This one was not for me, honestly. I did not like the art style and the story was a bit eh for me. I found that I was really bored.

Want to thank Netgalley and publishers for giving me the chance to read this book.
An okay manga. Not sure I like the story or how it was told. Something just was throwing me off.
"Three Seconds After Our Eyes Met" follows a pair of college students who plan and run student programs on campus. The group leader has an outburst seemingly on his own, but another student accidentally sees this, noting that the leader never showed this side of himself to the rest of the group. I thought this was a cute story about two students learning about each other and growing with the help of the other. For a one-volume story, the series is refreshing and cute, although I do wish there was more to the story about their blossoming relationship.
Overall, the story wasn’t too bad. It felt a little clunky at parts and I found the formatting to be a little bit confusing. The ending was a little abrupt and I didn’t have that sense of a satisfying ending.
The cover for this is stunning. Lighting and the softness give such a wonderful idea for what this manga could be. The title adds to the possiblity of how it could be. Unfortunately, this didn't end up givng me any of those warm soft feelings.
There was a lot of talk about the student union and how to run that. It's great and fascinating, but when this is a standalone manga that is only 146 pages, it didn't leave enough room to explore other parts of the story. It led to the characters falling flat. Getting to know Hezhan or Shunwen felt out of the question which left me really wondering how any sort of relationship formed.
I struggled with how much was going on in the panels. There were numerous sounds and motions that made it often feel chaotic and distracting to a point. It became hard for me to focus on the characters and what they were doing because the sounds and motions where doing all the work.
With nice art, this was just a disappointing read that could have reached it's potential with more length. I will give this author a chance and see how they grow as this had the potential to be a really cute story, but just didn't hit it with this one.
The university takes its events very seriously, and the president of one such club is doing his best to exceed expectations, even if he has to fake his entire personality to do so. There are many times he's flustered or considers giving up, but then his eyes meet those of an underclassman, and he finds the courage to keep going.
Ah, I'm being vague, but I admit that beyond the basic premise, this book confused me. This was mostly because there were text boxes all over the place, and no matter which way I read them, the pages didn't always make sense. Well. The art was lovely, and the main premise of the protagonist trying to fake it til he makes it was interesting. It wasn't a terribly romantic story, but the ending was satisfying nonetheless.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC. All opinions are my own.
Cute and a quick read. I think it was an okay read for me, I wasn't just that attached to the character that much.
"Three Second After Our Eyes Met" follows two high school students that serve together on their schools' student council. One of which is President (Hezhan) and the other is just a member (Shunwen). By coincidence, Shunwen happens to see the practically "perfect" Hezhan acting completely different than he appears in a moment when he thinks he's alone. Hezhan is aware he's been caught for being unlike his normal persona the rest of the student body sees, so he keeps a close eye on Shunwen, thinking he'll tell everyone his secret...
I thought this was overall a sweet, quick read! Though I did enjoy a lot of how the characters interacted, I will admit I was confused a few times (either just by following the dialogue or maybe the translation at times, I'm not sure). But I think the overall sentiment I didn't have trouble grasping of one of our MCs misunderstanding the other and then coming to learn there's more than meets the eye there. Lots of personal growth and sweet love in this one!
DNF. I couldn't connect with the disorganized script and the unrealistic, cliché characters. I'm usually a sucker for high school romance, but this one didn't work for me.
I really liked this story. It is simple, but at the same time very warm and I wanted it to last a few more pages.
I admit that at first I couldn't get fully hooked but as I progressed I couldn't let go and when I realized... it was over.
I liked that the protagonist shows himself in a way that was not intended for others to like him (many people do that, but sometimes they take it to other extremes) and that Shunwen saw what he really was like.
Charming, light, romantic and also about personal growth.
Thank you Media Do International, Inc. and NetGalley for the ARC.
The gap moe from one character and the persistent honest one that makes him fall… ah, there’s nothing like a classic trope!! I really love the art too. A great 5 star read, thanks Netgalley for the e-ARC! Totally recommend this is you love one volume reads!!!
First, a Thank you to NetGalley, the Author and the Publisher for this ARC.
I devoured this in one sitting.
I like how the characters and their relationships progressed, how they learned from each other, about each other and about themselves. It was nice to see how they handled their situations especially the friendships and romantic feelings. I did have the feeling that I missed out on some debt, like there could have been more to both the story, the MC's and side characters.
Thank you so much for letting me read this manga. This is a very cute story. There's a love story but it's so slow moving that sometime I doubted that it was there at all.
Mr nice-guy-people-pleaser-workaholic-leader meets Mr frank-relax-always-here-for-you-guy. Three Seconds After Our Eyes Met is a cute and fun story about their relationship, accepting and embracing one's true self, and dealing with responsibilities and disappointments as they navigate their lives as part of their student union's events division. I enjoyed this a lot and devoured this in one sitting. They're just cute. I like how the characters and their relationships progressed. It was nice how they handled their situations especially the friendships and romantic feelings involved.
I still can't with that Protein Grease name of a band though lol
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review!
I wanted to like this but the story was busy and boring and the text bubbles were hard to follow. I found myself skimming along after awhile and I wasn’t really invested in the story. Mostly I was in it to see how long it would take for them to finally kiss!
Three Seconds After Our Eyes Met is a solid review by Rancha. It's a one-shot contemporary university BL romance between fellow student union events committee leaders Hezhan and Shunwen. Hezhan is sociable and popular, but his affable personality is just a front--in reality, he is a much more human figure who gets irritated and frustrated like everyone else. Shunwen discovers this by accident, but keeps Hezhan's secret, becoming a treasured assistant (and something more) in the process.
This book is a good fit for readers looking for a light, fluffy, purehearted standalone romance (shounen-ai rather than yaoi). It's a bit tropey, and nothing earth-shattering, but it's a solid beach read or quick meal-break relaxer. It's also nice to see the genre as a whole move away from overt homophobia (ex. "It's wrong to love another man") and jealous rejected female love interests. In terms of delivery, the pacing is well-done and there is a good balance of art to text. I would be curious to see more of Rancha's work, especially a longer series with room to develop a more involved story.
While the piece lacked novelty and the characters lacked depth due to a weak introduction, the occasional flirtatious moments were charming. However, the overall narrative and character development felt neglected, though the art style remained visually appealing.
This manga also did not stand out to me. Personally, it was nice and fluffy and cute but on it just didn’t have an underlying plot really except the two main characters meeting there wasn’t a different thing going on. They didn’t have to work together. I think it just pulled away from the story that it was just a romance as the bibliography was referring to more.
This, overall was a cute story, but it felt incomplete. I feel like I read the first few chapters of a long slow-burn romance only to have it suddenly end with a simple kiss. If this was the first volume of a series, I could give it more grace. But since it's a one-shot, I can't. The characters are pretty common tropes in a BL series. Despite being straight-up tropes, I did enjoy the main couple. They had good chemistry with each other, and their relationship grew naturally. It's just that the ending flubbed the entire novel. The art style was excellent, I liked the detail of the characters' pupils being drawn in a diamond shape.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!
A great story about a boy who pretended to be someone who he never was just to not end up alone again and a stranger who could see right through him. Both help each other overcome their lacking and slowly fall for each other in the process. The miscommunication is not very long, it just gives the perfect touch before the happy ending.
