to read this instalment after such a long wait and I wasn’t disappointed with lots of twists and turns and in true Coben style keeping you guessing till the end, this is a brilliant read one I did and didn’t want to end. Although this is part of a series it most defiantly can be read as a standalone but if you want the full Myron and Win experience I highly recommend reading all the books.

The problem that serial killers share is that eventually they will get caught. But only because their MO is spotted and compromising evidence is found. However, if all the killings are different then no one will realise their ‘serial’ nature, and if ‘evidence’ is carefully planted then someone else will be identified as the culprit and the investigation will cease. As Agatha Christie famously noted: “If no one suspects you, then murder is easy”. Myron Bolitar (lawyer, sports personality agent, and private detective) runs head on into this concept when the FBI ask him for the current whereabouts of his client Greg Downing whose blood has been found at a murder scene. Myron has difficulty in answering this because Greg died three years ago; in fact Myron had read the eulogy at the funeral. But DNA doesn’t lie and Greg’s was definitely found under the fingernails of a recently murdered woman, a woman Greg had known many years ago. There is a possibility that a serial killer is involved, because the suspicion has arisen that one is operating but setting up other people to take the rap. Myron and his friend and associate Win Lockwood, set off to track down Greg, if he is actually alive, or find proof that he is certainly dead, starting with his two wives – first wife, Emily, who was Myron’s girlfriend decades ago until she dumped him for Greg, and Grace, who has connections to the Mob and must surely have been a party to any planned disappearance. And so begins a tour of the USA as Myron (and Win) follow leads, helped by Win’s connections with legislative and other high-level operators; plus he is a billionaire with his own plane.
This is the 12th book featuring Myron and Win, but is perfectly readable as a standalone. As usual with Coben, the writing is smooth, there are cultural allusions, there is a lot of detailed background and the overriding style is a sort of tongue in cheek humour. The story is told mainly from Myron’s viewpoint, with insertions putting the reader in the person of the killer at some of the hits. The plot seems fairly linear, but this is a delusion. It is rather subtly complex, with so much detail that the clues are essentially hiding in plain sight. The ending is tense and dramatic and the resolution is very satisfactory, and probably unspottable because of the pace.

Think Twice is a part to a series that was last written eight or so years ago, I didn’t know this but feel it can be read as a standalone.
Greg Downing has been dead three years but his DNA has been found at the scene of the murder of two people, how is this possible? Myron and Win delve into a web of lies to get to the bottom of this weird incident.
This was a good read that I enjoyed, the middle part did slow down a bit and there were a fair few characters to get my head round. Considering I hadn’t read any of the previous books I think it was easy to pick up, you can tell there is something background going on with Myron and I thought I had missed out on that knowledge but everything is fed to you or as much as you need to quell any questions. The characters were well developed and the storyline was probably one of the twistiest I have read.

I have been eagerly awaiting the return of Myron Bolitar for some time now so I could not wait to dive right into Think Twice and it did not disappoint. Think Twice is an intriguing tale with so many twists and turns it had my head in a spin (in a good way). I loved the return of all the familiar characters and the way they all interact. I especially love the conversations between Myron and Win and would recommend reading all the previous books if you haven't already done so in order to really understand their relationship.
I loved the story and I did work out who "did it" literally a split second before the reveal but I did not see the further twists coming. It was a fantastic story with a brilliant ending and a final sentence which left me with goose bumps.

Think Twice is the gripping new mystery from Harlan Coben. This was my first book in this popular series, but I found myself jumping right in to get to know the characters and it left me wanting to check out the previous books to read more about them.

In this latest adventure Myron Bolitar and his friend Win reunite to track down a man who both thought was dead. But as their investigation continues more questions arise and it becomes clear that there is more at play than they originally thought.

Greg Downing is a former client and rival from Myron's past, their lives entwined in more than one way. But now Greg's DNA has been found at a murder scene, leading the FBI to ask how can a dead man commit a murder.

The characters in this book are so well crafted, after just a few chapters I felt like I knew them already. I loved the mystery elements and enjoyed the twists unfolding and secrets emerging as the story progressed. One of my favourite thriller so far this year!

Another good read from Harlan Coben, good to be reunited with Myron and Win again. I did find it a little confusing at times but all in all a gripping read.

When I started on this book I did not realise it was book 12 of a series. I have read a couple of other of the author's books but this was the first for this series. As you an imagine, it did take a little while to really get into the book as I did not know all the back story, but do not let that put you off as once I got into it I was hooked.
This is clearly a well written and well plotted book and it really does stand out for that. Although I like realism in the books I read, I can kind of accept that with this author some stories may seem a little far-fetched but I get the feeling the author is not bothered by this as it is the story, and keeping the reader involved, that counts.
There were a number of references to American sports which I did not understand, and being in Europe you did not always get a feeling of the distances covered by the characters. There were also, in my opinion, too many characters and I did tend to get a little mixed up with them but that could be because I jumped in at book 12.
This is definitely an enjoyable read with lots of twists and turns along the way.

As a die hard fan of author Harlan Coben and his stand alone novels I have recently started to read the series with both Myron and Mickey Bolitar. What have I been doing as I have been missing out.

This is a fabulous book which I powered through. Brilliant characters, fantastic plot, moments of catching my breath and the unpicking of the jaw dropping ending. I shed a tear at the last page.

This is everything that a reader would want from a novel and I am disappointed that I couldn’t give it more than 5 stars.

Controversial. It whilst I liked this book, I didn’t love it. I’ve read previous books by this author but nothing for a while. I felt it had a strong start but the pace for me dropped off in the middl before picking back up. It’s a good plot line, but somewhat repetitive in places. This book is absolutely fantastic! The conversations between Myron and Wyn are hilarious, and the plot is fast paced from start to finish. It had me on the edge of my seat almost the whole time. I have read many Harlen Coben books and this is possibly the best yet. Highly recommended!

A long time ago, when I wasn’t reading much crime fiction, one author that I read was Harlan Coben, specifically the Myron Bolitar series. They were books that were strong thrillers with a good strand of mystery woven through them. It’s been a good while since I’ve revisited the series – I’ve read a fair few of Coben’s standalones – and I was a bit concerned when I discovered that his latest book was a return to Myron for the first time in eight years.
There were two reasons for that concern. Firstly, as elements of the story draw on Myron’s personal history, I was concerned that I would be missing something, some emotional oomph that long-term readers would get. That isn’t the case at all – Coben gives us everything we need to know, but in a perfectly natural way. There’s nothing that feels like an exposition dump, despite the number of characters who have appeared in the series before.
My second concern was that recently we did revisit Myron’s world, if only tangentially, in Win, a story that focussed on (and was narrated by) Myron’s partner Win. That book was a magnificent piece of work, and I was worried that I’d miss Win’s distinctive voice. Thankfully, Win has a decent role in this one, and he does get to narrate a few chapters.
So, those concerns turned out to be nonsense, as I had assumed they probably would be. Let’s take a look at this book.
Wow.
It’s really hard to say much about the book’s plot without spoiling the many twists and turns, so, well, I won’t. Coben is famous for his plot twists, but here, the plot swerves all over the place in completely unexpected directions. There are a couple of points where I thought something had been overlooked or there was a plot hole, only for the fact that it have been overlooked was a crucial plot point. It’s a masterpiece of plot construction – there were moments when I thought that the plot could never be tied up satisfactorily, but you should always have faith in Harlan Coben.
The final sections of the book gave me my favourite reading experience – the dichotomy of not wanting to put the book down and also of not wanting it to finish. As Coben cranked the tension up to eleven, I was putting the book down, pacing up and down, picking it up, reading a little bit more – repeat that several times and you’ll get the idea.
All in all, as you may be able to tell, this is one of the best thrillers that I’ve read in a long time. Whether you’re up to date with Myron or you’ve never met him before, you don’t want to miss this one.

This was a very complicated murder/mystery which kept me totally absorbed, with lots of characters and non stop action. The tension builds fast towards the conclusion, which was amazing and brought everything together.

Wow. This got me on the first page. This is actually the first Harlan Coben I have read ( not my usual genre) but it certainly won’t be my last. This 100% needs to be made into a series, which I will binge watch in 1 day! Fantastic plot, perfect pacing, gripping and totally unexpected ending!

Great to see these characters back, it’s like visiting old friends.

Think Twice is an outstanding book that I couldn't put down.

When I read that Harlan Coben said "no one's going to figure out" who the killer is in this book, it really intrigued me. Of course he was right and I had no idea whatsoever. I love a mystery and this ticked all the boxes for me. It was addictive and despite not being able to work out what was going on until it was all revealed, I enjoyed the journey that it took me on.

I actually hadn't realised that this was the twelfth book in a series and it easily works as a standalone novel. The characters were brilliant, I instantly connected with them and felt invested in their stories. The relationship between Myron and his friend Win is one of the best I have come across in a book.

This was so good that as soon as I finished reading, I downloaded another Harlan Coben book to get stuck into (it was also excellent) because I enjoyed his writing so much.

Waited a while for a Myron and Win story line, so pleased to see them back again. As ever with Haran Coben another great read with lots of miss direction, and many twists and turns with the usual banter between all the main characters. This is yet another page turner that keeps you guessing to the end. Highly recommended, looking forward to the next instalment.
